Just came to Thailand a few days ago, similar situation, flew in together with my wife.

I just want to confirm, indeed you need to choose 'Non-O Stay with Thai Family (more than 60 days)".

My embassy (not UK) later (after the initial application) requested proof of return / onward flight, which was then again requested by the airline before embarking on the flight, so I'd strongly recommend you use a reservation such as onwardticket so you can show it in case it's needed. I had something similar.

How the process works is a bit different with each embassy as I understand it, mine took almost 2 months to process my visa, but I've read the UK one is quite fast.

I am a EU (eastern europe) citizen. I get paid regularly every month by an Australian company. 

I am considering starting to receive this salary directly in my Thai bank account and bypass my home country.

Should I worry about the Thai government asking me for income tax? Theory and practice may be different - has anyone had issues in practice with a similar situation? 

It would be a decent sum, about 400K baht per month if that's relevant.

I live here with my Thai wife, non-O visa, >180 days in a year although I am moving back to my country in January - so I suppose I won't even be a tax resident then ...

Is this a good way to "optimize" my tax situation?

I have a question:

I have a normal Thai BAHT account at SCB.

Can I receive Dollars, for example a $15000 transfer without issues? and they will exchange it to baht? at a reasonable rate?

I already had a 60 day extension based on marriage (due to expire on 25 Nov) and went to Chaeng Wattana for a new Covid extension. Initially the officer wasn't sure I can have another extension, but after asking a colleague they agreed I can get a new extension for Covid.

 

They gave me an "Under Consideration" stamp, and to return on 24 Nov.

 

Is it likely that they will give me 2 months until 25 January?

Is it possible they only give me 30 days?

For an update on this, I went again today and got my passport stamped until 8 January (so I guess that's 60 days from the time of application, so it would have been better to apply later).

The process to get it is simple: just show them your passport, get a queue and you're sent to L2 counter, which just takes your passport and gets it back to you with the extension. The receipt to show I paid 1900 was not necessary.

I arrived there at 7am, and at 9am I was finished. 7am is a good time to arrive and you can get an early queue.

No, all that was needed was what ubonjoe wrote in the beginning of this thread.

OP, just to add...,if you intend to move to annual extension from your 60 day extension, you really need to deal with immigration where your living as those annual extensions can involve home visit etc. Side note does where you live deal with  Nonthanburi immigration or CW?

As you stated you do not live in Pathum Thani refusing the extension was doing their job correctly.

It would be easy to prove I live at the Nonthaburi address. Is that relevant for this issue?

I deal with CW immigration, Bangkok (for example) and that means any immigration business needs to be done at that office. 

I guess it is what it is.

We live in Nonthaburi, but I don't know, officially, technically I suppose I live with my wife in Pathum Thani since that's where her tabien baan places her? I have no idea.

I entered in Suvarnabhumi, entirely possible I lost the original card and I found another one, might be my fault..

The application clearly said 60 days on the front page.....not sure how to proceed. I go back to Pathum Thani immigration and try to teach them about their job? not sure how successful that will be.

I went today to Chaeng Wattana for a 60 day marriage extension for my multi-entry marriage visa that expires in November this year.

After 6 hours of waiting in queues and 2 separate officers checking all my papers and clearing me, during the final moments of getting the visa, apparently they won't give it to me because my wife's tabien baan is in Pathum Thani.

I immediately went to Pathum Thani immigration, where they commented that my arrival card doesn't have a stamp, that i need an embassy letter, photos with wife, bank. Looked like they had no idea about the extension, treated me as if I was asking for a 1yr extension.

What are my options?

Try other immigrations, Nonthaburi? Muang Thong Thani? feels like lottery, with different requirements luck and people every time.

Can I go to another place such as Singapore and return after 1 day ? will that work ? (since the visa expires in NOV)

Very upsetting day. Advice would be helpful.

Honestly, I usually don't believe in this stuff, but I do think that's along the lines of what was happening. He had a hostile demeanor, questioning me (what do you do here, etc) and then maybe he was testing the waters with my wife to see if he could get something. Probably a good idea to take all documents with me whenever going on a trip, thanks.

My wife talked with him in Thai but I suppose anything is possible. Maybe she misunderstood. He held me a long time, 5-10 min so it was a bit odd

Who told you this? If you are on your wife's tabien baan (no need to start a discussion about difference between blue and yellow book, this would take this thread offtopic) or not, is irrelevant.

I have a multiple entry non O visa based on marriage that’s valid until November

I was supposed to go outside the country every 90 days which is up soon (admitted until may 6). What is the situation right now with COVID and what should I do?
 

Also last time I got in they said that I need to get on the wife’s tabien baan. But I still haven’t done it. Is that a big issue?
