  1. prices are provided by supply and demand.

When equilibrium is broken it will be finding a new one.

In my opinion prices have already being inflated and I am not sure how much an expensive Thailand is attractive at tourists eyes, considering that the service quality stays the one of a cheap destination. It actually worsen due to covid and people being fired.

This will benefit mainly expensive hotels where customers do not really care spending 8usd more per night, but it will be not great for hotel who target price-sensitive customers (which are the most in Thailand).

Push them to get it extended.

Technically your extension ends when you no longer have a valid re-entry permit but immigration will not know about it. It has happened to many people.

Do you mean that if you have a Visa valid until 2023 but your WP has been cancelled by your employer whilst your visa hasn’t , you can keep using it as long as it’s a re-entry one?

Test and Go....too much expense, too much uncertainty, too much inconvienience.

Will be back after it goes.

It is Thailand , land of U-turns but there was an article on BKK post where the GOVT was seeking to

    - Cap price of PCRs at 900THB (which is far less what I paid in Italy in January - 150e as there was high demand due to omicron).

    - Cap price of medical treatment for no symptoms / mild symptoms to something like 4K for 6 days 8K for longer than 7 days treatment;  allowing to quarantine home.

It is still not extremely cheap but it is not as expensive as it is today.

If  you are saying that the vaccination QR code on the Mo Phrom (หมอพร้อม) app can now be verified with the EU verification apps, this is great news. I was hoping that this would become possible.

As I have no access to anybody here with the Mo Phrom code in the north of Italy, I should appreciate it if you or anybody else could double check this. If you read Italian, you can use the Italian verification app VerificaC19 that can be downloaded from the Google Play store to read someone's Mo Phrom QR code with your phone, otherwise use the app CovidCheck.lu of Luxembourg, which lets you chose English.

With the Luxembourg app, you should get a result something like this:

    1696702327_CovidQRreaderLU.thumb.jpg.25b4895f8bddc40bb6afe313ec209fcf.jpg

I meant that also the Yellow book released by Thailand was accepted in Italy by law. I used it at immigration and to enter to restaurants. Only very few restaurants who did not know well the law didn't want to take the risk to let me in as I didn't have the QR code but just a paper certificate.

I scanned the EU QR code made from MorProm with VerificaC19, it works . My problem is that my family name has two parts and they messed up so now it is not showing my full name. But my GF who has a single family name has all properly set.

    cheers!

Must be Italian, EU or have specific reasons from TH:

Most travelers who have been in risk countries in the previous 14 days before arrival are not allowed to enter Italy. This entry restriction does not apply to Italian Citizens and lawful permanent residents, Citizens of the European Union or the Schengen area and their family members, as well as holders of long-term resident status and their family members, Travelers who have a proven and stable emotional relationship (even if not cohabiting) with Italian/EU/Schengen citizens or natural persons who are legally resident in Italy (long-term residents), and who need to reach their partner's home/domicile/residence in Italy, and Travelers with work, health, study reasons as well as with urgent matters and those returning home.

Let's wait as rules are going to possibly change in March/End March. Cases and deaths are still high in Italy nowadays and Green Pass needed to travel or enter all venues. As Sinovac, Sinopharm, Sputnik and Astra TH are not accepted, a tourist with no green pass will be pretty much stuck.

AZ TH is accepted in Italy as equivalent vaccine to European AZ since November 2021.

I have been in Italy during Christmas holidays and my 2 AZ shots have been enough to enter everywhere.

now with the EU QR code from MorProm is gonna be even easier.

  6. maybe see another doctor if you are not satisfied of the first one. I think causes may be so many...

I have a dermatises at my mustache, neck, scalp and chest area which comes on and off. It causes itchniess and dryness. When it is on, I put a two different creams depending on the sevirity of irritation ; if not very itchy nizoral - if too itchy a cortison cream (or lotion for the scalp) ,elomet, for 3-4 days.

Thanks Sheryl, I must have overlooked it. As one gets older seeing everything on these mobile app devices becomes harder, much prefer a larger PC screen, but not available AFAIK for the Mor Phrom procedures.

Were you able to change it? How?

