  1. For the corporate field, you can just put down "not applicable", they will take it.
  2. The Pfizer vaccines at MedPark is available to foreigners. I just got mine there. Please try again!
  3. I'd like to find out the typical amount of tips for a thai masseuse and hairstylist in Bangkok. What will be a reasonable amount? Is it based on percentage? Is there a minimum and maximum?
  4. MedPark Hospital offers Pfizer (the original version, not the bivalent). Here is the link where you can sign-up: https://medparkhospital.jotform.com/itmedpark/MedparkPfizerGroup
  5. Thai Travel Clinic (Hospital for Tropical Diseases, Faculty of Tropical Medicine, Mahidol University) offers the vaccine. Cost is 478 bhat. Here is the link: https://www.thaitravelclinic.com/cost.html
  6. Try Ocean Dental (https://goo.gl/maps/bSiqjHZQyeB3W8r76). I went there for dental cleaning and filling. Dr. Namo was great! Price was reasonable.
  7. Try Antergan Cream. The active ingredients are hydrocortisone acetate and mepyramine maleate. It works very well on insect bites for me. It doesn't require any doctor prescriptions. Just ask the pharmacists.
  8. I went to Pattaya International Hospital for an eye checkup earlier this year. The cost was 2990 bhat which included IOP (https://www.pattayainterhospital.com/promotion-detail.php?id=29). I think you should be able to make an appointment just for IOP. Adding doctor's fee, it may be less than 2990 bhat.
  9. Thanks for the reply, Dr Joy. Does the landlord need to register the property using this app first? Would you share your knowledge on using this app please?
  10. I will be entering into a long-term lease in Bangkok. The landlord is Thai. In case the landlord is unfamiliar and unable to do TM30, I will need to take care of the reporting myself. My understanding of the process is as follows: 1. Prepare the following items: - Completed TM30 (part 1 and 2) - Power of Attorney Form - Copy of Landlord's ID - Copy of Tabien Baan or Title Deeds of the property - Copy of rental agreement - Copy of my passport information page, visa page and arrival stamp - A photo of myself 2. Submit the above documents in person to Immigration Division 1 Government Complex in Chang Watthana within 24 hours after I move into the property. My questions are as follows: 1. Is my understanding of the process correct? 2. Is there any items missing from the above list? 3. Has anyone use TM30.io (https://tm30.io/, a website that provides automatic TM 30 submission service)? If you do, please share your experience. 4. Lastly, please feel free to share your experience if you have gone through this process of submitting TM30 as a renter. Thank you and look forward to hearing your thoughts.
  11. Hi Nikmar, the test is not for employment. I am looking for a test lab for lipid profile, kidney function, liver function, the typical annual blood tests. Do you have to be a registered patient to use the blood test lab at Sirindhorn Hospital? Do you know how much they charge for these tests?
  12. Any suggestions and recommendations will be appreciated. Thank you!
  13. I am looking for a rental in Bangkok and have identified a townhouse in ddproperty.com. I contacted the agent. We agreed on the terms of the rental (including the price, duration of the lease, move-in date, etc). After I have verified the ownership, I made an advance payment. The agent then sent me a reservation form but told me that the owner will not sign the lease agreement until the move-in date, which is a month from now. Is it typical in Bangkok that the owner does not sign the lease agreement until the move-in date? This seems to be different from what I experienced in Pattaya when the lease was signed ahead of time. Will appreciate an insight from anyone. Thanks.
  14. We have been using Xiaomi air purifier model 2S since 2019. We have a few at home. We put a couple in the living area, and a couple in the bedroom. The air purifier filters particles, such as PM2.5, very well. It has a LED display that tells the PM2.5 reading at that moment. We leave the air purifiers on about 12 hours nonstop; filter replacement thus is about every 3-4 months. The replacements are available at Shopee. Here is a link to this model: https://www.mi.com/in/air2s/. Xiaomi has other models of different sizes with different filtering capacities too. So far we are very happy with this product.
  15. I bought a pair of eye-glasses from Owndays at Terminal 21 (Pattaya) about a month ago. I brought my own prescription, didn't use their optician service, though. The total price was 1,990 bhat as listed, which includes both the frame and the prescription glasses. There wasn't any extra or surprised charges. Before I decided to use Owndays, I went to a couple of eye-wear store on Pattaya Klang Road just to compare prices. Those stores charge the frame and prescription glasses separately. The charge of the glasses also depends on how strong the prescription is. I felt more comfortable with the pricing system at Owndays (one price including prescription glasses). Plus I like the variety of their frames as well. Once I paid, the eye-wear was ready in 20 minutes. I am happy with their services and products.
