  1. I know it’s not standard but they did to me the first time I went for one. Happened in Phuket, and they had a box of passports labelled by sections by dates when I went to pick it up.
  2. You might get both stamps the same day, if you are due to expire that day and there is someone with authority working who can do it. If not they will give you the consideration stamp and you're legally allowed to stay until the day specified. If you have plans to leave CM before then you can try showing up early to see if your passport is ready. I got one of my extensions a few days early by showing up and asking for my passport, it was waiting in a big box full of passports ready for pickup.
  3. Have there been reports of someone going back with a consideration stamp and then not getting the full 60 days covid extension? Or is it basically a done deal when you get the consideration stamp?
  4. I got the under consideration stamp and I go back on the last day of my current visa for the second stamp.
  5. OP said they were scared of naming and shaming the company until they leave the country. But if someone has only good experiences with a local insurance company it would be nice if they could name them. Relying on insurance for health emergencies is a big risk but also very important. If you were looking for a new insurance company and you came across a post like yours that was a year old and perhaps from a now-inactive account, you too would wish they named the insurance company they spoke so highly of.
  6. That's my own phrasing... her English isn't perfect and sometimes supervisors, managers and department heads are interchangeable for her. But the stories she tells me indicates whoever is in charge of a branch is given a lot of latitude to do what they want. The front line staff are clerks, like you described them. I don't think they take initiative on their own. My friend doesn't, she said she's a few promotions away from being able to do anything independently. Or maybe she just thinks that because she's young.
  7. In case this info helps anyone, I got my second covid extension (originally arrived visa exempt) in Phuket Town and it went smoothly with no questions asked, and nothing about TM30. They're very efficient in Phuket and I haven't heard anyone being questioned, even people here since last March. Always get 100 baht change back from the fee too. I know an IO and last night asked her about what's going on at CW. She's not aware of any changes in requirements for these extensions but she said individual managers can set their own rules. It doesn't surprise me this would happen in Bangkok. When IOs finish their training they can request to go to different areas. In a country like Thailand, the most ambitious would want to go to Bangkok. Maybe someone in Bangkok thinks being a harda55 will help their future career.
  8. Not in the entire world, but Thailand, Cambodia and Bali (and a few nationalities to Singapore) are the only places tourists can go in Southeast Asia.
  9. Phuket Town immigration has been giving the 60 day covid extension if you apply for it, regardless of whether or not you first did a 30 day extension. They did it for me and I’ve spoken to several others who got it. That was happening during August and September, it’s possible it could be different now or in November.
  10. I applied at Phuket Town 2 weeks before my 45 day exempt expires. I filled out the paperwork for the covid extension instead of the 30 day extension because others report this office is granting them. They went over my paperwork then took my passport and told me to come back on the last day of my visa (which is after Sept 27). Someone who went just a few days earlier was given a temporary stamp and told to bring their passport back on the last day of their visa.
