OK then a rheumatologist it must be.

Besudes the 2 at BPH there is one at PIH who actually looks better qualified

    https://www.pattayainterhospital.com/doctordetail.php?id=29&name=Dr.SUKIT CHITRABAMRUNG

It is easier to get to the PIH anyway. I talked to them already. The only downside is that this doctor is not there very often. Will look. Otherwise the BPH. They provide service every day.

If he is Thai, he should go to a government hospital after first making sure to change his tabian baan listing to Pattaya. Care will then be free and they will refer him as necessary to a higher level facility.

Are you sure it is Rheumatoid arthritis and not regular osteoarthritis? That would be more likely in an older man.

    Makes a huge difference.

No need to see a rheumatologist for osteoarthiits.

He is from Switzerland and had a doctor already in Phuket for many years. It is no new disease for him.

In Thailand only a rheumatologist would have this expertise.

There are 2 rheumatologists at BPH  https://www.bangkokpattayahospital.com/en/find-a-doctor-appointment-en.html

Neither trained abroad and I have no feedback on either

It is IMO well worth traveling to Bangkok for this. Bumrungrad has some excellent US trained, US board certified  reumatologists. This one especially is highly recommended

    https://www.bumrungrad.com/en/doctors/Hiroshi-Chantaphakul

    Also well qualified:  https://www.bumrungrad.com/en/doctors/Porawat-Makornwattana

Thank you. I asked for an even older guy than me. He doesn't speak much English and recently moved from Phuket to Pattaya and needs now a doctor here. Bangkok is too far for him. He hardly can walk. Will go with him to the BPH or to the International Hospital. I couldn't find anyone else here.

    Seriously? What makes them different?

I guess those that want to convert Pattaya to a "family" resort will get their wish now, as I can't see the pre corona night life surviving if this sort of thing continues. At some stage the people that worked in the biz will move on to other things.

I don't have this fear. I see that they build many new bars at the moment. At the Tree Town area they build something with a swimming pool. No idea what will happen there when it is finished.

Back to your cave and don't forget to push the rock in front of the entrance hole. Or why not moving to a cemetary ?

Thank you for your helpful advice. It will get quiet here for a while anyway:

    "Chonburi –

The following announcement was released this evening (April 9th) addressing Covid – 19 precautions and high risk venues in all of the Chonburi area.

    Places to close:

Entertainment venues and other similar places like bars, nightclubs, lounges, karaoke bars, hostess clubs, gentlemen clubs, pubs, etc.

    Cinemas and theaters.

Shower service places, saunas and soapie massage shops. Traditional massages are not included

Places for celebration and other similar places like banquet halls."

"Restaurants, food vendors, and cafeterias (except in schools and hospitals) are allowed to be open and eat at those places from 5:00 A.M. to 10:00 P.M. only. Other times will be take away only. There was no mention of an alcohol ban at restaurants."

5 million what, baht? That's nothing. Cut your losses and go back to where you think you'll be happier. I'm guessing you won't like it either because it's not where you go, it's who you have to live with; yourself.

At your age you should've learned by now that when life gives you lemons, you make lemonade. Meaning you can choose to enjoy what you have or choose to complain which gets you nowhere, just old, cranky, and friendless.

I have no problems to cut my losses to end my nightmare here. But in 30 years you also build up a social infrastructure. It is not only a condo. But I will get rid of all this to get rid of my mistake to buy property here. Pattaya does not give me any other option.

I guess you missed what I actually said

"What the buyer will use it for is the least of your concerns, and since short time rooms are a profitable business, I bet you have had offers to sell at a profit."

It is very easy to buy something but it is not always easy to sell it. Pattaya has endless empty rooms and a lot of empty space to build even more empty rooms. I rented very long and when my last rented condo was sold I bought one. I am old and didn't want to move again. I moved so many times in my life. My idea was that before I die I wanted to have my own paradise with my own furniture and TV and other things I like. But sadly it didn't work out. Ten years ago I would not have cared too much. I liked to stay in hotels and rented rooms to be flexible and have no obligations. But now I am old and not the same anymore.

I remember many moons ago, in my country they build a race circuit in the middle of a green area, because there it would cause the least noise disturbance, as there were no houses within a few kilometers radius.

Next the well off started  develop the area around the circuit to build luxury villa's, and of course one of the attraction points in the brochure to lure buyers was the vicinity of the circuit.

When it was fully developed those villa owners started petitions to remove the circuit because of the noise.

    Sounds familiar?

To cut a long story short - don't invest where laws or governments don't protect you. I lost about 5 millions and some years (perhaps my last) I wanted to enjoy - it is very bad but since it wasn't my last money it luckily will not kill me. But it was for sure the worst decision I made in my life to buy property in Central Pattaya. I didn't expect that it will be one of the biggest open air red light districts in the world and continue to grow and grow. And I have been here almost 30 years. I am an idiot - for sure.

OMG, move already. Like someone moving to Vegas expecting quiet.

You can move and throw away millions that you (and many others invested). For sure the best option if a local government doesn't care about laws and regulations. In the end it is a red light district and not a home for retirement - you are right.

    And enjoy grave silence.

It is now almost midnight and here in Central Pattaya is noise like crazy despite endless complaints. THEY here in Pattaya love the entertainment venues so much... Thank you Prime Minister that we HOPEFULLY get some quiet nights... IF they care about any restrictions and regulations.

  11. The problem with plastic and glue is that you need to know which glue you can use for which plastic. For instance the super glue will not glue plastic like the one used for the tip where it comes out.

In respect of glue getting old and hard - to avoid this store it in a cold refrigerator and it will hold very long even if opened already.

I would love to know if there is any scientific-support for this action.

There is a logical support for this action not to allow the sale of alcohol in restaurants. If you close bars and allow to sell alcohol in restaurants people will use the restaurants as meeting points instead of the closed bars. We had this already last year.

Very ferw dentists in Pattaya will attempt root canal. Even Dr Warin advised me to go to BPH for root canal. BPH has a large state of the art dentistry department and is undoubtedly the best place to go for any dentistry work......if you can afford it. My root canal surgery cost me slightly more than it did in the UK.

Dr. Warin did a root canal for me already and he has been my number one dentist here in Pattaya for very many years. He is also famous for implants. I visited the Pattaya Bangkok Hospital for a crown before I knew Dr. Warin. Was expensive and not a good experience.
