Reading through the many posts that we've had regarding Wise recently, It's unfortunate that, their reputation appears to have become a 'victim of their own success'.
It is so commonplace now for most of to receive our funds in seconds, that when it doesn't happen we tend to get agitated and start wondering what has gone wrong. Even I do, and I'm probably one of the more laid back guys around here.
In one of their quarterly news letters awhile back Wise did state that although they strive meet the demand for fast transfers, they could not always guarantee it and gave a list of possible reasons why not. All of those reasons seemed quite reasonable to me. I wish I'd kept the link for that statement, but sorry it's long gone.
Try to be a little more patient with Wise. They strive hard but this is not a perfect world that we live in and we really should make allowances for that.
Did 4 transfers over the past month each took 48 hours to 7 days. Used to be almost instant. So I don’t think it’s an isolated issue, but rather a change at wise or somewhere in the process.

Surprised about the fixation with speed - if your Ping is 50ms, all the speed in the world will not make you happy except when down/up loading large files. For everyday Internet use it's much more important to have minimal latency to get fast page loads - not Gigbit speed records.
Is there anything at all we can do to decrease the ping? Particularly I'm thinking about to US servers.

Nothing, and neither did the incorrect post I quoted and was directly replying to (which I assume you also read?).....

- I your home country you also must be able to identify yourself, by a legal document as an ID card, Here in Thailand you have to do this, as foreigner, by a legal passport.
This is not true in the United States. Police have no right to your identity unless there is a reasonable suspicion you've committed a crime. You certainly can't demand a passport, it's absolutely foolish to carry around your passport regardless of the country.

Hopefully the arabs will allow buying oil in other currencies soon and the dollar will collapse through lack of demand
That would risk ‘freedom’ and liberation coming their way. It would also mean no help against Iran. Unlikely.

Australia. Very harsh lockdowns. Now doing OK. Today +3 cases in a population of >26,000,000. Lockdowns and real mass testing, excellent contact tracing and isolation/quarantine is why Australia is where it is today. Vaccination program in OZ is not so good.
It's an island....

Current official response to this, easing of measures!!
Now try a full lockdown as you should have done at the start or be prepared for far worse to come. Disastrous news on all fronts.
"Lockdowns" did nothing for the west. Scared or vulnerable stay home and wait for the vaccine if you want it. That's the only solution that has shown any usefulness.

Do people here really think there are no flights? There are tons of international flights in and out of swampy everyday, right now.

Does anyone know how to change the DNS inside the AIS Fiber router? I'm not seeing the usual options when I log in to the admin page. I'd prefer to use 1.1.1.1 but can't find where to put it.

It can take weeks to get a positive test result. This is not reassuring to me at all.

I managed to get to a hospital at Prasat within a few days of having breathing difficulty and feeling really unwell. Doctors confirmed that my lungs were filling up with a liquid, gaseous or fibrous substance but could not diagnose the infection. I was in unimaginable pain and put on IV morphine for 1 week as well as a cocktail of IV antibiotics. I was then transferred to a Hua Hin hospital where IV antibiotic treatment continued for 8 weeks. Outpatient treatment then consisted of taking a plethora of daily oral drugs for the following 6 months with monthly blood, sputum and x-ray (as well as 1 MRI scan) tests. I was advised that my overall health and fitness with early hospitalisation helped with my eventual recovery but I have lost some lung capacity and previous fitness.
It was eventually determined that the lung infection was probably Melioidosis which had been initially diagnosed as pneumonia and a strain of TB. Apparently, I was very fortunate to have survived because of the high mortality rate of Melioidosis.
That is rough. Indeed lucky, the fatality rate on whitmores is massive. Did they not test for B. pseudomallei? Should have been one of the first things they did.

Had a friend who collapsed 2 weeks ago in Pattaya he was taken to Chonburi hospital, they put him on life support and ended up turning it off......it was his funeral last Monday......52 yrs old.......seemed healthy.......autopsy result died of TB
Starting to wonder if that really was the cause of death..........and now this guy.........worrying
Does one just collapse and die from TB? I thought it was a long drawn out ordeal. Thats what the majority of isolation rooms in thai hospitals deal with.

While £2,000 sounds a great deal, 2000 baht would cover nothing.
Odd though. If he's been working here for 12 years on a work permit then he should have SSI and it would be free.

The article appeared in a local newspaper for the area from where the poor individual originally hailed, and was in all probability written by a trainee journalist who is still a little wet around the ears!
Or scared to mention Corona for fear prayut comes after him.

This is the definition of wuhan virus. Literally shutting down entire countries and cities.... and they didn't test for it? If it is Covid then patts is major trouble.
Also, if the guys been working here for 12 years he has govt insurance. Shouldn't be costing them 2k pounds a day.
Hopefully it's not, but it was always going to take an international case to force their hand.

Legalising casinos to boost economy: Thailand House of Representatives forms committee

Is Singapore a “Vegas of SE Asia” with bad vibes and half the population hustling scams? They have two massive casinos. Did Nagaworld turn Phnom Penh into “Vegas”?….. A couple casinos in Thailand won’t have any effect on you.
