  1. I'm due to collect my visa extension (based on marriage) approval stamp in mid-April.

    1. Besides bringing along my passport, an updated bank passbook and copy, what other documents do I need to present?

    2. With the current "huge crowds" at Chaeng Wattana due to covid-19, how long do I have to wait to get my passport stamped?

    3. Would my queue be the same as the "L1" queue for applications of extensions as this queue is often very long?

Appreciate some guidance and feedback. Thanks.

    Thanks for report.

BTW you don't need to transfer your reentry permit.

Yeah, that was what I thought too but the IO (who processed my visa extension) said I need to get a re-entry transfer. Can anyone else please reconfirm that a re-entry transfer is not required for my new passport which is now under consideration for a visa extension?

PS: Don't think I'll be going overseas in the next 2 months due to the novel virus scare.

  3. Thank you all for your feedback. I just came back from Chaeng Wattana and here is my update (see photos too):

    1. Arrived CW at 8:00am with wifey and there was already a few hundred people queuing up (like a long snake!). They ran out of the pre-line queue tickets; I reckon there were at least 300 people in the queue. It was just madness.

    2. Surprisingly the snake queue moved pretty fast and by 9:15am we got our L1 Queue ticket (#40) with 28 applicants in front of us. Don't know what the bulk of the 300 applicants were getting what done, probably student visa, re-entry etc.

    3. Waited for over 2 hours until 11:30am and we were interviewed.

    4. The whole interview to process visa stamp transfer and visa extension plus payment and photo of wife and me, took just 20 minutes.

    5. Then the IO told us to photostat my new passport with the transfer stamp and to bring her a copy.

    6. We went downstairs to look for a photocopier but when we finally got back upstairs at 12:01pm, the Bureau was closed for lunch!

    7. We had our lunch and went back up at 1:05pm to hand over the photocopy of passport to the IO. She told us to wait outside her cubicle and in less than 3 minutes an usher returned my passport with the "under consideration" stamp on it and told me to come back on 16 April, with an updated bank passbook and copy, to collect my approved visa extension stamp!

We then sauntered over to the ABCD Section to "transfer my re-entry permit" to my new passport, got a Queue ticket, with 76 other applicants in front of us. Dreading another long wait I decided to <deleted> it and come back another day for the re-entry transfer. So, we left at 1:30pm; a total of 5 1/2 hours including an hour for lunch.

Hope this episode will help others who plan to do their visa transfer at CW. Happy wait long time!

  4. Could any esteemed TV member please provide me their "step-by-step" personal experience , say in the last 6 months when you went to do your O-Visa extension? I'm going to do mine tomorrow:

    1. What is the best time to arrive Chaeng Wattana to ensure the whole process can be completed by noon? Is that even possible?

    2. At which floor must I queue up to:

    a) apply to transfer visa stamp from old passport to new passport.

    b) apply for Non-O Visa extension?

    c) are these 2 applications in the same queue? If not, can my wife help to queue up in one of them?

I have already got all the paperwork collated and relevant ones copied (many thanks to Ubonjoe); the only item I need tomorrow will be the Bank Statement which I can get from my bank at Chaeng Wattana. Please do share any useful tips if you have.

    Cheers.

  5. Tks Ubonjoe for the quick reply. Appreciate if you could assist me further with the following queries:

    1. That depends upon the office where you apply. Some will allow you do it up to 30 days early and 45 days at others.

Q: I will be doing the extension at Chaeng Wattana. Can I do it 45 days prior to expiry there?

    4. You will complete this form Transfer Stamps To A New Passport . You will need a copy of both passport photo pages. Copy of your visa, entry stamp and most recent extension stamp. Some office will a copy of every page of your old that has a visa or stamp for Thailand on it. There is no fee for stamp transfer.

You will need a letter from your embassy requesting you stamps be transferred to you new passport.

Q: Noted. As my visa extension will expire on 15th April (about 38 days from today) and I don't plan to travel overseas for the next 2 months, do I still need to transfer my visa and extension stamp to my new passport, in order to apply for the new extension in late March?

Tks in advance for your assistance.

  6. I have a Non-O Visa (Marriage) Extension valid until 15 April 2020 (with corresponding "Multiple Re-Entry Permit"). As my passport will expire in 8 months time, I decided to get a new passport last Wednesday, so that there will be more than 12 months validity in the passport when I apply for another visa extension in a couple of weeks time.

Appreciate if any esteemed TV member can assist me in answering the following queries:

    1. My visa extension will expire on 15 April 2020. What is the earliest date I can apply for a new extension? Is it 30 days or 45 days prior to expiry date?

    2. A visa service provider told me that I need to apply to "move/transfer" the original seal/sticker of the "single-entry Non-O visa" (that was issued by the Thai Consulate in Malaysia in January 2019), from my old passport to the new passport. Is that correct? Do I need to do this move/transfer in order to get another 12-month extension with my new pasport?

    3. I thought that as long as I show both passports at the Immigration counter at the airport when I enter/leave Thailand, it would suffice, no?

    4. If the "seal/sticker move/transfer" is mandatory, what forms and documents do I need to complete and submit and how much does it cost?

Thanks in advance for any feedback/advice.

  7. Appreciate if any TV member can provide me the latest update on getting my 1-year extension for my Non-O Marriage Visa done at Chaeng Wattana:

    1. Fees charged by Immigration for the 1-year extension

    2. Fees charged by Immigration for the multiple re-entry permit

    3. Fees charged by an agent/runner to get the extension + multiple-re-entry permit on our behalf (although we still need to be present)

Can any member who recently did the above by themselves at Chaeng Wattana please share your experience?

