I found a medical source on taking masks off and then reusing them. They suggest placing it inside side up on a clean paper towel or plastic container. I guess you could carry a paper towel in a plastic bag and then do that at a restaurant. Putting the mask itself into  plastic bag might work too but I think that would be trickier to do without touching the mask in the wrong places.

While I'm in no rush to go to restaurants under these current conditions, if/when I do, I think I'm sorted now on best practices for dealing with the mask at the restaurant.

Perhaps some other people might find this information useful for their masked restaurant adventures as well.

I found a trash can for mine.

Surgical masks will only prevent sick people from infecting others.

Don't you guys have n95's in Thailand now?

N95 (and goggles) is the only thing that will protect you from the virus.

Besides the numbers are so low in Thailand - what are you worried about?

Honestly it probably doesn’t even do that. Maybe if you work in a hospital you might need a mask but not in the cafeteria ????

Obviously you need access to the mouth to eat.

Some people lower the mask to their chin.

That's considered a bad practice by medical experts.

    So taking off the masks.

    Then later back on.

There are protocols for mask wearing that generally involve putting it on at home and never removing it until back home. Hand washing before both.

    Restaurants are not home.

    So that breaks the protocol.

The specific details of that matters.

Asking here for very specific details of best practices to do that in a restaurant.

There has been suggestions about those details posted here.

Thank you to those who have posted on topic.

You’d think that would be obvious ????

I waved off the paid lookers and went shopping.  I don't like to cooperate.

I almost did the same thing but my wife noticed the sign in sheet as we were walking away so I just did it. But when I noticed that they were asking for phone numbers I quickly changed my mind and didn’t cooperate I just scribbled on the sign in sheet and went about our business next time I’m not even going to stop. I’ll stop for the quick temperature check but that’s it. I’m also going to start ditching the masks when going inside a store by July NLT.

So, if a person is assumed to be in the location until they clock in at the next place, I've been at Tesco Lotus near Ladprao since yesterday afternoon (they didn't have a sign-out sheet and I haven't yet gone to another place where I have to sign in). Still there. How will that work if someone gets flagged at that location today?

I signed in 3 times yesterday at Tesco just scribble something down and go about your business.

  6. If you really wanna know what it’s like to visit a mall right now than try it in person. I have 3 videos at my local mall from the last 6 weeks including yesterday at Tesco and it was actually easier to go to the mall during the lockdown than it is now. Although I think there was only a line because it had just opened yesterday morning so it still might be ok here. We passed by the mall yesterday but we haven’t been inside the mall since a week ago. I saw a small line outside the mall yesterday but probably just because it was only 10AM. We were in the big Tesco yesterday though and they do make you sign in we just scribbled something on the paper and went about our business. Last time we were at the mall they were not making people sign in but they definitely control how many people can go inside the mall at a time but not many people are going to the mall anyway right now. Over the last few months the mall crowds have been really small here.

Why is it a joke, the same procedure was taking place at Makro this morning?

Your suggestion as a Public Health Expert is ?

Well you know it’s kind of comical what’s going on now because it was literally easier to get inside the mall a few weeks ago than it is now ????. Now you apparently have to sign in with your name and phone number at the door and during the so called lockdown before they just shuttled us in the back way to maintain crowd control. Now there are lines to get in the mall during the lockdown it was actually easier to go to the mall.

  8. That’s interesting because it actually was a little bit like that this morning but it’s actually been easier to go inside the mall over the last 8 weeks till today. Now they have lines to get in the mall. A few weeks ago when I was at the mall they just let everyone in the back way slowly to reduce crowds and they kept the main entrances closed. They were opening up more doors today than usual but besides that and signing in at Tesco there were not many changes today compared to a month ago.

Where's the fun in eating alone, and can't drink alcohol.  Might as well take the food to go, or not go there at all.

If you wanna drink than drink this isn’t stopping anyone. Personally I cut out all alcohol anyway not an alcoholic just being healthy again. I’m sure someone is selling it though someone’s always selling it even if it is banned.

Yesterday even in small Tesco need type your information on list! My name chance to Donald Duck! Phone 0856666666

The big Tesco did that to us this morning we just scribbled something down on the paper and went shopping but the small Tesco has never done that although they do want you to wear a mask inside. I never wear it outside it’s just too damn for a hot outside and most people working outside don’t wear it either. I’ve made multiple videos including today. I just said my phone number really and I told my wife just write something and let’s go.
