Okay Thanks.

UbonJoe's link is correct. Has anyone used this before?

She enquired a couple of months ago. Wasn't aware it existed.

I thought you could only get non o marriage visas outside Thailand and my girlfriend sent me this Thai immigration document. She went to Changwattanna a couple of months ago for enquiries. I've never seen it before. Asking because if the surrounding foreign consulates fall under the awful online system ( resulting in having to go back to home country for visas), this could be an option. Can anyone shed some light?

I have been told the 300 day rule before you can remarry only applies to women wanting to remarry. From Siam Legal.
-
Either of them should not have a spouse at the time of marriage. If woman whose husband died or whose marriage has become terminated, the marriage can only take place after expiry of 310 days from such death or termination of marriage, but before such period if
- A child has been born during such period;
- The divorced couple remarry;
- There is a certificate showing that the woman is not pregnant;
- There is an order of the Court allowing the woman to marry.

Thank You Ubon Joe. One more question for you as you and the other guys here seem very knowledgeable and my situation is complicated. If I divorce on this extension in the future, I am aware I will have to leave the country as the extension becomes void. I wish to marry another lady so I will have to leave Thailand and apply for a 'tourist' visa back in the UK , then once I arrive back in Thailand, go through the marriage extension process again. As stated before I don't think I qualify for STV or MTV because I don't have letter of employment, pension or self assessment form(which seems to be a requirement for all visas now according to the online system) and consulates might be closing. So my question is, if I'm unable to get these visas can I enter on a 30 day visa exempt entry and start the new marriage extension process that way? My life is nearly as complicated as the new visa system ???? so any advice welcomed.

Yep Thanks thinking about that option now . Pain in the a*** really, I Usually got a multi o from London but now it's only single entry and I don't think I even qualify for that as I have no letter of employment , pension statement or self assessment cert., just a wedge of savings. Thanks for your info.

Thanks chaps, yes 90 day ends DEC. 15th so I will have to re jig a few things. Getting visas etc used to be a simple process, seems to be changing almost daily. I will double check what I need for the extension but are they particularly fussy about photos with the wife? Not rude ones obviously ???? What type etc? I've been married 16 years and have 16 year old daughter who will come along with us so hopefully no issues.

I thought a marriage extension was 400,000 bht in my Thai bank account for 2 months. I didn't realise there was another option. The GB exchange rate is so bad I don't want to bring another 400,000 over at the moment. Ubon Joe said it doesn't have to come from overseas , I hope that is still the case.

I don't have an extension . This is my first application . I have a non o multiple entry visa. so does this 30-45 prior thing still apply.

2 questions. I have a non o multiple entry visa (marriage) which finishes March 2020. I want to apply for a marriage extension in January because of travel arrangements we have made and want the process finished sooner. Does it matter when you apply for a marriage extension, or does it have to be near to when your visa expires? Secondly do I get the bank letter (proof for immigration) a few days before I apply for the extension or when I deposit 400,000 in the account which will be this week. Thanks.
-
Thank you . My daughter is in her twenties so I don't think that will work. Think I will have to navigate the awful evisa system back in the UK.

So for an extension of stay being cancelled after divorce finalized I would have to leave come in on another visa, marry then get the extension again. Suppose no way of doing this within Thailand.
-
I asked my gf to ask about this in Bangkok. IO said after the divorce my non-imm o visa becomes invalid. I would have to leave within about 7 days and come back on a METV , marry then apply for a marriage extension. However how would the Amphoe know. Ask a different officer u will no doubt get a different answer. I would like to know more on this too.

Thanks for the info. Lopburi3.

Thanks, Lopburi3. Yep , my local bank will open one for me as long as I bring the trouble and strife and her house book etc. What type of bank letter is required? just so I know what to ask for. Thanks again.
-
Thanks , Do I need some kind of letter when opening the account or just before I apply for the extension? Can the letter come from my local branch? cheers.

Does it matter what type of account I open for the 400,000 in bank for a 1 yr. marriage extension? Do I need any confirmation letters from the bank or do I just get an updated bank book and confirmation bank letter the day before applying for the extension? Thanks.

Can you only get a non o visa the day your visa actually runs out. I wanted to go a few weeks before the expiry date. If u get refused can u come back in on a visa exempt?
