Thank you. Although In general, I would usually give 2 weeks to a month notice, im just worried that they will withhold my salary if I give them any sort of notice before the salary is returned at the end of the month. So I shouldn't worry if I just leave the school after receiving my salary?

Im on a covid visa at the moment so they have no control over my visa. Obviously where Im from we give two weeks notice but Im also afraid that they will withhold my salary if I give any notice.

Hey guys,
I’ve been endlessly waiting for my school to provide me a work permit. Now I’ve found another job, higher pay, and can provide the work permit. Should I give my current employer any notice of resignation? I’m scared they will withhold my salary if I give them notice?
thanks in advance

So basically, I have been working at this school without a work permit due to complications with the process in the country. I've actually signed and been working this whole year. My contract is coming to and end in June. I have found a higher paying and more legitimate school that is willing to hire my July on-wards.
Here's my question, should I give my current employer a notice of my leaving? Or give them a notice, but with fear that they might screw over my last months pay because technically im not even a legit worker at the school. Has anyone been in this situation?
Thanks for all the help, in advance.

I know this is against immigration laws but how many of you are working while on visa amnesty? I know including myself there are a lot of teachers working here with full qualifications. The problem is none of us can convert our visa amnesty to a non immigrant B visa. What kind of information does your schools tell you?

As the title says, with land borders closed, how can I obtain a work permit from visa amnesty? I have all the paper work and qualifications. I need my non b visa first. Anyways, I’d like to do everything as legitimately as possible but will I have to leave the country?

Thanks everyone. It's been over a year at this school, and I've got my degree and transcripts all available. Anyways, I've concluded it seems best to get my pay and then verbally tell them this is my last day. Feel bad for leaving like this but it is what it is.
