Right so I just got back from CW see my original post for the whole story ..

arrived around 1:30 and it was empty.. went to desk and asked them if I need to fill out that awful form that is not clear at all where to fill in your info ( if you’ve been before you will know what I mean )

didn’t need any of that but she said I don’t even need to be here because it’s automatic extension until April 30 INCLUDING THOSE WHO ALSO HAVE UNDER CONSIDERATION STAMPS ***** but seeing as I’m here I can get a stamp if I’m worried... of course I got the stamp.

Please note I have seen other stories saying otherwise that under consideration people still have to attend immigration when stated.

i got my ticket number and within 10 seconds my number was called... ( I hadn’t even sat down yet )

they took about 10 mins to call me back in and I had my stamp until May 2.

i asked them will I now be automatic after May 2? ATTENTION ALL NO I AM NOT AUTOMATIC..

the cowboy made it clear if the situation is still like this after May 2 I will need to obtain a new embassy letter and the usual documents ... passport photo and photocopy and 1900 baht fee to get another month and return on May 2

the automatic extension is fake news !!!!

we still have to keep getting these pointless letters from our embassy that takes that about 4 days to respond with it...

So Get your wallet out every 30 days it’s gonna be a fun few months.

But surely that's only based on them not extending the amnesty past 30th April. In which case you revert back to having to leave the country before the 2nd.

Although it is - as usual - somewhat clumsy and ambiguously worded, it is pretty clear that the intent of the lower part of the diagram is that 'EVERY foreigner with a permission to stay stamp in his passport that expires after 26 March does NOT need to report at IO till 30 April'.

Note: Those that applied for the emergency extension and got an 'under consideration' stamp DO need to report, and on approval will get the required permission to stay stamp.

So my original VOA extension ended on the 6th April so I had a stamp saying I had a right to stay after the 26th March.

I now have a 20 day under consideration stamp that takes me to the 26th April.

So, does the 6th April stamp cover me to the 30th April or does the later under consideration stamp override this?

  3. We all know what they're up to at Jomtien Immigration. I went on Thursday for my emergency 30 day extension. Had my letter from the Embassy but heard romour that you need more stuff so got in the first queue to see what I was missing. Photos of condo and a map.

So thus was in the morning and I went off and got the missing items. Came back and joined the queue for tickets at 12.30 and got to the counter at 13.30 thought great finally made it. Girl checked papers and said all OK. She then said You come back Tuesday visa run out Monday 6th. Well as you can imagine I didn't want to leave but they were having none of it.

So all they want to do is put you at the back of a never ending queue unless you want to oil the wheels as it were.

I heard quite a few others being told to come back Tuesday so along with the 3 day weekend it's going to be busy.. I would suggest everyone refuses to leave who is not seen on the day. Its obvious what they are doing.
