I own a house in the US (which is my legal domicile), have assets there, pay State and Federal taxes every year, and would have already returned if this pandemic had not raised its' ugly head making it safer to stay here than travel back to the US.
That's not even relevant though! As long as someone remains a citizen of their home country they are entitled to the rights and protection afforded by their home country unless they decide to renounce their citizenship...no matter where they may be anywhere on the face of the earth! The rights and protection afforded by citizenship do not mysteriously vanish because you are in another country.
Also, I really resent being called unethical, greedy, and selfish by someone who does not even know me, or know why I am visiting the Kingdom. Unfounded assumptions such as you've made are usually the mark of narrow-minded, judgemental and prejudiced people....so save your inflammatory and personal attacks for someone else.
As a taxpayer, I resent having to support illegals and US citizens that make poor decisions.

We were in Thailand when the China Virus broke out. Same as everyone else, we had weeks/months to decide what to do and decided to go back to the States end of Feb 2020. Those who chose to stay made their decision and need to suck it up like big boys and girls and deal with it.

Phuket seems to be bottom of the heap for Tourists.
You would think with all the C##p then Americans have been through with this awful Covid, they would be busting to get away to the Sun for a few weeks.
Maybe they are getting away, just not to Phuket.
Yeah, no "sun" in the US. Especially this time of the year! 555 (spoiler - the entire country is sunny, including Alaska.)
No need to travel and deal with other countries quarantines or take chances with other covid variants. ie Alpha, Beta, Gama... mickey, mouse...

For several months in the States you could choose which vaccine, Maderna or Pfizer. If you went to a Gov area, like Disneyland, where hundreds of vaccines were given in a day, then you get what is available at that location. BUT, you can drive to another location and get a different vaccine. Months ago a friend drove over 1 hour to get the Maderna when the Pfizer was available locally at one of those areas. Despite what others have been posting or implying, choices have been available. The persons age dictated when.
And of course now their are three choices available. Very easy to register online the location and choice of vaccine.

What do her tats say about her. Go to SE Asia and live like their is no tomorrow.
"30 year old Norwegian Nerid Høiness was found dead in the jungle of Vang Vieng, Laos. Killed by her japanese boyfriend "Ogu Hiroyuki" whom she met on the trip. She was traveling around along in south Asia learning to become a yoga-guru."

And when/if you finally get a vaccine, start thinking about a possible 3rd dose that may be required within 6-12 months after your second dose depending on the vaccine you were given.
Those thinking about herd immunity taking care of this China Virus will need to consider the herds of Chinese, and others, traveling to Thailand and what vaccine they may or may not have been given.

The upside of not being able to stay in Thailand the past year is, not having to think about how to avoid the types arrested or the nomads.

The farang is at fault. He could have easily avoided falling if he had even basic moto skills. The thai was riding normal thai style. If the farang can not accept this type of road culture and risks when riding, he should not be participating. Im always on red alert and everything seen or unseen is out to destroy me. No different attitude or mind set then when I am riding in the states.

I bet the Austrians getting shot wish they had a 2nd amendment and CCW laws. Carry Concealed Weapon. These anti-American anti gun hypocrites are just that. They would be the first that wish they had a gun when someone attacked their wife, broke into their home, robbed their business. And these are world problem so dont spew <deleted> about how its only a US problem.

Why not.
They seem to have the virus under control and they do make up approx 18% of the world population and are perhaps by tourist numbers spending and investing the most in Thailand travel/tourist/property industry.
Unfortunately, in the US, UK and many countries in Europe, the virus is out of control as the inhabitants of those nations feel their freedom of whatever is important.
Amazing that some actually believe and trust what China tells the world. Havent you learned anything the past 10 months.

ho... it should be something like methamphetamine drug. It was legal in USA long times ago and stop due to the same problem... people die and can not stop to eat this sh...t. But they were more slim.
The problem about the big city population to start to be fat in Thailand for some of them is that young people start to eat the same bad food as USA people do (and what they see learn in TV show commercial efficient propaganda)... fat dirty burger, sugar pizza, hormonal-fed chicken, sausages, colored food and drinks, lot of sugar every where (because sugar is very addictive as a drug, if you can not have it, you feel unhappy next), etc... it is as if they assimilated by copying the worst of what they see happening elsewhere. Very strange, but i do understand some big bad food companies how much money they do by the image they provide to be so... cool and to make their products so easily accessible (even if very expensive) while making believe that they are luxury products enhancing their image (which is quite easy with gullible people who have no level of study to understand and worry about what they are eating). It's so cool the world of Disney... it is not like it is new now... but for some country it is new and an idea of modern life to go with (and for Thailand it is very not good because they have a so good national food... maybe the best of Asian food).
I think, because of now they start to make Thailand forbidden to access for normal and respectful foreigners people due to scammer business with 5 stars hotel 2 weeks jail and 2 times expensive Thai insurance for half service you can find other places (at price they will never paid for and will make them leave Thailand), it should have soon more and more scammers people to try to survive by sale strange magic killer products then the jail will be full.
They will, soon, have to paid Laosian cheap workers for new jail to build.
The US is ranked 12th in obesity/BMI in the world. Need education about foods and dont be lazy about eating and cooking proper foods. Top 10:

There are people who will be happy to do this.
They have a house here and usually come for a minimum of three months. Sometimes six months.
In the village where I live I know of 6, possibly 8 that would jump at the chance.
Just 1,999,992 to go
Exactly right. We have a house and visit the wifes family for 3 months every year. Koh Samui is the closest to them and easy access. But, Thai locals, at least in her families area, dont want any tourists/travelers to come near them. They are very afraid so we will probably not go this year.

