I lost in 2024 my valet which had the thai motorcycle license, and also my Thai pink ID card for foreigners. When i went to the DLT office in Bangkok for renewal driver licence. The first message i got, was to go get a pink ID card, no way around this one ( i tried), which i found very strange as not everyone has this card. I had it, (but they didnt know i had one) but amazingly i lost it in the same valet. So, i had to go to Police station to report lost driver license, lost pink ID card for foreigner. Then the trip went to Amphur office (government office i got the ID card), to create a new pink ID card, which went smoothly (had to show police report). Then with new id card in hand, went back to DLT office with the new pink id card, and the police report, and got a new driver license. Im still a vbit confused as why i had to have a thai id card to get a thai driver license. That was no issue back in time when i first got the license. This is in Bangkok Sukhumvit.
