The OP did not say he called yesterday. Read the OP again.

He apparently said non-o for retirement but meant a OA long stay visa.

Yeah I did read it he didn’t actually say when he called but looks like last night our time since he posted it very early this morning our time. I thought it sounded like an OA but that would still be highly unusual for a Thai Consulate in the United States to tell him 800K baht when USD in the United States is perfectly ok. Odd. He didn’t necessarily say when he called but he posted it early this morning which was Monday afternoon in NY. Just sayin it would not be the first time anyone has ever posted anything false.

I bought an Android Box at MBK for 3,000 b I get everything 4 HBO, NFL I got it on 4th floor

How does yours work? I bought an android box years ago for HBO and all it could get was a few porn channels. So I went with AIS instead. Did you have someone program yours? Or did you do it yourself? I don’t know you might be more skilled with that stuff than me. I’m trying to find IPTV and access something like you have or better if available.

Does magicbox give you access to HBO and newest television shows? How does it work? Feel free to message me.

That's correct. Just go for a paid IPTV provider from 10USD/m. They'll have all the VOD. Torrents are another way for free.

Do you know of any legitimate IPTV providers here in Thailand? Feel free to message me if you do.

I'm told some VPN services ban the use of torrents if you're connecting to a US server. If I were ever to download a torrent (ahem) my VPN provider IPVanish provides non-US servers to connect to and specifically states that anyone attempting to download torrents via a US server will have their account suspended

I don’t think VPN works with torrent that’s dark web stuff you’re talking about tor servers that actually do mask your location vpn doesn’t actually do that in reality.

Looks like Thai media is reporting no casualty's mercifully looks like a bad shot cancel that vinyl board????

Actually I think he started too early probably before there were enough people out yet to shoot. I think they said he started at like 4AM yesterday and it sounds like he probably chickened out because if he fired 20 shots with one of those riffles he could have hit people if he wanted to it’s not that hard you don’t have to be that skilled with it to shoot people at close range. I think he flipped out probably heard about the shooting up here last week and wanted to make his own statement I guess. Then it looks like he got out there and probably still wanted to show people that he was serious at least so he fired some ammunition but I think he realized it was harder than he thought to take a life that’s what it sounds like happened. I didn’t hear what kind of rifle he had but if he fired 20 shots I’m assuming it was some kind of an automatic rifle or maybe he just had a hunting rifle or something with a lot of bullets who knows.

Next time if you start feeling like causing mayhem and carnage please consider a game of Grand Theft Auto no body really gets hurt it’s fake blood and no prison time. Just a tip.

I do mine myself ...it only takes a few hours for 1900bt plus travel costs .... so now I am confused by your posting. You said earlier you'd just done your 7th extension, so if you did the last 2 yourself you have paid 125,000bht. I bet they roll out a red carpet for you and you get your own throne when you goto immigration. There is no wonder why you have had zero problems

You misunderstood me I stopped using my agent when I did my 2019 extension last year and this year. And yes I know it’s only a 1900 baht processing fee. I was talking about my marriage extension in the past I’d literally have it done the SAME DAY I applied for it because my agent had contacts in immigration on their payroll down in Bangkok at least. But they cut that off in about December 2018 after they finally got a handle on immigration so it stopped. So yeah I’ve done my last two extensions myself here at my local immigration office. I don’t use the agent anymore that’s why I actually liked the changes over a year ago now because we don’t get prayed upon like we were before especially by agents looking to make a buck. The last time I used the agent was in January 2018.

LOL, are you sure you live in Thailand? There is a big agency right in front of my IO advertising visa/extension services. One even asked me 1000 baht for a residency certificate in 1 hour.

Well yeah I’m sure they’re still in business sure but they don’t have free rain over immigration anymore like they used to. In the past I’d just pay my visa agent in Bangkok 25K baht and they’d get my annual extension done in less than a few hours not months hours for a marriage extension!!! But they’re not allowed to just walk in ahead of the line and quickly bribe immigration anymore like they used to be able to get away with. I’ve done my last two extensions now myself with no agent and it wasn’t really that bad I was wasting my money on that agent for the first 3 years I lived here approximately.

A residency certificate done fast yeah right they couldn’t even do that under their old rules LMAO ???? or I’d surely have PR status by now lol.

Oh my god, IT IS THE TRUTH!! They told me and my wife! Then you are free to believe what you want. It varies from office to office and unfortunately my office is famous for being like this. 4 years ago there was even one guy IN the IO getting money under the table to do 'quick' 90 day reports.

Yes well I just received my 7th extension last month there’s clearly a lot of misinformation all over this site. Some of it is maybe half accurate but mostly a lot of over exaggerating and outright false information.

No, he called again yesterday in the late afternoon and reiterated they want fuel money with my wife too.

Well that hardly seems believable but possible. Doubtful they’d be so open about it. This is why some offices prefer you bring witnesses for your first extension instead of a home visit which was a lot easier for us my first year here.

  11. That’s a good question actually about the coffee because I had a similar experience but jeez did they actually ask you for money? That I find hard to believe in today’s Thailand but ever since the last immigration boss left maybe they’re slowly going back to the old ways who knows. When I did my marriage extension last month the immigration supervisor did me a pretty decent favor because a few of the dates of my deposits were a little early but it wasn’t a big deal she called their division hq and she got it pre-approved for me over the phone so I’m good now.

After the immigration supervisor told me that she had called their head office and it was approved she jokingly said that I should bring either cookies or donuts or something like that I don’t recall exactly in March when I go back for my one year stamp. Now she was saying it jokingly laughing as she said it in fact but I smiled and said sure I’d be happy to. So I might actually bring donuts when I go back but I’m kind of scared to because I don’t want anyone getting the wrong idea like it’s a bribe or something and it’s really not, technically there could be ethical issues but it’s nothing I haven’t done before in my home country in the past 30 years dealing with my own government with their little clicks and their good ol’ boy system it’s no different anywhere. But I am probably going to bring in donuts just to be nice because I did say I would. I know she’ll remember they always remember us. I remember last year she was another immigration worker who actually did my extension last year but this year now she’s the boss. When she told me it was approved she probably saw my facial expression change and I probably just gave her a free read on me which is fine because I’ll get them to walk it through for me in one day if I can. I will bring it directly into her office though and try to keep it at least a little bit discreet of course I’d be embarrassed if I show up and she’s gone or something especially if no one else remembers. I’m still contemplating whether or not that’s a good idea. I think it’s ok because I said I would but the same supervisor better be there and she better remember.
