Nobody cares about Thailand and its Covid policy. Besides people directly affected. World community does nothing regarding the junta, Thailands extreme drug penalties, not to mention lese-majeste. On the world stage nobody gives a <deleted> about Thailand, especially during these times, therefore is no need for Thai Government to preserve credibility. On national front, they couldn't care less.

I would travel to Thailand, even during these times, but with a solid insurance...Being covid positive, you are insured. My travel insurance said it clear to me, no insurance in case of close contact. Should I travel, I would definetely look at Emirates Insurance, it seems they cover quarantine/isolation in case of close contact. But will not travel before having a clear answer from Emirates.

Once again, it is up to Thailand to decide whether they want overcrowded hospitals...And insurance companies, of course... Read the rules before you travel. You have no excuse to criticize therefter....I, myself, had some danish colleagues who had plans to travel to Thailand, I told them about TP and quarantine rules, they had blind confidence in the travel agency...They had absolutely no clue about TP.Nothing.Nada. Short story, I am not impressed about these social media stories.

Didn't CCSA reduce the length of sandbox from 7 to 5 nights? Or is it for countries not listed? Theoretically, someone coming from an approved country has to say 7 nights, whereas the other only 5? Or what?

Thai tourism minister says "Omicron" won't affect tourism arrivals

When i recently sent my thai wife back home, I asked here to take a PCR test every 3 days in the week before arrival, bit of overkill, I know, but I left nothing to chance. If she had tested positive on arrival, it must have been false positive.Hopefully, she didn't. -

One can say anything about how Thailand deals with infected people and their close contacts, but you, as a traveller have the sole responsability if you end up admitted to hospital or sent into isolation. One can argue is crazy to keep people in isolation more than 5 days, when they tested negative and display no symptoms whatsoever, but the young girl needs to be separated from the others...The question is why she need to be sent to hospital...The answers is at the insurance companies. You need to check the rules and, once you made the choice, there is no point to whine about it. -
DPM Anutin: Thailand is able to handle Omicron variant
drenddy replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Pretty sure, those people, you despise so much, fill some unwanted jobs on the norwegian market, pay their taxes, hence they are entitled to health care, so go easy with your xenofobia And, don't forget, without the oil and natural gas, norwegians would still have been the peasants of Scandinavia. -

Imagine, how this circus sounds in thai people's ears, all kind of words, they never heard before, Alpha, Delta, Omnicron, most likely the average Somchai will connect this with that movie, Transformers, where they heard something similar : Optimus, Ultron etc No wonder, they feel the world is coming to an end. PS.Not that the average westerner has a deep knowledge of the Greek alphabet -

Thailand suspends ‘Thailand Pass’ and ‘Test & Go’

Quite a progress, from completely shutting down the borders for 2 years and locking down big cities like Melbourne because of some cases. I wonder, if they learned it from the swedes. -

Skandinavien is one of the most controlled area in the world. It is striking to see the degree of which citizens obey the rules, they called confidence in the authorities, I call it brainwashing. There are almost no protest whatsoever over the Government's policy, at least in Denmark, pretty sure it's not too much different in Norway. The media is merely a Government channel news. Don't get me wrong, I am not into conspiracies, I am vaccinated, but I see democracy slowly dissapear. Can we get a bit of Mexico in Denmark, please? Or some French resistance(not like under the 2nd WW though)? -

Overkill decision. With no mass testing or genom sequencing, it's completely useless and merely a political decision. Like in any other country, politicians must show the people, they do something. Stop the Planet.I wanna get off. -
