applied for Non "O" in Oz last week. Typed in date of arrival and flight no, Was not asked for ticket. This was my second Non "O" E=visa this year and not asked for ticket first time either.

I suspect you are applying for e-visa as it is not a requirement applying to embassy in canberra by post for this visa.
