  1. I did that once.  The first year I went to immigration, I got 12 month statements for both accounts.   Since you had 800,000 in both accounts for a couple of weeks it shouldn't be a problem.   If you are transferring the 800,000 into a new account, immigration wants you to do it SAME DAY.  Not one day delay.   I still have all my bank books from day 1, but I don't remember if I showed both at immigration.  My gut feeling is that they want to see the current book and with 2 statements from both banks, there shouldn't be a problem.  Good luck and let us know how it goes.

  2. In 2015 I was told by SS that I had to set up a direct deposit account with Bangkok Bank in Thailand and all SS funds would be funneled through Bangkok Bank New York Branch.  A fee  on both sides.  A big pain because I had to go to the bank every month personally and withdraw SS funds and then put into my regular bank account.   A few years ago an American neighbor told me that I could deposit directly into my regular savings account.  I called SS in the US and changed the account with no problem.  Now I can access the money via internet banking or my debit card.  However, I was under the impression that all SS money still is funneled through a contract with Bangkok Bank.

Now it appears it has changed, for the better.   I guess I could go about changing banks and setting up new accounts, but a pain and not necessary.   The fees are minimal.

Recently a friend of mine had some problems and contacted the SS in Manila.  They only have specific days that they will talk to you on the phone, but they were very helpful.

Reminder!  It is very important you fill out that letter they send every year to confirm some details or your SS money will be stopped.  Happened to my friend.  He finally got all his money, but not without some stress on his end.   Fill out the form and send it with some tracking.   Hope this helps.

Far as I know the 90-day reporting date has never reset on extension day. It resets 90 days from your last report.

I was talking about Phuket specifically.  From what I understand every office is different.  Phuket Immigration Office  used to reset the 90 day on extension date (for the past 9+ years for me)  But now it's every 90 days no matter what.   I think because of online reporting, but who knows.

Online reporting is nice.  In Phuket there has been a drive thru window for about 5 years, very nice if you have to go to Phuket Town.  No parking and no waiting too long.

    have a great evening.

Try, it works if you're registered.

However, I'm sure the immigration got all your records. And I'm also sure they can print out a copy.

    Good luck 🙏

Yeah, you use the check status button.  Brilliant.

My initial confusion was that they now do it differently in Phuket, which was confirmed yesterday by another person living in Phuket.  Then I got some snarky responses, which wasn't cool at all.  I just didn't know it was a different system now.  You kind of have to live here to understand the webs and flows of life in Phuket.   It's complicated.

Thanks.  Now I know.  You were the first person to suggest that.

Check it out by internet when are your next 90 days.

And... I'm surprised that it's immigration's duty to clip the slip into your passport.😳

    1.  That would be great if I knew how to do it.  Would you please let me know how I can check on the internet when my next 90 days is due?  I went on  the online reporting website but couldn't find it.  Thanks.

    2.  For the past 9+ years Phuket immigration has put a slip of paper at the back of the passport with the next 90 day due date.   The first time on the extension day. Then every 90 days I would go to the immigration office, or afterwards the drive thru and get a new piece of paper stabled in the back of my passport.  On the extension day it resets.   Maybe they only do it at the Phuket Immigration,  I don't know.   This year there was no paper, only a little post-it note when I asked.   Thus the confusion.

Now I'm doing it online for the past 2 times, and it appears that their system has changed to be actually every 90 days with no reset on extension day.   At least that is what I am assuming at this point.   We will see.

I understand your situation a lot better now. Based on what she gave you, I'd be pretty confident that you'll get the email reminder in the first or second week of May. If you don't, then as you say a trip there seems in order. I'd take it easy for now though. Sabai sabai

Yeah, I think I got it all sorted in my head now.   The little orange post-it threw me for a loop...  The system seemed to change, and they didn't tell me in advance.  🤣  Keeping the brain cells functioning...😅 by keeping us on our toes.  All in a day in Thailand.  🤗

Beyond useless discussions, I think we can conclude that in Phuket until recently the 90 days started from the last extension, now they start from the last notification.

A warning for those who have to make the extension to Phuket, and are used to the old system, check your 90 days slip  !!!

Thank you for your assistance.  I guess the system has changed, and Phuket is now "modern". hahaha   I've only done the online reporting twice.   I went back and found the email that reminded me to do the 90 day reporting.  It was 14 days before the deadline.  I'll keep a lookout for that.   In the meantime, I will assume that I am on the "new" system.  Thanks again.

If you did the 90 day online, did you not get the official slip sent to your email after it was approved?

I did my extension on March 13.  NORMALLY, Phuket immigration puts a 90 day notice in the passport with the extension stamp.  And Normally, in the past, the 90 days is 90 days from the extension, at least in Phuket. Immigration has done this  Every year for 9 years.