I booked my yellow paper international certificate and went to pick it up around 2 weeks ago. My nationality is correctly written there.

Today I went on the app to request the digital international certificate; it was already issued (I guess as result of the paper version one) but I result as Thai nationality. In my case I did not overlook as the paper version has correctly stated my real nationality; tho I need to change the electronic one.

I received both jabs through Expatvac.

In your case, I would get the 2nd shot of AZ through the local hospital and then look for a booster shot next year.

    thanks!

i took AZ when there were no news of any Pfizer in the country so was the only choice.
now that there is choice i would prefer to avoid a second shot of it; hence i asked

  9. Chris how did you get your first jab? always through the website?

I had my first shot through local hospital (AZ) but i would like to get pfizer as second one. But expactvac does only allow to apply for first doses. Failing would mean being not eligible to any vaccine in the future.

Do they actually check it or can i apply?

Thankyou for your answer! Actually I knew that already, but what I do not know is,how to determine, that I am not sick from it any more? I mean,if I have the antibodies, and I want to have a helthcertificate, how does that work out???

you do a PCR to check if you are still sick and an antibody to check if you had it in the past.

there is no 1-stop solution as far as I know.

I also am very satisfied with the Xiaomi air purifiers.  If buying, pay attention to the effectiveness per sq./m.  The units pictured are good for about 40-50 sq/m rooms.  I have a large 65 sq/m studio and use two units, one on each end of the apartment.

I have Xiaomi 3H and it struggles with a 40sqm rooms. Today when outside PM2.5 (not AQI) is 120 its capable to reduce to 30-40 which is still not really healty (max average in one day should be below 20).

    cheers!

    No chance with that.

Travel insurance often excludes it and i wouldn't be surprised if health insurance will

actually some companies like April made some annconcment on their website saying that the COVID-19 is covered under the normal policy limitations (ie max benefit etc)

  13. 7 minutes ago, Sheryl said:

    The differences are:

    1. April TH will drop you at age 90. No guarantee of lifetime cover. If you are not planning to live out your old age here this may not matter but for me it does.

    2. April TH comes under Thai insurance regulations. These are much looser than EU regs and among other things goves them the right to raise premiums based on changes in your health or your claim history and you will find language to that effect in their policy.  Now historically they have not done this (unlike other Thai insurers) but they legally can.

    3. April TH does not underwrite their own policies, the underwriter is LMG a a Thai company.  Hence they do not have as much control on the policy terms. April Int does their own underwriting.

    4. Since April TH is basically hired by LMG to manage/administer their product there is also some possibolity that LMG might in future put someone else in that role.

On plus side, since April TH is actually LMG insurance it can meet Thai Imm requirements if you are on O-A visa or if insurance requoremebt is later extended to other visa types. Also avoid what can be several hour time lag in getting decisions on coverage. With the international policies the April TH office still handles things but has to get approval from France for some things.

    1) well I don't plan to live here for more than 2-3 years. So the 90years limitation is not my concern atm. But, now that you make me think about,  a good point of the International is that maybe I can shift coverage to another country without having to start from scratch (ie if any serious disease pops up in these 2-3 years, not risking to have them excluded when i move to another country)

    2,3,4) very clear thanks!

No I am on B Visa, in case things change I think my company will adapt the current health coverage they provide us to conform this requirement.

    this helped ????

No, not HK. France and governed by EU laws. I got my policy through AA Brokers.

You will find pretty much only negative reviews, for anyone and anything, on trustpilot. People usually go there only when they have a complaint. If you are looking for an insurer that has no negative online reviews, does not exist. All the more reason to ask a broker. But needs to be a good broker with a lot of experience with expat health insurance.

One of the big advantages to going through a good broker is that they will assist with any issues in making claims.  I have gotten excellent support from AA brokers (i use Jenny there, [email protected]) and also had no problem getting claim covered by April.

    Hi Sheryl,

The broker from AA told me there is little difference between April Int and April Th. Mostly in the days of coverage outside the resident country zone. He said the TH policy being part of April wont suffer of any weird raise. They have big raise eacch 5 years - ie 26-30 ; 31-35 etc

Did your broker suggested you otherwise or it is just according to your experience?

    Thanks!
