  1. So confusing.......all these rules and changes.

I am trying fly to the USA with my "wife" to the USA.

She is Thai and also has a German Passport.

Only one Pfizer vaccine 2 weeks ago.

I interpreted the rules that the fact she has been in Thailand since our last USA trip in 2019.... Not coming from one of the banned countries listed.... That she could travel with a negative covid test 72 hours before the Nov 7 flight.

That flight also arrives in San Fran on Nov 7.  Only a brief layover on Korea..not leaving the airport.

I know Nov 8 you have to be fully vaccinated.

I bought these tickets before they reported this Nov 8 rule change.

She will fly under the German Passport.

I am really trying to figure out if she is going to be allowed to enter the USA.

Based on what I have read .... It is just under the previous rules and Thailand is not on that banned list.

Anyone able to decipher all this?  I  sure would appreciate your knowledge.

Ahh, you mean their PRO-American, pro-social justice, anti-racism and anti-discrimination positions....

Considering that I believe the majority of players in both leagues are black, its hardly surprising that the players and apparently now their owners are supporting their calls for, among other things, an end to unjustified police killings of black Americans.

I watch the pro athlete for the game that is played, I watch the actors for the movies and I could not give a rats ass about their politics or stance on anything.
I don’t care what milk they drink, the shoe contract they have or the pimple cream they use.

Whether they stand up or sit down before a game means about as much as whether or not they took a pre-game <deleted>.

I spend more thought on which banana purchase at a 7-11

You think the owners really care... hahaha.
    ????????????

  3. Is anyone watching the American NFL here in Thailand ?
I would love to know how you are doing it ...  what service you may be using if you would like to enlighten those of us interested in it.

I had HULU and ExpressVPN but HULU seems to be playing this cat and mouse games on those IP addresses making it a problem for live tv.

Thanks to those with real help and information to share

If you read correctly I stated I wasn't talking about folks walking point A to B. Thais only walk because they have to, but those pesky farang power walking on the street.

I also walk about 9km a day for exercise,  and to get someplace to walk safely, you must also use the more undesirable roads.
Some things we just have to deal with whether we like it or not.

Getting to a main road I must use a road that is very busy and it is not built for two cars and a human.  Countless times a car or motorbike has come way closer than meets my comfort level.

    The choices are minimal.

The infrastructure and city planning has not been a strongpoint here obviously.

When I get a scooter I will try to take it to a place more conducive to walking safely.......and I will politely try to avoid those on foot regardless of their reasons for walking.

You see if they were the regular mini skirted streetwalkers I'd have no problems, no these are the old guys going for a walk where there are no sidewalks and alot of speeding cars and only one lane each way.

I have been in Thailand for more than a year with no car and no motorbike.  Since my wings have not developed yet I have little choice than to walk on the road at times when there is no sidewalk.  My head is on a swivel for fear of being run over.  It is actually the worst part of being here.

I deal with the situation the best I can.... and yet I do not cry about it.

  6. I doubt it “catches up” to him.  They do not appear to have a credit reporting system like they do in the states.

You will not have some collection agency trying to get after you.

Just walk and forfeit the deposit.

I thanked my condo office personnel for always being helpful, told them the day I was leaving, left the keys and that was that.

The condo owners got their two months.  I left it nice and clean.

As stated before, there is certainly no guarantee you were going to get all of that deposit back anyway.
Why stay in a place you do not want to be ?

    Life is too short ....

  7. Firstly, I apologize if this is redundant because I am sure there are previous posts regarding this subject but I must be challenged at the search function because I cannot find them here.

I need to have a couple things mailed to me from the USA to Thailand.  The items could be placed in a birthday card envelope.  So basically a regular envelope is the size.

There is no particular rush...so overnight is not a need........but I would be to be able to track it.

Just wondering if you could share your method of shipping,  how long it took to receive a regular shipped “letter” and ballpark costs.

I swear I remember reading about DHL on here..... but I cannot find the previous posts.

Thanks for your time and input.

  8. Well,  when I went to Immigration last week and I explained my situation.....  IO said,  "Go to Laos"

I went yesterday (Monday) and when asked what I needed.   I said " I want to apply for an extension"   They took my passport and 30 minutes or so later...... I had my 30 day extension.

I had the passport in hand and I told him I wanted to apply for the 90 day Non Immigrant O Visa.... and we have a very brief back and forth....and I ask him how much it costs.  He acted like he did not want to do this.  He mentions Laos again...says it is cheaper if I go to Laos.

I tell him I really do not want go to Laos....  how much does it cost to get one here at this office.

He does not answer right away...  and after this brief pause and thought... he tells me "8000 baht"

I try confirm... "it costs 8000 baht to get the Non Immigrant O Visa from you here in Udon Thani ??"

    Not a firm yes...but a "yes".
I leave shaking my head a little.

Has anyone heard anything like this ?      I do believe they do not want to do the processing here.

  9. First of all...... thank you all for your advice....and Peter Denis,  your roadmap is very helpful indeed. Very Helpful.  Thank you !

I read that stamp about re-entry.    I was under the mistaken impression that the little "Departure Card" that was stapled on the page was what that re-entry was all about.  So when they took that at the Airport... I thought I was good to go.

Now.... obviously,  I know better.    I would have done a multiple re-entry in a heartbeat had I been blessed with the knowledge I have today.

A little <deleted> that IO summarily dismissed me and said "go to Laos".     But we play by their rules to stay.   And I love it here.

So...  with most of your advice and assistance via this forum,  I am better prepared and informed.

    I am truly grateful.

    Respectfully

  10. Greetings to all,  I have been reading and reading this forum and I am just not sure what my best course of action may be.   I will certainly appreciate feedback and if someone may be able to share their wisdom and point me the right direction.

    background....

    May 03, 2019

I secured the Non Imm “O”  single entry from the Thai Consulate in Dallas Texas.

    May 16, 2019

I entered via plane to Bangkok and was stamped in for admission until August 13, 2019

Very quickly I got the Thai bank account,  deposited more than 800,000b

    August 06, 2019

Passport stamped with the Extension of Stay to the date of August 13, 2020

    and now the stupidity....

Trip to the USA planned ...

Leaving  Bkk airport on Nov 27, 2019

I was under the incorrect assumption that the little TM 7 form stapled on the page stating “Departure Card” was what I needed to give to Immigration

    and yep,  they took it.

Now I know ..... I was supposed to pay for a re-entry Visa....

As I arrive back in Bangkok ,  I learned my valuable lesson.

    ”retirement visa” extension voided.

New stamp on Dec 11, 2019 by Bkk immigration

Admitted to the date of January 09, 2020.

I went to Immigration in Udon on Dec 16, 2019 and it was mega crowded.  Looked like all the immigrant workers had the place full.

I get my number called and the gentleman from Immigration  asks me to come back.   I know why...  they were flooded.

He would help me out then....

I go visiting  another province for the holidays and I return yesterday to Immigration.

I explain my mistake, show all the appropriate stamps.....

I am told.  “ You need to go to Vientiane, Laos “

I have been told I could ask for a tourist visa in Udon ?   Giving me another 30 days...?

Am I ultimately going to have to go to Laos ?   Basically start this “Retirement Visa” process all over again ??

    Your feedback is truly appreciated.

    -Respectfully

    Idiot
