  1. If I was a gambling man, I would have dbl Thaksin's daughter to win the election by a landslide and Prayut to be the next P.M. Looks about right to me ????
  2. Take a look at the JUNTA that are holding power ATM. There are many old men with died hair and some that need to be propped up, ????????????
  3. So you can smoke weed but not E-Cigs, go figure ????
  4. Finnair arrived @ 16:30, admittedly the crush was just outside door 8 which I believe is the only door your allowed out of.
  5. Although this is not now a new exercise in the current times, Yes! however it felt like being in a tin of sardines ( not that I have ever been in a tin of sardines.) ????
  6. I used to fly Thai (TG) back in the mid 90's when they were a great airline to fly, but alas just the arrogance of the other Worlds Best Airline (they say) British Airways, they have lost their way. Couldn't be amazing if they tried harder. I wouldn't fly BA either. S++t
  7. Sorry to tell you I arrived on the 1st April, returning after 3 years and loosing my wife's Father some months ago, and not being able to get here I had a FULL flight and Hundreds of people with NO social distancing trying to find a Hotel Rep outside the arrivals area on level 2 at swampy.
  8. Well after a issue with the check-in staff at Heathrow over pre-departure test, we finally got here, T&G is not so bad, arrived at the hotel at about 18.00 took the PCR test and was told result by 01.00 am, it actually arrived at 03.00 all clear and free to go????????. Travelled to Buriram only to find that the local Ampur can decide what he wanted, and although the government said acceptable a PCR test and the statement that is TEST & GO, I then found out that I had to stay home for 2 days before I could leave my house. So welcome to Thailand the place that used to be known as the Land Of Smiles, it still holds the abbreviation L.O.S. but nowadays it stands for the Land Of Scared people. ( But at least I made it home, and should be thankful for small mercy's.
  9. The latest twist to this is I have just got off the phone with my airline ( not my airline, but the one I am traveling with) and was told that because my journey starts from London on the 31st March I still require a pre-departure test, even though I don't arrive in Thailand until the 1st April and where nobody will be bothered to check if I have had a test, so the answer is don't leave your home country until after the 1st April.
  10. mickj88, as I see it you can't take the test until 72 hours before anyway, so just wait until the 1st and check with your airline they should update their website by then, if you still need it for departure you still have time. BTW when my wife spoke to the Thai embassy in London they told her they would not need to see it in Swampy after the 1st. Good luck
  11. When I asked at the Finnair check-in the other day the supervisor told me I would not be allowed to board without the PCR test and I fly on 31st March, this is because as of Thurs 24th the airline has not been up dated.
  12. Well! I have just returned from the Finnair ticket desk in LHR ( I live nearby so was easier than waiting 2 hours plus for the phone to be answered) Although Thailand has lifted the need for pre-departure tests from 1st April they have not bothered to tell the airlines, so I still require a PCR test for next weeks departure but wife and son traveling on Thai passports do not. That's up to date @ 15:00 24/3/22.
  13. Not sure, I have tried to find out but to no avail as yet, I will try and contact Finnair later this week, because as I read it it says " No departure PCR required for Int arrivals from 1st April" so as long as you arrive on the 1st, in theory you shouldn't need a pre departure PCR.
  14. I depart the U.K. on the 31st March and arrive on the 1st Apr, spent 3.5 hours trying to get through to the Thai embassy for clarity and was told check with your airline. Go figure!!! But i suppose only to be expected.
  15. I have received my travel insurance document from "Alliance" and after a short phone call they have now changed the heading to "Travel Insurance cover for Thailand" at no extra cost. ????
