For another visa exempt by air entry how long would I need to stay in KL before returning to Thailand, could I return after one day?
Also considering going to KL to apply for SETV, is KL a better option for this than Penang?

Thanks for the reply.
With my arrival history (2 visa exempt by air since early November) and time spent in Thailand (approx 4 months out of the last 5 months) what are my chances of getting back in to Thailand on a visa exempt entry by air?

With the coronavirus outbreak in UK likely to peak in next couple of weeks I would like to remain in Thailand for another month and am trying to decide best option with the changing requirements and restrictions for entry to Thailand.
My travel history as follows:
- 7 weeks Thailand November to December 2019 visa exempt plus 30 day extension
- 5 weeks back in UK
- 8 weeks Thailand January to March 2020 visa exempt plus 30 day extension
Options:
Fly to Laos/Cambodia/Bali and return and apply for visa exempt
Land border crossing at Ranong closest to Samui where I am now
Appreciate any feedback on best solution

Thank you both for your quick replies.
I have been staying in the same Samui hotel for 9 nights and can check they have completed the TM30.
For the other option, would a week away in Bali before returning on visa exempt be less problematic?

I usually visit Thailand 3 times per year for a week with visa exemption.
Currently taking a work break and have been here for three weeks and now would like to stay for total six weeks to mid December, but also come back in late January for a month.
An extension to current 30 days is simplest for current stay, but would it impact likelihood to get back in January next year.
Alternatively I could leave before 30 days for a week and return on visa exemption for a week.
Not sure which option will create less attention when I return in January.
Stick or twist - to stay or not to stay?

What did you decide to do and how quiet is it on Koh Pha-ngan?
I am in a similar situation in Koh Samui. Most tourists have gone home now and in Chaweng most hotels at 20% occupancy or lower and planning to close this week or next.
Worst case I could stick it out in a rented accommodation and food from 7/11.
Right now that seems better than heading back to catastrophe that is unfolding in the UK.