TQ in advance for any feedback/remarks.

  8. Has anyone tried registering for this eServices app on iPhone and was successful in doing so? This app apparently allows you to file in your 90-day report via your iPhone.

I tried registering today and after several "timed out error messages", I received an automated email reply, thanking me for registering and directed me to click on a link to activate my account. However upon clicking on the link, it took me to a web-page with an error message "Cannot activate account". I then copied the link and tried to open the web-page in IE but it returned the same error message. The same error message appeared when I applied the link on Google Chrome and Safari. So, what can I do next? Any suggestions?

  9. I have a Non-O visa extension valid until April 2020 with a multiple re-entry permit. My passport will be expiring in January 2021 and I plan to renew it in February 2020 so that when I apply for another Non-O extension in March 2020 it will be done on my new passport. I will need to travel back to Malaysia to renew the passport as it can only done in the home country.

    Questions:

    1.  When I return to Bangkok in February 2020 I will have to use the new passport, which is without the Non-O visa extension and re-entry permit, can I show the Immigration at Suvarnabhumi my old passport with the relevant stamps?

    2.  Will I be allowed to enter Thailand with my new passport and enjoy the balance of my Non-O extension until April or would I be given the standard 30-day entry stamp?

    3.  If I'm given the 30-day stamp, will I lose my Non-O visa extension and re-entry permit? If yes, then I will need to go back to Malaysia to get a Single Entry Non-O Visa valid for 90 days on my new passport and then come back to Thailand and apply for the 1-year extension in April 2020.

Appreciate any advice on the best course of action. Thanks in advance for any thoughts and advice.

    Rgds, CF Yow

  10. My application for visa extension (NON-IMM Marriage) is currently "under consideration" and would be approved on 2nd May 2019. I've a SINGLE RE-ENTRY PERMIT valid until 2nd May. I need to go overseas tomorrow and would only return on 8th May 2019 (that is 6 days after the expiry of my re-entry permit). Would this invalidate my application for visa extension? What are my options? Would appreciate any advice/guidance. Thanks.

  11. Thanks ubonjoe for the info. If my current TM6 entry expires before the 30-day processing period, can I continue to stay in Thailand until I get the 1-year extension stamp? Example: if my current TM6 expires on 6 April and the 1-year extension stamp will only be ready on 15 April, can I continue to stay in Thailand without being charged for overstaying? Or do I need to exit the country on/before 6 April and apply for a re-entry permit? What happens if I dont apply for a re-entry permit and return on a 30-day tourist visa; would this invalidate my application for the 1-year extension? Appreciate your advice; thanking you in anticipation.

  12. Hi, I need guidance on how to file the 90-day report for a first-time user:

    1. As this is my first time to file a 90-day report, can I do it online?

    2. If yes, where can I file the report online?

    3. If online reporting is not possible for first-time user, where are the locations in Bangkok that I can visit personally to file the report or can I mail my first report?

    4. I'm on a Non-O Marriage Visa, living in a Bangkok condo that is in my Thai wife's name. Do I or my wife need to submit the TM30 form and if yes, by when?

    5. For the TM47 report, what documents do I need to submit/present to file the 90-day report?

Appreciate any help or guidance. Cheers.

  13. I am a Malaysian, married to a Thai lady for over 10 years. I've been "living" in Bangkok with a "multiple entry Non-O based on marriage visa" for several years now, leaving the country every 90 days and applying for a new visa every 12-15 months. However I just returned from Kuala Lumpur today after applying for a new Non-O visa but was only given a SINGLE ENTRY Non-O valid for 90 days instead of the usual Multiple Entry visa valid for 1 year. The clerk at the Thai Embassy in Kuala Lumpur just told me to get an extension in Bangkok when I queried why I wasn't given the 1-year multiple entry visa!

Can anyone please help to explain the intricacies of the Non-O visa extension based on marriage and also, the re-entry permits?

EXTENSION OF SINGLE ENTRY NON-O VISA BASED ON MARRIAGE

    1. Where in Bangkok can I apply for the 1-year extension - Chaeng Wattana or Suan Phlu?

    2. Any URL link that you can point me to with regards the documents and requirements for applying the extension?

    3. Am I correct to say that I need to apply at least 30 days before the expiry of my 90-day single entry visa?

    4. Is it possible to get MULTIPLE ENTRY for the 1-year extension?

    5. How many days do I get to stay in Thailand with the 1-year extension Non-O visa by marriage? Can I stay for the whole year without leaving Thailand but will need to do the 90-day reporting?

    6. Can the 1-year extension be RENEWED every 12 months indefinitely in Thailand? Are there any special conditions or requirements for this "renewal"?

    6. As Malaysians are not charged for the Non-O Visa, do I have to pay for THB1900 fee for the 1-year extension?

    RE-ENTRY PERMIT

    7. How many times can you apply for the SINGLE re-entry permit during the 1-year visa extension? Or the single re-entry permit can only be used once during the 12-month period and thereafter the visa will be "burnt"?

    8. How many days stay do I get when I return and enter Thailand with my re-entry permit? Do I get to stay until the expiry of my 1-year extension?

    9. Again, since Malaysians are not charged any visa fees, would there be any re-entry permit fees charged to Malaysians?

Thank you in advance for any feedback and advice.