There is nothing normal politics about this president. He thinks he's a king above the rule of law and has no regard for democracy at home or abroad.
Really?? Please, tell us. Democrats wasted $35 Million and three years trying to prove it and failed. Yet, here you are still believing the fiction. So please, again, tell us what you know and why you did not share it during the investigation?

Is that sarcasm? Surely it is, right? he is declaring economic war with country that makes all your stuff. Despite what he thinks he cant buy it anywhere else like Thighland and Vietnam because the products made there are either Chinese or the components/ materials are. The Chinese are way smarter. I might not like everything they do but they are going to teach Trump a thing or two at the expense of the American economy. In short the man is a complete idiot and the Chinese are laughing.
Is that stupidity or sarcasm? The Chinese taught the world a "thing or two" with Chinese Virus. Yet, your comment seems passive about their lies and deceit that killed hundreds of thousands world wide.
The anti-Trumpers never disappoint.

A mans got to know his limitations (Harry Callahan). He clearly did not know, riding fast and without a helmet.
If he is in fact is a scammer and took advantage of others, then karma is working and correcting things.
I can not find any pics of the actual crash? Theirs always pics with the police and involved vehicles.

It never ceases to amaze me how much misinformation and disdain many on this forum have towards the US. Food shortages... lol My Thai wife and all her Thai friends and relatives feel much safer in the US then Thailand.
Also, farangs are viewed as coronavirus carrying and dangerous and the Thai do not want them around. We heard of instances where the local Thai requested the poo yai bann to tell the farangs to leave eating shops.
Maybe those two wanting to stay in Thailand knew about this:
"Safety guarantee added to lure tourists back to ‘Amazing Thailand"

Yes, he's so inclusive. For instance, at the signing the the 2 trillion plus emergency bill, a bipartisan effort, you know how many Democrats got invited? If your guess is higher than zero, you're overestimating. So are you going to launch that boot in the direction of Trump's bum?
Please tell us exactly what the Dems tried to put in the first 2 bills, ie Free abortion and AOC's Green New Deal, that never made it into the final bill? And why did the Dems take over a week, wasting valuable time, to write a bill that finally did get approved despite still being full of garbage, ie millions to liberal NPR and Art Centers that the average American can not afford to attend, that has nothing to do with the virus?
More facts for ya - Trump is rokin it with a 49% approval rating, several points higher then Obozo, and a 60% approval on handling the Chinese Virus. 60% is great because we all know, 35% will always complain as they dont care about facts and let hate drive their emotions and decisions.
Like they say, the devils in the details. Thank you.

For what it's worth I read a while back on a TVF post that it is the local cops jobs to confirm that they have been to your house, e.g. knowing that you reside there in case you passed away so that they can notify the embassy, and something on the lines that they can be audited and if they don't have the proof to satisfy an audit they get shifted or demoted, that said I am also in Issan and have never had a visit, but the cops are in the next village less than 400 metres away and know that I live here as I have a distinctive vehicle, plus they also know the wife's family.
There is an overstayer up the road, but mums the word ????
Live in Tha Lang, Phetchaburi with Thai wife. The local police took our pics and pics of our ID's and writes info into a journal notebook of sorts. He said they keep records of all the residents in our town. He said its in case something happens to the house or persons in it.
We live in a rural area and the police station is only a minute away. They know me and even ask me to help with their computers. Nothing threatening around here. One policeman even salutes me when he rides by.
Personally, I wish these guys were aggressive and hand out speeding tickets.

Obama convinced me about climate change science when he spent $12 million for water front property on Martha's Vineyard. Obama spent the $12 million to save someone else from wasting their money and drowning.

The coated steel material is the same, coming from the same Bluescope steel-coating facility.
But the rest of processes required to become the finished panel could be quite different in quality due to variations introduced by third party roll-formers and their equipment.
Therefore claiming that Bluescope roofs are of uniform high quality and warranted for long time is quite misleading since the only thing that certain is the quality of the warranted coated material.
.....
You raise in interesting point. These Bluescope retailers are a Franchise and typically that includes contractual agreements and mandatory requirements. Possible requirements may include approved metal forming equipment, material formed to stringent specifications, use of specific hardware fasteners on installs...
The installed panels certainly fit together very well as did the trim pieces. And the hardware fasteners were high quality and clearly specific for the intended purpose of roofing.
Learning more about this would be good but their is no way my interpreter would go for another Q and A session.

Theyll claim anything to get a sale, take everything with a pinch of salt, check every sheet for damage on delivery, I had two panels mangled...........oh and they wanted paying to re deliver
Did you buy from the same shop????
If you have a good installer, they will check all deliveries for you. But, its always prudent to personally check deliveries. This holds true even in the US.
