  1. Hi all,

I've been through the process of replacing a foreigner freehold chanote at the amphor. I believed it was lost. I went straight to the police, filed a report and then took the 2 witnesses required, one of whom was my building manager along and completed all the neccesary 3 rounds of paperwork in around 3 hrs.  Relatively painless to be honest.  Although I did have to wait many months to receive my new chanote which is all in order, only my name as owner on it etc.. . My only niggling doubt is that. If that lost chanote is for example suddenly found or turns up, could it be misused in anyway, let's say to take a loan out or for any other form of collateral against the property?

In my mind, everything I did was correct and should all be fine. As far I am aware that this cannot be done unless both parties (Including owner, myself) must be present and sign with ID and so on for any legally binding loan or other to be valid and that this reissued Chanote supercedes any other.

    Thanks in advance
