These blokes probably can’t imagine an equal partnership, or god forbid, or consider that Harry saw that marrying an outsider with her own money meant that he had a way out of the firm and life which he pretty clearly despises (and now is surplus to requirements).

what bizarre thinking ... so many people are born to pain, poverty, horrible suffering, physical/mental limitations. so many people struggle just to survive...  and yet ...somehow, you've  come to the conclusion that someone from a supremely privileged life is justified to relinquish their social and historical responsibility so that they can continue to live a supremely privileged life without accountability... is ..?? ... just wrong.

We enjoy walking around/eating/drinking in the Central Pattaya area (Soi Buakao and surrounding sois especially), so we want to be close to that or at least able to easily take songtaos to and from this area.

I love this area too. Please provide some more details about your sexual proclivities/interests and how you and your partner identify so I can narrow down my recommendations.

Harry Dunn's parents went to the US seeking for justice

Harry Dunn's death was an accident. The lady wasn't drunk or malicious, she made a mistake.  Where is the "justice" placing this person in jail? Answer: There is no justice found in that action. It is only revenge.  And I'm not faulting Harry's parents at all for their reaction.

This story is only an opportunity for the media to make money sensationalizing a horrible accident.

Those that read, write and post comments about this story only increase the value of the media's investment and the media only cares about their money. They don't care one iota about Harry Dunn, the Dunn family, the lady who made the mistake or any animosity that this story generates. That is the sad truth.

Justice is an excellence of the soul and injustice is a vice (Socrates) ...

  4. time to move on.. I am sure it is a very difficult thing to do. Losing a family member, your son, brother, etc regardless of the cause is never easy. however, this was an accident and putting this lady in jail isn't going to fix anything, it is an act of revenge and not justice... now the media will make money selling this tragedy as something more than what is really is... the media and journalist have no soul..  it's time to move on...

    Guys,

What are your thoughts on living in Thailand long term?

I've been here more than 10 years and I have no plan to leave. I retired at 48 y/o ????  and I love it here.

It sounds like you've got a lot of problems, issues, concerns and frankly you sound like you need more $$$ money. You must remember there are no guarantees in life and one day, you are going to leave this planet in either a flash or a fizzle. So go find your big boy pants, put 'em on, figure out what you're gonna do,,, then go do it!

    Cheers mate!

If someone got denied entry at DMK or BKK and and were given the choice of which country they could fly to in order to exit Thailand.  Which would be the best country to in order to hit a land border crossing back into Thailand.? Cambodia? Laos?

The nicest thing to say about Cambodia or Laos is that they are close to Thailand. To answer the question - I would choose Laos and it's because of the people and gov't.

Me, too, but they added a few steps to the process last year at the revenue office.  I got back 2500 this year, for 2018.  All the banks seem to be cooperative about issuing statements for the tax office, free of charge.

The year I got a ATM type card that I used to get my tax money back. Now that I have the card I suspect the process will be even faster/easier.

It's difficult to open a bank account in CIMB because they require a Thai citizen guarantor which I find ridiculous. How did you manage to open one?

I've got two accounts at CIMB and have had them for 9 years? now. I just walked in with 1.5 million and they were happy to help me. And for what it's worth I also have Bangkok Bank and SCB accounts. I've never had a problem opening a bank account in Thailand.
