At any rate, it's good to know.
I wonder how flights will work. They said they will arrange "three special charter flights" to kick this off, but something tells me the demand for this scheme (which I imagine will be very small indeed) will be scattered—a little bit here, a little bit there.
I wonder if they might just let travelers hop on existing charter flights. I wonder how many are even still operating? The ones I've seen TG advertise on Twitter only seem to be going ex-BKK...

Thailand Longstay Company has updated their website with a page about STV. So far, the information is the same as the one posted earlier in this subject.
Interestingly, they changed it to "at least 30 days" from "at least 90 days." If I end up availing this, I will probably end up staying ~60 days, so it's nice to know I won't have to pay for a month of accommodation I won't end up using.

At this point, I am actively rooting for Thailand to fail. What a stupid government (and, I guess, stupid people).

Great, so now that the "no local infection anymore na ka" charade is over, they can open the damn border.

I guess you want to give us the impression that Corona is not a big problem. Dieing is one thing. But you might suffer a lot and for a very long time. I don't want to get it.
If you're scared, stay home.

I'm not sure what's worse. Xenophobic Thais who attack farang in spite of the fact that their economy is nothing without us, or farang who address other farang with the same disdain, apparently fooled into thinking they're any better.

this is what happens when borders open to tourists:

Maybe not. The same happened in Japan after it closed its borders. Correlation ≠ causation.

Every country in the world will eventually end up taking the Swedish approach. Those who do it willfully will emerge the quickest, and the least damaged.

It is literally a different tune sung everyday by these people. It's exhausting to try and keep!

British Home office remove quarantine restrictions for Malaysia and Brunei.
Malaysia's border is closed to foreign tourists, and will likely remain so at least as long as Thailand's. Seriously, I don't get the "threats" of many posters here to "take their business elsewhere" when basically all of Asia remains closed indefinitely.

Reports so far are that there was very limited spread from the Black Lives Matter protest events. The theory behind that is they were outdoors and many of the people were wearing masks.
Riots and looting are not representative of most of that movement so you obviously mentioned that only to inflame and broadcast your bias against the anti-racism movement.
Political "rallies" that are held indoors, with people packed together and not wearing masks are already scientifically known to be highly probable super spreader events especially in regions that are already experiencing high infection rate.
"Reports" say one thing...the data says another.

I know it's tempting to self-loathe as an American, but Covid-19 travel restrictions are based on travel history—not passport. If you've spent the last 14 days in a country deemed "safe" by your desired destination, you will be allowed in. Put down the world's smallest violin, boo.

More foreigners to be allowed entry into Thailand

According to BP the first tourists under the STV arrangement will arrive on 8 October from *drumroll please* Guangzhou.
Not unexpected, but unfortunate nonetheless. Inviting the guy who burned down your house back for a cup of tea after you rebuild it. Disgusting. Shameful.
