TAT need to start looking into becoming the hub of quarantine tourism. Come to Thailand and spend two weeks in an army barracks alongside some of the worlds most brave, feared and decorated generals the world has ever seen. If you're lucky you might be allowed to wash one of the general's German whips or tend to their chicken coup d'etat. You'll also be treated to a special army standard buzz cut.

CM City Hall. It seems like the government stations are always far cleaner than most other reading. Could this be because they spray water into the air in order to bring readings down? They put their readers inside air purified rooms? The PM2.5 particulate matter sees the medals, from all the hard fought wars they've been in, of the ex military generals turned politicians and thinks twice before going anywhere near their lungs for fear of being destroyed?

So he came up with a populist scheme to give people money and then then was apparently a pole where more than 2/3s were against the giveaway. So, to appease the majority and maintain popularity he withdraw the offer of the populist scheme. I suspect there was never ever going to be money relief and as usual those in the lower rungs of society will just have to suffer.
Does anyone know anything about SuperPoll? Is it just a government propaganda machine?

I thought that the light fog was actually heavy pollution. I'm glad that the weather people have cleared it up for me and I can now rest assured that the grey blanket over Misty days throughout all of CM is just a light fog. Thank you ????
This is how they used to fool the Chinese people into thinking there was no pollution issue in china. The weather forecast would tell everyone it will be foggy when in reality it was pollution.

My meter reads 380 now, approx 8:30AM, feb 29, near Kad Suan Kaew, *not* the 160 average aqicn.org shows as average, or even the 190 aqicn.org shows at one place in Old Town.
380
Probably the government stations show lower. I imagine the machine is locked away in cupboard and they spray it with water to get the numbers down. If you use airvisual then they state the source of the station.

Basically Chiang Mai is the worlds number 1 as South Asia is in a league of their own when it comes to consistently bad air pollution. CM is just 1 AQI number off top spot as I type and if it wasn't for the government AQI stations consistently reporting lower numbers compared to all other stations surrounding it then it'd easily be number 1.

I registered with my email address. didn't see anything about phone contacts, though my SIM card was in another phone at the time. Without the app, you are limited to using auto mode, which doesn't work to my satisfaction, or full on noisy fan mode. Or buy another brand of air purifier. Location? I told them I'm in China. I thought they don't have facebook in China.
On Android it wants access to location, storage and camera. Plus registeration via phone number, Facebook or email. I'm probably just being overly paranoid by not wanting such an app on my phone but xiaomi is a brand based in a country where snooping is a favorite past time of the regime. Also, I find the droning of fans to be a little therapeutic.

Download the xiaomi app & connect to your purifier. You can then control the strength of the fan in heart mode (manual mode), so it won't be so noisy.
The app wants complete access to your phone contacts, location, etc. Plus they want your phone number or Facebook account to register. Very intrusive app for some thing that only controls an air purifier so I deleted it right away. You should check your background apps and Id bet it's always open in the background.

Chiang Mai presently ‘most polluted city in world’

So your car and motorcycle are carbon neutral? The pollution would be helped year round if they bothered to create a proper public transport network and get the red trucks and Tuk tuks off the roads. By proper network I mean one that takes people far and wide and not just the current capatilist bus network they have, that basically ferries people between all the shopping malls in town and the airport.
