From Chiang Mai News in English
An update on the Australian arrested for shoplifting in Chang Moi - Thai media has now identified her as Emily Catherine Duffell.According to multiple later reports she claims that she didn't pay has she had forgotten her purse.A person by the same name who is from Australia (kids are in Australian school uniforms on her profile and it's a fairly unique name) posted on the Koh Samui Island Tourism Information Group June 15 saying they planned to travel from CM to Koh Samui Friday and were looking for accommodation. If it's the same person - I can't be 100% sure but certainly the photos from her profile and the person arrested appear to be similar, her name can be found in Australia media reports as a publisher of a children's book, a Melbourne-based sleep consultant and mother-of-two. On the latter, her FB profile shows her with two kids. -
Certainly will be a costly exercise for her stupidity and arrogance. The video - you could see the staff were highly suspicious of her activities in the shop. Looked a drunken mess, thinking she could pull one over the locals. It's hard enough for these shops at the moment to make a living, without people like this coming a long.

As been mentioned, someone important missed out on their seafood dinner. Absurd.

They need all the money they can get, given they have stolen so much in the past

Pretty funny how they were scared it was a propellor flight. As for the organisation, well it doesn't come in till the 1st of May, and th virus will of course wait

I understood it was to stop social gatherings, though driving around the moat in Chiang Mai today, plenty of Thai's sat around eating in large groups. People who are gonna break rules, will do it anyway. Now Songkran is over, it seems pointless. The majority of people are able to drink pretty responsibly.

Airports aren't closed, there just aren't many flights.

It's clear that the Thai Gov re trying to avoid paying out, despite closing business' by applying restrictions which make it impossible to operate. The usual well of in BKK will not be affected by it all, they really don't give a stuff about 90% of the population.

I really cant seen anything until at least the 1st of June, even then not entirely sure. Thai authorities are putting in more strict measures even now. So they are taking it seriously. It's not even the alcohol but that bothers me, I just miss the social part of catching up with friends and having a laugh, watch a bit of sport. Same as . now no sport to play here as well - but it's the social bit.

Why does an economist think he knows better than medical experts , all he seems concerned with is money and not so much the health and well being of the people .
It is unrealistic for the world to lockdown for a long period - there will be far more deaths caused by economic pain than the virus itself. I don't envy any politician who has to make the ultimate decision to get things back reopened.

It obviously did the job, recovered quickly and fully. The countries which are proctrastrinating with the use of proven antiviral drugs are playing God IMHO. Stay safe eveybody, I don't wish COVID on anybody, nasty stuff.
That is the cocktail that my Missus was put on as well, and she has recovered from being very sick to very well in the space of 2 weeks. I am very grateful for the excellent care provided by Chula Hospital

The me, me, me attitude is pathetic, and dangerous, make all curfew breakers work unpaid in hospitals, helping people with the virus.
I wouldn't want those morons anywhere near a hospital

he whole 10,000 arriving story was absolute BS. Hotels are not accepting new guests, and of course many have now closed. Those that are still on the island will be able to find accomodation for the duration. No one will be sleeping on streets, unless they have zero money

The groups that I have seen in CM, over the past two weeks have been my fellow Somchai's getting on the grog outside of the local mom and pop shop. That though doesn't feed into Anutins racist rants.

Thailand's narrative of zero Covid, is as achievable as their previous drug free ASEAN 2013,2014,2015 announcements......it is just not possible. Until they get that into their thick skulls that no one will come here if they are doing a 14 day quarantine then we will continue to get brainless schemes like this , spouted by retarded officials.