I Always check my passport before leaving immigration to make sure everything is ok before I leave.  This year there was no 90 day slip in my passport, and when I asked, I got this little hand written note on a post it.   (see photo on above post).

It was a bit dodgy so I was asking for some advice on this forum so I wouldn't have to go back to immigration and ask.   At this point I'm hoping they will send me an email reminder like last time.   If not I will drive back to immigration and ask them what to do.

I was asking for some assistance.  Thank you, but I will sort it out myself.

don't know why I bother asking for help on this forum

And I don't know why you bother asking for help if all you are going to do is ignore the advice given and then rudely berate posters for trying to help you.

Look, I shouldn't have said what I said, but there were a few snarky comments.  I was talking about Phuket specifically and someone mentioned that he had the same experience in Phuket that I have had in the past.   90 day report 90 days after extension, for 10 years.

Then this guy below obviously didn't read my post.   Duhhhhhhh   really?   If he had read my post he would have seen that I DID check my passport and asked for a 90 day slip.   This is what I got.

Not exactly professional or official.   Which is WHY I was asking for assistance in this forum, not to be made fun of.

Hey, I thought we were all here to help each other.

Duhhhhhh, your fault for not checking before leaving Immigration. Always check for accuracy and completion of forms and stamps BEFORE leaving Immigration.

Mr. Dingdong, please read my post and you will see I did look at my passport before I left immigraion.

You've had the easy and correct answer enough times here. The date of the extension does not affect the report date

I guess you didn't read federicoP comment about his experience in Phuket 1 week before my experience and the 10 years of experience we both have had at Phuket Immigration on this subject.   The 90 days was, in the past, 90 days from the extension....IN Phuket.  It looks like it changed between March 5 and March 13??

I don't know why I bother asking for help on this forum if people want to criticize my questions and comments.

I renewed my extension at Phuket Immigration on the 5th of March and they fixed in my passport a new 90 days report slip asking me to notify after 90 days starting from the 5th of March.

Same thing happened to me in the last ten years (always Phuket).

But a friend of mine, that renewed in the middle of March, had the same problem of Livingnthailand.
Maybe a recent change in Phuket Immigration policy ?

They had a whole new staff at room 103 March 13.  There seemed to be a bit of disarray. (actually more than a bit)   I looked at my calendar for the past 3 years and it was always 90 days from extension, June for March extension.  I'm hoping I get an email reminding me to apply for the 90 on line.  I've only done on-line 2x.

I was hoping for an easy answer.  😅  In my dreams.

    Maybe a Phuket thing?

that your extension does not automatically extend your 90 day report, yet you refuse to accept their advice.

It's not that I am refusing to take anyone's advice, I have lived here long enough to realize that there are many "answers" to the same question.  Especially when it comes to immigration.  That was why I was asking this community for some additional advice.   Every year my 90 day was in June following the extension when I extended basically on the same day every year.     This year May. ?  I had questions.   If I get an email reminding me to do the 90 days then it will clear everything up.

  13. Phuket immigration forgot to put the 90 day Report Slip in my passport on the last extension and I'm not sure when my next 90 day is due.  Here are the details.

    1.  Did a 90 day on line February 20, 2024

    2.  Renewed my extension on March 13, 2024.  Noticed that the 90 day report slip was not in the passport and asked the clerk for one.   She came back with a post-it note with the date May 20, 2024.

    3.  After a few days I realized that May 20 was about 3 weeks earlier than 90 days from the March 13 renewal.  It was actually 90 days from my February 20 report date.

    4.  Contacted the Phuket Volunteer group and they wrote back:

But the 90 day reporting is independent of the extension date.

The 90 Day is counted from your last reporting or from your last entry into the country, Whichever comes first.

That didn't sit right with me.  I looked at my calendar for the past 2 years and it looks like the 90 days reports were 90 days from the annual extension.

So my question is, after my long detailed explanation, is when do I need to do the 90 day report?  I'd rather not have to drive to the immigration office and ask them if I don't have to.

Thanks for any assistance you can give me.

You do not need to file a new TM30 for out of province and international trips.

    Previously it was required.

In Phuket when you return from an international trip, you need to go through the drive-through window and have the TM30 address registration paper that is in your passport stamped.   Mine has been stamped many times.  They say 24 hours, but I went about 10 days after I returned and no problem.

Last year, when I was doing the annual extension, the clerk told me I had to file a new TM 30 because it was 3 years old.  After I got all the paperwork together, the IO told me it wasn't necessary and just stamped the existing TM 30.   So this year I just brought everything.  A pain, that's for sure.

And, if they're bothered, as they're big boys, they can swim away but I doubt that they give a flying fish about a few humans swimming near them which can hardly be described as interrupting their natural seasonal wandering for food. There's no shortage of plankton or places to find it.

This is so sad.  They can't just turn around and go to a 7-11 for their food.  They are in their natural arena.  The humans aren't.  You are not a diver.
