I have lived in Thailand for almost 20 years. I have been on a Retirement Visa the last few years. I had to go to the USA to clear up my husbands estate in March this year. I have a return stamp in my passport. I cannot get back into Thailand to my home. I have Thai people who depend on me in Thailand. I have never had the virus. Stay safe..wear masks. No one from the embassies wants to listen or they say they do not know. My Visa is up in February. I need to go home. Is there help out there?
very sad story and we expats as a group wish we could help but this forum is the best way to try to get the government to listen

It becomes very clear that Thailand does not have the best governing party in power to look after Thai citizens and Expats, the protests are perhaps not the best way to effect change but maybe the only way in Thailand

Corruption and the fact that they became too popular and , with that , too dangerous , lead to their exile .
Still remember the last days of the Thaksin regime ... it was not peaceful ... at that time I thought the coup was good to bring peace to the deeply divided country ... But , now , six years later , it really is time for real and true democratic elections , without eliminating popular political parties just because they get too many votes in the eyes of the ones in power ...
How does that old truism go, "Power Corupts and absolute power corupts absolutely "

Easing will not stimulate anything the difference between 1/2 of a percent and 1/4 of 1 percent will not generate business spending or investment the government needs to spend some of the trillions they have to support the people and business to grow the economy

I looked at the economics a couple of years ago. Typical break even payback was about 15 years. Panels should last 15-20 but batteries if required only last 10. So financially this a lose. In USA typical payback is 5-7 years because government rebates 30-35% of equipment and installation costs on day 1. If the government is serious about this they need to look into rebate programs.
Yes Same payback time in Australia and wait and see what package they come up with this time, but Vanadium Batteries last 20 years + and a much better storage solution.

Are you kidding, you guys are crazy if you even think that could work, you have <deleted> on tourists for years and <deleted> on expats living here and now you thing you can target the rich, i tell everyone i know not to come to Thailand because the government is not friendly to ferangs and wants us all to bend over to get reamed, it is laughable until things change in the LOS forget it.
It is not hard to create a comfortable environment here for tourists and expats but it is clear to most of us that you do not want us just our money.

Thailand or any other country should not allow Chinese tourists ever to come back because as we know this will not be the last pandemic out of China the last three have started there and there will be a fourth and fifth ect. do they need the tourist dollars that much, You can count up the Chinese tourist dollars from the last ten years and this pandemic would have cost more than that.
