This is why nobody was seemingly paying attention to the government's asking people to not travel this weekend. Why would they obey that when there seems to be no risk to Thais (though clearly dirty foreigners are at risk).

This is also (in my mind) the explanation of why I'm not seeing actual social distancing in my part of Thailand (Ladprao). About 70% wear masks when out and about. About 10% wear them when inside our neighborhood (and, then, mostly as chin protectors). They sit close together, sharing drinks, eating with no serving spoons out of common dishes, and (usually) with at least one dog or cat sitting on the same table as the food.

The dog and cat were the safest thing at the party

I bet if u get covid positive, first thing u try would be hydroxychroloquine and azythromycin

Funnily enough I was reading a paper by the Turkish Journal of Medical Sciences, somewhat sceptical of all the hype.

I read yesterday that turkey have been using the drug with success and have a very low death rate , from what I understand it works well with people in the early stage of the virus not once the lungs have been damaged

I heard a lot of stories last night about how people are being kept in the provinces they were in when it really started sometime around the end of March. Earthmovers used to pile dirt on the lanes at highway checkpoints. People unable to even leave their villages. So I would argue that measures are being taken.

Not my wife’s village or any village near hers

It's great in retrospect to be able to see the sense in shutting the stable door, while you still have a horse, though he is simply uttering what many of us have been saying for nearly two months now, that Thailand should have had a strict immigration procedure in place a long time ago. Keeping the arms open in welcome for so long to save tourism numbers, was bound to have consequences sooner or later.

I didn't see any scientific evidence above to back up his claim this is a different strain, so hope he has that at least partially wrong.

I’m sure your right with there being no scientific evidence this sounds like a political statement blame it on the dirty farangs again

The coronavirus fatalities are far worse than the Chinese authorities are admitting. Entire supply chains are being shut down as cities in China are in lockdown. It is not good news for anybody, with the possible exception of the medical industry.

Read a email from UKs leading research centre corona virus worse than all the recent epidemics put together no cure no Vaccine and mutates and they were just waiting for a cross over decease from animal to human this ain’t flue
