Interesting.  I wasn't aware of this.  UK Gov was going for the herd immunity approach at the beginning but the MSM were screaming too loud and Boris buckled.

Italy and Spain are not including those figures - instead they just report hospital mortality. This would then put it on par with the UK. France too was trying to report only report hospital mortality, but then had to bow to pressure to add care homes. But they still don't add figures from mortality in homes. 

 

The UK has made a huge fiasco of protecting it's elderly population. Basically old people in hospital (there for non covid reasons) were rushed back into care homes, meanwhile they probably contracted the virus from someone in the hospital. Then on top of that no restrictions were placed on those visiting people in care homes. And very few tests done on staff or on the actual people in the elderly home. Huge fiasco. 

Yes.  There could be huge scandal when the dust settles.  If it was proven that they were knowingly sent back to homes while covid positive.

UK to Thailand and back with out having to quarantine in the UK, ..Seems there are a few lists, not on the list where we stay yet....and because that is the situation on departure, it may not be like that on the return. 

 

Hoping for more stability by Oct ,for someone who has a fully booked and everything paid for, once in a lifetime Holiday, and even more so for December (Dad's next trip, as there is no possibility for Aug now)

 

 

I have end of August booked but no charge if I need to change the date.  The FCO website doesn't stipulate quarantine when returning from Thailand.  That's the only source that counts.

Right, it is still not recommending visiting areas on the Thai/Malay border such as Yala, Pattani etc

 

I for one WANT Thailand on the list with all countries, and others in the region here such as Cambodia.

That was always the case.  Not for covid reasons.

No need to add Thailand to any other list.  You can travel from the UK to Thailand and back with out having to quarantine in the UK, and travel insurance is will now be valid.

Over to you Thailand.

If you go to the FCO and click on the USA it states that you must do the the 14 days quarantine on return to the UK.  click on Thailand and it does not have the same requirement listed.
