Holy guacamole! I am planning to come to Thailand as a retiree with my wife, but after I read all this postings, I am scared. So, not only you have to renew every year, but you must show an ungodly amount of money in the bank, then you must apply for re-entry every time you leave Thailand AND you have to fill out a TM-90 (sorry if it's the wrong symbol) every time you move around IN Thailand and you have to do this every few months? How can you guys keep truck of all of this? Do you even speak Thai? How do you deal with the immigration officers? Do they speak English (I don't think so)?

Excuse me, but why did you marry this lady? Was it just a "purchase"? No love? If your son is not 18, then she will have to take care of him, no?

Thanks for all the advises, but my number one concern is the quarantine. I am applying online for the visa, but I am concerned about the quarantine. If I am granted 30 days with multiple re-entry visa, I am forced to spend half of the allotted time alone in a hotel room (because it seems that my wife will not be allowed to be with me), then I probably go stir crazy and waste half of my time doing absolutely nothing. Also, my wife has been in Thailand for 6 months, building our new house. I'm supposed to be there when the monks come to bless the new house before it gets inhabited, so why am I not allowed to spend the quarantine there? In the US, they allow quarantine at home. Why do you have to go on quarantine if you test negative prior to arrival? It is required before you board the flight. Assuming that everybody must be negative on the flight, why is there the need for quarantine?

Anybody knows what the requirements for coming to Thailand from the US to reconnect with my wife after 6 months of separation? Since it seems likely that I will have to be quarantined, will my wife be allowed to quarantine with me or will I have to go crazy in a hotel room alone for 14 days? I bought a ticket for July 14th, is that too soon? Since the Thai embassy and consulate in L.A. are closed, is there any chance that I can extend the 30 days visa you get at Suvarnabhumi? Any advice will be greatly appreciated.

Good luck with the COVID-19 test. It takes a minimum of 7 to 10 days to get a result, if you are lucky. I'd like to know where you can get a test with results in 72 hours. By the way, even if you get it in 72 hours, it would be considered expired by the time you get there. On top of that, you need to schedule a doctor appointment AFTER you get the test for the fit to fly certificate. How is that possible? Why this requirement, since you get tested when you arrive and then you are transported to the alternate state place where you get an additional 3 tests within the 14 days? I could get all of the paperwork, but not the test in 72 hours. I haven't been able to see my wife for 7 months now and I can't find a solution to go see her. It's maddening!!!!
