Changed O-A retirement to O-A marriage at Udon Thani last month using Ubonjoes checklist. Udon required a copy of wife’s name change to mine and one witness at IO when I did the paperwork and a different witness during the home visit. Home visit was short and at our convenience, the wanted to come in the morning and wife was busy so told them to come at 2 in the afternoon. The IO called today to let me know the approval had come back from Kohn Kean. As stated in other posts when making a change the effect date is the day you hand in the paper work. My old extension was good until 19 Jan the new date is 13 Jan, so if making the change don’t do it too early. My thanks to ubonjoe and Peter Denis for all the guidance.

Changed from O-A Retirement to O-A Marriage at Udon on 14 Jan, no mention of Health Insurance

Applied for my Permission to Stay yesterday at Udonthani and made the switch from O-A Retirement to O-A Marriage. All and I mean ALL the paper work was accepted and now have a waiting approval stamp in passport and to return 13 Feb. My last permission to stay ended 19 Jan, so waited as Ubonjoe recommended. So a little time spent saved me from buying useless insurance, thanks to Peter Denis and Ubonjoe.

Udon thani Marriage extension requirements
in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Posted
Completed my marriage extension in Jan at Udon, documents they required not on your list:
Two copies of everything
Original Marriage Certificate (returned)
Kor Ror 5 (wife’s name change)
Yellow Book
One witness at time of application at Immigration with copies of their ID card and Blue book
Three pictures, one in living room, one in bed room, and one outside house showing house number.
During house visit they require another witness with copy of ID and House Book.
Used the money in bank sowas not asked where it came from, only checked to make sure it was deposited for 2 months.
In the past I used the income method with Embassy letter and was not questioned and they accepted it in English.
Hope this helps
