The Big question remains…. WHY would anyone want to travel to Thailand with all of the restrictions and massive Covid Outbreaks when they can travel elsewhere without having to jump through all the hoops?

When I asked many friends are you coming to visit Thailand this year, the answer was a flat out NO!

They said they look at 2024 when things return to normal.

When I was in Bangkok at the Beginning of July, I witnessed clinics overflowing with ExPats, with their entire families, waiting to take their PCR Tests in order to get on a plane out of Thailand.  Most of them said, they’re not considering returning for at least a few years.  They’re safer in their own countries.

I guess that sums it all up.

MedPark is probably one the largest vaccine distribution sites in Bangkok.  They are allocated more vaccine that most hospitals combined (according to a contact at Bumrungrad Hospital).  I would try there

first.  Bumrungrad supply is limited.  I was fortunate to receive my AZ in Samui.  No Side effects what-so-ever.  EXCEPT for when you walk amongst the population and they see that you’ve been vaccinated, 

they treat you like a superstar! ???? ????‍♂️

And I’m pretty sure that the Thai’s never heard of the name Clarence Either.

I’m not sure if this is important but I’m living in Samui, I’m over 60 and I got vaccinated with AZ Last month.

I left Bangkok in January 2021 to escape the covid and moved to Samui.  Seems like I made the right decision.  I realize that not just everyone can pick up and go but when your health is on the line, it’s the cheapest form of insurance you can possible buy.  Sometimes it just doesn’t pay to fight but to RUN AWAY!

Especially if you completely vulnerable without any defenses.

BTW, I love Samui

Insurance?  Insurance for WHAT?  We already are forced to have Covid Insurance required by the Government for our VISA.  What is this insurance paying for? The fact that we may get sick and DIE if the private hospitals screw up giving us the Vaccine? To pay for our long term medical care?  Or is it to pay for their MALPRACTICE Insurance in giving out the vaccine? 

I’d love to hear ANY HOSPITAL’S response to that question 

The Devil is in the details. How many “FAKE” vaccination documents you think will be produced and how exactly does the Thai Govt expect to verify these documents?

There is no universal document like a passport. It’s simply a piece of paper. 
 

Didn’t a group of Thai women and migrants sneak across the border without undergoing quarantine?  So

There is no such thing as 100% of a survey is accurate.  You have to take a 50% accuracy at best. if you did the correct math, you would arrive at figure of less than 100,000 brits. That’s a far cry from 6M. But go ahead. Best the bank on it!

It will take 2-3 years before any significant tourist industry reappears. Remember as Thailand has suffered economically, so has all other countries. They simply don’t have the disposable income to spend it on traveling. They’re hanging on by a thread financially. 
 

There’s a better chance of an elephant Stampede from Surin than there is Tourist reappearing this year. 
 

But the good news is that it gives the Govt plenty of time to make the required repairs. 

Whatever Pattaya Mayor Sonthaya Khunplume is smoking, he needs to distribute it to all the citizens in Pattaya.

Thailand has been quite fortunate not to have the massive outbreak felt in other countries. Vaccines are in limited supply and are being distributed to areas in critical condition.

once enough vaccines has been manufactured (2 billion is the goal for worldwide) Thailand will start to see arrival in the country. Our supply will most likely come from China as they are the only country that has the capacity to generate 1.5 billions doses. The USA, Europe, Russia, India are all trouble. Expect deaths Worldwide to easily 350,000 possibly reaching 500,000

it ain’t going to be pretty folks. 2021 will be a very bumpy ride until August

The issue with the smart visa program as well as all other tourist/employment related issues are the same.  You have a military government that has NO concept or idea of how to solve these issues since they have NEVER been a tourist nor an employee working in another country.  So don’t expect anything they are presenting to work!

A simple solution to this problem is to drop their ego’s at the front door and invite Falongs into their meetings and ask them what would want to make Foreigners visit, invest, and work in Thailand.  Diplomats aren’t the right people since they are not bound by the rules of tourist visa or work permits and are not investors.

If anyone from the government is listening, I’m here to help.  All you have to do is ask.

An easy way to attract tourist and deal with the quarantine is to separate the arriving passengers from the “Have Covid” to the “Have Not COVID-19”. 

Put the “Have” group into the hospital at their own expense (or send them back when they came from immediately) and the “Have Not Yet” Covid on a Blimp (Zepplin) for 2 weeks on a tour over Thailand. Anyone that gets Covid during the 2 week ride, throw them overboard into the sea And those who don’t are welcome to stay!  What a wonderful way to spend 2 weeks in quarantine seeing all the tourist sites.  Problem solved!
