No nothing like that. I was also concerned it might be a problem, but they didn't even mention it in the end.

I can help, Brit here who applied in KL last September. I just provided an Airbnb booking receipt and got my visa next day.

Regarding appointment slots, I had no issues in September last year for tourist visa. I got next day to drop off the paperwork and following day to collect visa.
Other visa types may have been a different story, I'm not sure.

CM you can apply up to 14 days prior to the end of your existing permission to stay. I'm sure it's the same at other offices too
-
Thanks, good to know. I think I have all the required paperwork ready.
-
Thanks. I'm near Nai Harn beach. Phuket Town would be better though in this occasion as there's other stuff we want to do in town.
Is an appointment needed? Website is not clear

Quick question as in the title. Do I need an appointment at Phuket Town immigration if I'm extending a tourist visa?
Thank you

I'm new to Phuket. Used to live in CM and got used to shopping at the local '20 baht' shops.
I'm in Rawai but haven't found any. Are there any of these shops around here?

Thanks ubonjoe, that's what I thought exactly. And as far as I'm aware there are no long term visas available to me as a UK citizen outside of my home country and under 50.
Even the METV is only available if I'm back in the UK I think, is that right?

I just got back from the Royal Thai Embassy in Kuala Lumpur. Picked up my 60 day tourist visa.
However the lady said, because I've been in and out of Thailand many times, I should apply for a multiple entry visa from immigration.
The only multiple entry visa I'm aware of is the METV which is only available (I believe) from my home country's embassy. I asked her to confirm she meant immigration inside Thailand and she said yes.
Anybody know what type of visa she might be talking about?

Thank you for the reply both. That's good to know.

I strictly speaking have no occupation but I'm funded by current investment income and day trading. What would you recommend I enter as my occupation? Or should I enter my previous occupation?

Has anybody done this and can offer advice?
I know we need a dog passport and health certificate (we will have soon). And I know we need an import permit, which we will arrange.
But we're not sure for the rabies vaccine. There's mixed information on the internet and I think it depends on country. Does anybody know?

Helpful response, thanks.
I heard its free to public. Can't find info online. Don't know where to ask so ask here because somebody might know.

Hi, can we run on CMU Central stadium track? Is it free to the public?

If she has to get on a domestic flight to Chiang Mai she will have to do one night in a approved hotel in Bangkok until she gets the result of her covid 19 test.
Thank you so much for clearing that up!

From the TAT news website:
QuoteThe following rules will be in effect from 1 April, 2022, and will also apply to travellers who have applied for/obtained the TEST & GO Thailand Pass or Certificate of Entry with scheduled arrivals from this date.
Points of entry:
- By air – Direct international flights to Don Mueang, Suvarnabhumi, Phuket, Krabi, Samui, Chiang Mai, U-Tapao, and Hat Yai (new) international airports, or transit domestically via dedicated flights.
- By land – Via border checkpoints in Nong Khai, Udon Thani, Songkhla, and Satun (new).
- By water – Eligible types of vessels include private yachts and ships of Thai government agencies, while Thai crew members on cargo ships will also be allowed to enter Thailand.
The part I've underlined above not entirely clear to me but seems to indicate it's ok to transit first.

My girlfriend is travelling from Malaysia to Thailand to meet me in CM in a couple of weeks, but there are no direct flights. Question is, can she board the connecting flight in Bangkok to Chiang Mai and do the required SHA hotel 1 night stay and Covid test in Chiang Mai or does it have to be in Bangkok?

Hi, anybody know any place where I can buy a new (network unlocked) Samsung smartphone at better prices than the official stores? In CM?

I always deal with Neo Entertainment Gallery who are on Huay Kaew road just up from Phucome hotel.
Thanks! I'll check it out, do they have a good selection? I mean I know I said Sony it the subject but now I think about it it doesn't have to be. Just something suitable for cycling (i.e. stays in the ear and can handle a bit of sweat).

I got some bluetooth Hp for biking too..were decent enough but battery lost charge after 4 hrs riding
Thanks I'll check down there too

Hi, I'm looking to buy a pair of Sony headphones to replace mine that got sweat damaged cycling up the Suthep hill.
My location is Huay Keaw road, near the zoo end. Does anybody know anywhere in this area I might find some? Or if not I can travel elsewhere in CM.
Thanks!

And we're done. Fairly painless the only hiccup caused by landlord and not immigration.
Got full 30 days, no need for under consideration.
Anyone who hasn't been yet just make sure you have TM 30 and it should go smoothly.
Queue was bigger as I left in the afternoon compared to this morning.
-
Quick update I'm at CM imm now Promenada office. It's busy but not chaotic.
Slight complication my airbnb host hadn't updated TM30 but fortunately she was able to resolve quicky and send screenshot, which could be printed downstairs.
They gave me embassy letter back, said it wasn't required as it's my first extension.
I have queue ticket now, they've taken break for lunch. Back at 1pm.

Success or experience with 1 day / 1 overnight Visa Exempt trips to KL or Penang
in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits

I did it with 2 night stay in KL but I think I was lucky. Its was my 4th consecutive visa exempt with extensions each time and a 2 month tourist visa prior. Before that I had been on covid visa extensions with 3 months away in between.
Honestly I wouldn't recommend it. It was stressful. I got escalated to senior immigration and grilled for quite some time before finally allowed in after promising I'd leave on the flight I had already booked.
This was Krabi airport.
