After begging Bhutan to donate some vaccines, they talk about producing them? -
Thailand strives to elevate tourism industry striken hard by pandemic

How can you expect quality tourists, when many of the 5 stars hotels in Bangkok have street hookers, beggars with no hands/legs, street vendors at their footsteps? Thailand is not a premium destination. Singapore it is.- 144 replies

Thailand strives to elevate tourism industry striken hard by pandemic

Open the country for vaccinated tourists, PCR 48 hrs before and on arrival, then establish more ASQ, as more will get positive tests, but at lower prices(or impose insurance companies to cover new cases or close contacts, even as asymptomatic), then go <deleted> yourself with this never ending disrespectful attitude towards tourists. -

This will bring ASQ prices down. I expect 5000 THB for 14 days In 2025. -

Numbers are not true. Positivity rate is around 40%, extremely high, but somehow understandable, as they test only those with symptoms and close contacts? Anyways, most important figure is hospitalisations, the only useful thing by reporting new infections is media attention and everybody has benefited from this "strategy" from no name Twitter farangs in Thailand to The Big Boss, His Highness Prayuth. -
Thailand reports daily record of 239 new coronavirus deaths
drenddy replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
I like the title, always focus on the ugly side. Wonder, if tomorrow the numbers are lower, both cases and deaths, what would title be : Thailand reports highest numbers on a Wednesday? -
Short on vaccines, Thailand seeks to borrow from Bhutan
drenddy replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
Let me get this straight...Thailand, second largest economy in SEA, proud country, never conquered by dirty farangs, local manufacturer of AZ, begs one of the poorest country in the world for some AZ vaccines.... Not even BoJo begging Ursula to get him back in the EU is more shameful...- 113 replies

October reopening?
drenddy replied to NorthernRyland's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
At current rate of vaccination, shouldn't they be near 80% at the end of November, when, perhaps, we could see some kind of reopening? -

October reopening?
drenddy replied to NorthernRyland's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Do they afford not to reopen? At least, cut the quarantine for vaccinated travellers from 14 to 7 days, same should apply for sandboxes...14 days requirement for Phuket Sandbox is not out of some health safety considerations, it's pure business, keep the money in Phuket. I want to visit Thailand, I want to be a part of those zillions of THB, TAT keeps telling about.
