  1. I think I am going to take 2 insurances : the LMG , the cheaper possible with the highest deductible...only for the visa....and then for myself without any deductible will found a cheaper insurance to be covers in full if.......!

I have contact maybe 20 insurers...all are Aware of the OA visa NEW requirements

but AXA , APRIL.Pacific CROSS.. all want a very heavy medical check up after 65 Y old.

then we have Abroad insurers like by example the UK WRLIFE ..they are cheap ( reasonable )..no deductible ect BUT need to have the health certificate act sign by Ambassy or ministry of foreign affairs....!!!! and not sure if My IO will appreciate that..or aware about it !!!

Its a full time job !!!

  2. Well..I am still at the same point nobody knows if 3.000 000 is for inpatient or in and outpatient !!!

as per my IO I cannot ask because they can change of the day of my application as they do absolutly what they want...what they will told me today can change in 1 month !!! and i will have NO proof of what they told me...

it is terrible to need to take a fake insurance with 200000 bahts deductible and pay 50000 bahts the year for nothing..i get my OA visa in my country in 2008 !!! I cannot understand why this new law is not applicable only to the new OA visa !!!

I had the same insurer for 12 years..need to leave to get the outpatient in LMG. now have to leave again to an other insurance..

  3. This is what LMG send me....BUT they are unable to say to me if WE need in and outpatient !!!

: << We have received information from the TGIA, which is the Thai General Insurance Association that confirmed the 3 Mil THB cover, and insurer such as LMG have upgraded the long stay plan along with outpatient >>

    Not at this time.

On September 1st of 2022 it will increase to the new requirement of $100,000 or 3 million baht of coverage.

I will need to renew that insurance on April 2022 for 1 year extension ...

Is that mean i will need to have an insurance (400000/40000) until 1 september and then switch for a 3000000 one ?

Do the Immigration will give me 12 months extension with the 400000/40000 one ???

If it is the case .its that mean  I will need to change my insurance only in April 2023 ?

So it won't affect extensions of existing OA visas?  That would be nice.  But what I don't get is that the article (in today's BKK  Post, 21 October) calls this "perks" for foreigners and says it's to promote health tourism - in other words, they make it sound as if some new benefit is being given, whereas in fact it seems to be an increase in the burden on the applicant.  Am I missing something?

Have you read my post above ? it said (LMG ) that OA extension will need 3 M.coverage after september 2022 !!!

  7. I have contact my Insurance ..they don't have yet answer all my questions But this is the reply I have received for now (waiting for more info on the prime cost..

    Thank you for contacting us.

Concerning your question, are you referring to the latest updates that there will be the need for a 3,000,000 THB cover?

We have juts today received some information in that regard that for any renewal before September 2022 the usual 40,000 THB outpatient and 400,000 THB inpatient cover.

For any Visa renewals that would happen after September 2022 the health insurwcne would have to have a total annual limit of 3,000,000 THB

I hope that my answer could be of help, if you have any further questions, I gladly remain at your disposal.

Thank you and have a good evening!

Best regards / Mit freundlichen Grüßen / Saludos cordiales / ด้วยความเคารพ,

IMO, last years embassy letter has nothing to do with this years 1 year extension.

IF switching to use the 800k this year instead of the embassy letter, it would have to be in account for 52 weeks.  They would need the standard letter, 12 month statement and copies of your bank book for the same 52 weeks OR produce a new embassy letter for this year, which would keep you using the proof of income method, not requiring 800k in Thai bank.
What would be interesting would be if you switched back to the embassy letter next year.  I'm betting they would want to see all the above.

Preparation is the key.  Get a list of exactly what they need and then take that to immigration.  You will not have these difficulties if you present exactly what they need.

WHAT ???? you mean if now , you don't show Ambassy letter...you need to have 800000 bahts more than 1 year in your acount ??? they said 3 months before and 2 months after and all year not below 400000 Bahts...and by anyway..the documents i show immigration to get my extension last year cover me until the next extension....or what ?

Mamasun, try LMG insurance. You can find them on the internet easily. They are one of the insurance companies approved by immigration. They will insure up to 75 yrs, without medical or health checks. I took the option of having a 200k excess, meaning I would pay the first 200k on any claim. This keep the cost for insurance low. I only need this insurance to get my Non O-A yearly extension, I have no intention to claim on it. I already have another health insurance, which cover me worldwide.

This is what I received today by Email : What make me ??? is the n1 who said : Standard pemium for the first year only !!!  what does it mean ? its that mean that next year extension (insurance) can be the double of that price premium ?image.png.5a6dbdd1f3e2778dae8dd31bbd7d0229.png

Just completed my Non O-A year extension at UbonRatchathani immigration office. It was due to expire on 11 May, so had no problem doing it in advance. The office said you can do extension up to 45 days in before the old one expire. The only extra thing I had to do this yr compared to previous years was to get Thai health insurance, which was no problem, and only cost 7700 baht for the yr (Completed the form online with insurance company, no medical or tests required) paid the money and they sent the insurance certificate via email, which I printed off, and immigration accepted with no problems.

Hi , What kind of health insurance can we get for 7000 B the year ??? incredible !!!

  14. All this doesn't ring right for me....such a non sens...how people of 70 or 80 years old can get insure here ? so it mean if all those people who have built their lives here ..have a house ect...suddenly they need to go out and leave Thailand ???

    Sorry I don't believe it !

I know exactly of wich Visa i was !!! and sorry to deceive you...but I have an health insurance since the first week I arrive in the Kingdom

BUT sorry again i still think ,,,its a misunderstanding !!!

The requirements when applying for a 1-year extension of stay of a Non Imm O - retirement Visa are the same as for a 1-year extension based on an original Non Imm O-A Visa for reason of retirement.

The only difference being that when extending your permission to stay on the basis of an original Non Imm O-A Visa for reason of retirement also a thai IO-approved health-insurance policy is required.  This requirement is addressed in the attached PoliceOrder effective October 31, 2019.

    = = =

When you entered on the Non Imm O-A Visa which you acquired 15 years ago in your home-country, you were provided with a 1-year permission to stay on entry.

If you entered on a Non Imm O - retirement Visa, you were only provided a 90-day permission to stay on entry.

You can also look in the first pages of your present passport, because IO writes the Visa category on which the permission to stay was based from your old passport, over into your new passport.

YEs I have it ....again it is writing VISA OA .    Not extension of stay base on ...because me I don't have anymore visa. I just have an ; NON O extension,

  16. I don't find anything relative to this subject on Immigration pages !

How do they know you have apply for an OA after 15 years and 3 passeports ? the OA expire after 18 months ( I think) then you are elligible for an non O extension....??