  16. Thank you everyone for your input. Appreciate it! Dr. Donna's MedConsult Clinic provides COVID-19 pre-flight tests, as follows: *RT-PCR + Fit to fly - ฿1,500 *RT-PCR + Fit to fly (Express Service!!) - ฿3,000 *ATK Rapid Antigen - ฿500 Has anyone taken one of these tests for traveling to the US? Does ATK Rapid Antigen test (฿500) satisfy the US requirement? Please share your experience.
  17. It looks like I just found the answer to my question from the FAQ at CDC. Here is what it says: "The 1-day period is 1 day before the flight’s departure. The Order uses a 1-day time frame instead of 24 hours to provide more flexibility to the air passenger and aircraft operator. By using a 1-day window, test acceptability does not depend on the time of the flight or the time of day that the test sample was taken. For example, if your flight is at 1pm on a Friday, you could board with a negative test that was taken any time on the prior Thursday." So now my understanding is that a 1-day period actually provides more flexibility in terms of the timing of the testing, because I am not limited to a 24 hour window. As my flight leaves at noon-time on Wed, I can take the test anytime on Tuesday. I hope I have not misinterpreted anything. Please feel free to correct me if I have any misunderstanding.
  18. The US requires all airline passengers to the United States ages two years and older, regardless of vaccination status or citizenship, must provide a negative COVID-19 viral test taken within one calendar day of travel.  I have some difficulties understanding what it means by "within one calendar day." Is it the same as within 24 hours? If my flight leaves at noon, when should I take the test? Appreciate in advance any responses. Sheryl, will be super to get your input. Thank you!
  19. The clinic is right behind the fish market. Google Map will take you to the clinic based on the address from your screenshot above. Below is a nicer picture of the building. It is facing the water side with a nice park in front. The clinic also has Facebook presence. Here is the link: https://www.facebook.com/ศูนย์พัทยารักษ์-111234613913576/
  20. Just want to share my experience regarding getting the COVID vaccine passport via walk-in. We arrived at Pattayarak Health Unit in Na Kluea a little bit before 8:30am (the time their office opens). It was quiet; there were no other applicants for the vaccine passport except us. The staff told us to take a seat. Shortly after, the staff told us to go to Window 1 and submit our documents (i.e. a copy of our passport photo page and a copy of our vaccine certificate issued by the hospital which vaccinated us). They told us to sign our names and write down our phone numbers. After that, they gave us our queue tickets. In about 15 mins, we collected our vaccine passports and paid 50 bhat each. The entire process was very smooth and quick.
  21. Try Dr. Chakrin at Tria Wellness in Bangkok. I know 2 people who had rhinoplasty and septoplasty performed by this doctor and got great results. Here is the link: http://www.tria.co.th/en/doctor/view/82.
  22. Thank you Sheryl. Appreciate your input.
  23. Internationalism, thank you for the information. It is very helpful! It seems that CDC has recently revised its recommendation for pneumococcal vaccine. For 65 years and above, it is either 1 dose of PCV20 or 1 dose PCV15 followed by PPSV23. Given that PCV20 is not available in Thailand, as well as for simplicity purpose, we are considering getting PCV20 when we are back in the US, which begs another question regarding the price since we won't have any insurance coverage. I tried to look up the price list from the pharmacies in the US but was restricted from entering the individual sites since I am not inside the US currently. I managed to find a site that compares the prices of various pharmacy and the average of 1 dose of PCV20 came out to be about US$300. If someone is familiar with the price of PCV20 in the US, could you kindly confirm? Just want to avoid any surprise. Thanks!
  24. Hello, does anyone know where I can get Tdap booster and PCV20 vaccine? I lived in Pattaya but don't mind driving to Bangkok. Thanks for your time in advance.
  25. Thank you all for sharing your experiences as well as your advises. The coverage limit as well as being an US expat traveling back to the US are certainly points of consideration. Each time I research on insurance, I always learn something new. For information purpose, my broker confirmed that both Travel Guard from AIG Thailand and Travel Easy from MSIG Thailand cover US expat taking trips back to the US. I have also looked up reviews on Travel Guard and Travel Easy. Reviews on Travel Guard are mixed. Recent comments from consumeraffairs.com were mostly regarding claims on cancelled trips that were rejected and naturally were negative; whereas comments from Travelguard.com were positive but they were mostly related to the online purchasing experience. As for Travel Easy, I was only able to find reviews from Singapore. Most people were happy with their non-medical claims process. Given the information I have, I think the best choice will be IMG (and Sheryl, thank you for the recommendation! :) Not only does it provide options of higher medical coverage, if I use its provider network IMG will pay directly. That will really give me peace of mind!
