  1. I was just at Mae Sai and Chaen Sen (the river crossing for the casino in Laos). I can tell you that Mae Sai was closed up solid. NO ONE WAS THERE. The border crossing for the casino in Laos in the golden triangle is another story. That gate was open and there were two officers there who took a two hour lunch break (I was waiting and saw them carrying food in after two hours). There was also a military officer in the customs section. But when we asked about crossing they stated that no one was being allowed.  My question to them was this: What are all of you doing here?????? You have the AC cranked up at Thai tax payer expensive, no one is there, the boats are all docked, but there is close to a full complement of border officials. My guess would be that this border is not closed (see Mai Sai all boarded up) to VIP's. Thusly, why you need the military (customs) and immigration. Just a guess.

  2. Thats what happened in.....rhymes with BINA. When I first moved there VPN's were considered illegal but big businesses could get permission from the government to utilize them and BINA new exactly who was using private ones. How do I know they knew? Every year, twice a year, they would black out ALL VPN's (Bhinese New year and whenever Zi (x) came to our city). Then everyone would have to wait for the VPN provider to post alternate servers (dedicated and new) that the TRC (P) were not aware of and then everyone could get back online. As more tensions grew then all the big names (Express, Nord) were totally locked out even if they gave new servers---within hours done.  So, small companies inside the country offering shadowsocks were utilized. Then they were blocked. In this way they controlled all media and information. I have to say from experiencing it first hand it was powerful. To not know the news in home countries was stressful and it controlled the narrative. Since I don't want my posts to be taken down names have been changed.

  3. I hope this helps. I lived in China. Our business used several VPN's:

    1. Express

    2. Nord

    3. Surfshark

    4. Pandapow

    5. Ivacy

    And others......

I liked OpenVPN. I used my subscription for (insert VPN company here) to get servers from the one of those companies (they have a special page for China--Surfshark, & Nord) in which they provide dedicated servers for China because it is so difficult to get pass the great firewall and the local sensors on Ip providers (both automated and manned) who scan packets. Then you can also bypass the "bloatware" of the VPN engines that take up a great deal of system resources and have extended load times.

For me Surfshark or Nord and OpenVPN.

For my phone I preferred PandPow because of shadowsocks.

    Hope this helps.

  4. I dont need an extension. My visa is only 4 months old (its valid for one year---one year multiple entry marriage visa). I need a reentry stamp (its a multiple entry Visa and I need a reentry stamp every 3 months). They are saying they will not give it to me even if the borders dont open after July 31st (the stamp) and that the only solution is getting a tourist visa for an additional 2000 BAHT.

  5. Assuming that all this information is correct. For example, already some of this information as posted herein has not been, as in the case of the landlords (herein, referred to as "LL") original statement on Facebook. Wherein the LL did not state that it was a teacher and did not state that he/she had children.  I think if others step back and look at this critically, there are challenges not only with her statements to date, but also with the accusations. For example, are there any pictures of the unit PRIOR to the occupant or occupants renting? We naturally may assume that the broken door and other damages were caused by the occupant. What if they were not?  My point is that my experience has shown me that when stories such as these evolve to become more elaborate as this one appears to be, they are more often than not either not true or embellished.

  6. I just sent my wife to immigration today. I have a marriage non-o multiple entry. Like many here I need to leave and come back. Immigration stated that the current plan is that on July 31st all persons' with non-o ME visa's will have to --change their visa-- to a tourist or compassionate visa (whatever that is called---to visit their respective wives)  for 60 days and pay an additional 2,000 baht for that visa. The explanation given was that even if Thailand opens its borders, other countries may not, so land borders would be uncertain.
