Why is ก็ pronounced with a falling tone?

1. ก is a middle class consonant

2. The syllable is dead because of the short vowel /-aw/

Why the tone is falling instead of low? If there's no tone mark the only case of a falling tone requires a low class consonant, so how did we ended up with a falling tone for a mid class consonant ก?

Why is the second syllable of the word เชาวน์  (วน์) not audible, and the pronounciation is /chao/, as if it was just ช plus vowel เ-า?

Also - what is the mark over this letter น์?

What vowel is used in the word เปิด?

I know some vowels have multiple parts, like เ◌ีย or เ◌ือ, but I can't find any vowel structure that includes both เ and ◌ิ. 

Thank you. I know the vowel  ำ but I didn't see the little circle above the consonant  - I thought there was only a tone mark there. It's so obvious now when I enlarged the text.

I am just starting to learn Thai, and I can't figure out why the word  น้ำ is pronounced /naam/ and not /naa/. Where does the /m/ sound come from?
