  1. You can see the shipping costs when you check out right before you pay for the items.

I ordered an exhaust system for my bike from the US and had a little problem because they usually charge around $ 200 for tax only; the item is $ 450, plus $ 100 for USPS shipping.

Almost 800 bucks for some pipes? No way.

Then there's a winter sale, and I could get them for $ 340.

Some sellers rip their customers off and charge way more for the shipping than it costs.

You can check how much a certain weight will cost on each parcel service website before you pay such an insane sum.

Next time, get in touch with the seller, tell them to write $ 60 as the price for the item on the invoice, and you will pay a lot less.

Instead of $ 200, I paid 840 baht in tax for the exhaust, and the USPS shipping was 90 bucks. That was okay for me and I'd have thought it will also work for you.

The age of consent in Thailand is 15 (unless the parents object to them having sex). Having sex with a 15 year old doesn't make him a pedo, as other posters explained already.

n an attempt at mitigation the teacher said he had known the student for years and she was his girlfriend. They had to keep the relationship quiet, he claimed.

It seems that it wasn't the first time.

He said there was no truth in the sex for better grades allegations.

His girlfriend of many years and she's only 15 years old now?

Lock him up and throw away the key. But let all prisoners know what he did.

This bike was made for singles only. She never asks for money, shuts up when times get tight and does all he wants. And she's never asking for any jewelry or other expensive items.

Don't go to immigration if you don't have the money!

I remember a guy who bough already his ticket back home (a few years ago). His visa expired about a week before his flight home. So he though he will go to immigration and sort this out.

The immigration kept him in a cell and gave him a ride to the airport...

Thai Immigration. Your First Friend. Oops, no, that's the Tourist Police.

  7. Buy a cheap one year Kaspersky Internet security from a trusted seller.

Never use the free cr+p. It usually comes with some Malware you don't want on your machine.

It's doing all you want, should you do online banking, it brings you automatically on a protected site. It doesn't slow down your machine and it seems to be the best.

144 baht and the seller will send you a functioning key good for one year. These keys sometimes work for more than one.

    Here's a seller I've bought from:

  8. I was pretty much the first Farang people in the village have personally met 20 years ago.

Now they call me by name, but when I'm not there and they talk about me, they use Farang and that's okay for me.

If it's not spoken loud in a very negative way, it's nothing others should be upset about.

Doesn't the tone make the music, somehow?

I've looked for a job for quite a while now but constantly told I'm too old.  Tickets to anywhere are expensive now,  I used to get return ticket for 10k, now cheapest one way is 24k, add quarantine costs,  onward  ticket to home it's 130k

I get it. You gave up looking for a job. I can tell you that you will find a job when you're looking around.

Considering the COVID situation, nobody, or not many people, can come in, which opens a few more doors for you.

There's one thing I've learned in my life, and that's to stand up again when you fell. I understand that you want to work in your area, but believe me, it can be nice to work in another province and make new friends, experience a different Thailand and you might find something that changes your life in a very positive way.

Stop whining about your situation; you're the only one who can change it.

I had a similar issue and all of a sudden two households to pay for, so I know what I'm talking about.

We get too used to a particular place, but there are so many lovely places. If I were alone, I'd look for a job near a nice beach.

You don't have to pay for quarantine when you're going back to your country. No matter where you're from.

    Am I missing something here?

  10. If anybody believes that it's from a seafood/ wild animal market in Wuhan where they have stage 4 laboratories and research the Coronavirus in particular, must be a dreamer.

"The Washington Post newspaper reported information obtained from diplomatic cables on 14 April. They show that, in 2018, US science diplomats were sent on repeated visits to a Chinese research facility.

Officials sent two warnings to Washington about the lab. The column says the officials were worried about safety and management weaknesses at the Wuhan Institute of Virology (WIV) and called for more help."

Ex Mechanic but pre can bus - however, a simple voltmeter test across your battery terminals should produce 12v + with the engine off and anywhere between 13.5v and 14.5v running at 1000rpm+.  Some regulators don't open until around 900rpm but I've never known one that opens much later than 1000rpm unless its faulty.

The charging test on the printout is showing 14.18v and that's fine.  I'd be happier with closer to 14.5v but the rpm for that test is not stated so it might not be the max charge.

A battery voltage test should be carried out with all equipment switched off.

I suspect that the test equipment they haver used would state 'Excessive Ripple' on most vehicles - I doubt its true.

To be honest, apart from fluctuations in the charge rate, I don't know what they mean by 'Excessive Ripple'.

You could try changing the alternator but I suspect you'll get the same result.

I think you have either connected your volt meter incorrectly or its faulty - if the voltage you achieved was a correct reading, your car wouldn't be starting by now.

Can I ask, what prompted the Midtronics test?  Is it something they offer as part of their service routine or did you report a fault?  If it is part of their routine, put it in the bin and forget about it - its almost certainly a sales gimmick and will most likely find 'faults' on most cars.

Not necessarily true. Some regulators/rectifiers stop at 13.8 volts depending on vehicle/alternator, of course.
