In my case the actual bill came in under the initial estimate, recall around THB1,000. The confirmation of the Pathology Report was conveyed at the appointment when the stitches were removed.

  2. Circa twelve months ago had a BCC identified and removed at Samitivej. All the staff were professional, helpful and caring. Quoted fee included the initial bandage change 48 hours after the procedure, and subsequent removal of stitches.

    May assist your considerations.

  3. In my recent experience at CW the IO initial response was that proof of funds from abroad was required. I had bank books, (prior and current), showing I maintained the required funds for a number of years.

It was not until the IO flicked through my passport and noted previous extensions of stay of my prior O-A. From then on it was all good

  4.

    Background:

    Previously stayed A-O Visa.

Delayed period outside Thailand due to travel restrictions. Visa since expired.

Thai Bank account maintained since August 2013. Balance has never dipped below THB800K since May 2018.

    BKK apartment lease maintained.

    Return Plan:

    Apply/receive all necessary travel approvals.

Arrive Visa exempt, 30 day stamp.

After 15 days complete and lodge form TM87 for O Visa.

Subsequently apply O Visa for Retirement.

Perusing past posts I don’t believe I will need to remit an additional THB800K given my existing Bank account. (I do plan to send additional funds, but plan to transfer in smaller amounts on a needs basis).

However will I need to provide evidence of the remittance of the funds since the account was opened. Given time these may be difficult to immediately locate.

Do plan to maintain a level of Health Insurance with a more beneficial personal coverage.

Appreciate any thoughts if this is doable, or if there is anything I have overlooked.

    Thank you in advance.

    Thanks Peter,

I was thinking the same as you in not letting my extension of stay slip.

But I was thinking differently in that I intend to start my insurance about 1 week before my current extension of stay finishes lets say on the 24th June.

I then go to Immigration on the 25th June and my insurance will be on the TGIA database.

I go to immigration once and the worst that can happen is the IO not giving me a whole year extension, but ending my next extension when my health insurance finishes on 24 June 2021.

I would rather have a 51 week extension than to go to Immigration twice.

    Is my thinking right?

    Cheers

    Keith

Extended my O-A at Chaeng Wattana this past week using a similar strategy and received my extension until the date of the expiry of my insurance. As the IO was perusing my application/documents I was informed that I would only receive my extension to the expiry of the insurance, viz 51 week extension.
