You can get a home test kit from Randox and test at home, then have the swab couriered to their nomated lab, or visit either of their clinics ( liverpool or london). I did mine in London £120, results in less than 24 hours. Book your kit or appointment online.

I did an online consultation with "Dr Dan", yes his real name £55 for thr online consultation and fit to fly. Book your medical on line.

    Very easy process.

Just spoke to Randox. They said they need you to come into clinic directly. Then send it to Northern Irealand !!! <deleted>

I have got the rite company randoxhealth.com ?

You have to test before you get on a plane and twice in quarantine. If you're carful for ten days prior to the flight, the odds any of you end up positive is pretty remote.

Have you seen airports in Europe - no social distancing at all. It's a very risky enviromnent.

Furthermore if you take a repatriation flight, you are going to be on board with Thai's who haven't been tested.

  3. I am trying to get back to Thailand for work committments and my childrens studies.

All our friends in Bangkok have left.

If the unimagiable happened and we contracted the virus, what would happen to our children ?

I am hearing mixed reports that if you catch the virus you are taken straight to hospital, others say if you have mild conditions you stay at the hotel. But what would happen to my children during this quarantine period if the unimaginable did happen?

    Seems quite daunting and scary.

    What does this even mean?

** Relaxation of lockdown measures and living in the UK that began to return to a near normal state It provides convenient access to local medical services in your residence. You can also use the service to easily obtain such documents online. Embassy Therefore request to suspend the health check-up service to issue Fit to Fly certification from August 2020

Does anyone know what the declaration form is ?

  5. Hello there,

can anyone answer a few questions for me:

    1) My children study in Bangkok. We have the visas. I am told i need a 'declaration form' to attach with my CoE? What is this, and where is it?

    2) If i go via Emirates, do i need a return flight?

    3) If i go via Emirates, do i have to travel from London, or can it be from Manchester?

    4) Is there anything i need to know regarding the insurance cover - some amateur mistakes that i should be aware off? I am travelling from the UK, so does the FCO advice make any difference? Also any links to those offering the insurance.

    5) How long has people's process taken for the CoE?

    6) Any places up north (north east area) that carry out the required Covid and fit to fly test?

    Thanks !

  6. Beware very massive, boring rant coming up.

So i'm going through the repatriation process back to Thailand. I am teacher (PLEASE NOTE NOT AN ENGLISH LANGUAGE TEACHER - BUT A REAL TEACHER), from the UK, but work for a teaching company in Hong Kong, which goes back some 15 years ago. Through them i have teached in Thailand for some 10 years, and finished last June 2019. I did not return in August 2019 due to some family issues in the UK.

So now my company is offering me a chance to return and i am seeking some advice as to what to do ? They have a special repatriation flight in a few weeks. I however am left alone to get the visa's carried out at my own embassy (although they will send my documents).

I can teach in the UK too, and pay is almost three times more here in the UK. However, i loved my time in Thailand - that is up to a few years ago. Around 2017 living Bangkok really began to get on my nerves. The city is becoming massively over crowded with (and okay i'll say it) Chinese tourists. Just horrific beyond belief.

Then there is the gentrification. My condo was lined up next to some of the best street food in the world. It was almost 50-60 vendors that would make some amazing food. I would grab some coffee, a quick breakfast on the way to school - it was unbelievably fresh, clean and the taste amazing. Honestly it bordered on michellin levels, lol. However, they were cleared, along with all the unique shops for a horrific set of ugly condos that has wrecked the Soi. And guess whose gone into those condos - Chinese tourists. They arrive in coach after coach, get shipped around, taken to chinese owned restaurants, chinese owned shops, chinese owned tourists guides, and sent back on Chinese airlines.

My favourite restaurant was closed down, as the land owner sold up and you guessed it a condo got built. Chinese tourists. Coaches. Urination on walls.

Taking the BTS to my school was horrendous. Packed in like sardines in the mornings and on my return.

My parents came in 2018, to visit me for the first time. I was so excited to show them my 'wonderful' life. Took them to Phuket, and we encoutered horrendous Chinese tourism. We had tickets for a boat, but bang comes a coach, and they just swarmed ahead of us, knocking my mother to the floor, and then a trip to the hospital. Eventually got to the islands, and my goodness, speed boats and disgusting pollution everywhere wrecking some of the most prestine islands. Litter everywhere. The final straw for me came when a Chinese mother was allowing her 3 boys to urinate on the beach. Utterly disgusting.

Sorry for ranting on and on. I am just typing my thoughts as i go without a read proof.

So anyways now back to my possibility of returning. To those in Thailand, what is life like there now? Naturally tourism orientated places are going to be closed, bars and nightlife must be down and hurting. But no Chinese tourists !!! HURRAAAAH !!!!!!!!

Is life in particular dull, boring?

Someone fill me in what life is like there now compared to a few years ago?

Sorry for ranting on and on, but was a little theraputic ! SHOULD I STAY OR GO ?

    Step 1:

You e-mail the Embassy requesting to apply for the Certificate of Entry and that you wish to apply for a visa once you know which repatriation flight you will be allowed on.

With the e-mail applying for the Certificate of Entry you submit the following:

    1) Letter Reason to return (i.e. return to Wife / Family) and that you wish to apply for a Visa (i.e. SE Non-Imm O)

    2) Marriage Certificate / Childs Birth Certificate

    3) Copy of Wifes Passport / Childs Passport

    4) Copy of Your Passport

    5) Certificate of Covid-19 Insurance (up to or over US$100,000)

    6) Declaration Form (spouse of Thai or Parent of Thai)

    7) Completed TM8 form

    Step 2:

Embassy e-mails you to confirm CoE approval and offers a seat on a repatriation flight/

You agree to the flight then:

    1) Pay for the flight (receive flight e-ticket within a few days)

    2) Book and Pay for ASQ and submit ASQ booking to Embassy.

Upon receipt of ASQ booking and confirmation of flight the Embassy will issue (by e-mail) your CoE.

    Step 3:

    1) Apply for Visa online (MFA Website) - submit all documents as required for the visa (including flight ticket / ASQ booking etc)

    Step 4:

    1) After Approval of Visa is notified book *appointment at Embassy (by e-mail)

    2) Travel to Thai Embassy have your Visa affixed in your passport

    Step 5:

    1) Less than 72 hrs before flight: Take a Covid-19 PCR test

    2) Less than 72 hrs before flight get a fit to fly certificate

    Step 6: Airline Check in

    1) Present ticket

    2) Present Covid-19 Insurance

    3) Present ASQ booking

    4) Present Fit to Fly cert

    5) Present Covid-19 Negative ert

    6) Declaration Form

    8 ) TM8 form

    9) Certificate of Entry

You are in Thailand so you know what you are talking about.

This just beggars belief, because the Thai embassy have told me to just go ahead and apply for a visa first. Then once i get it to register for flight.

    This is horrendously confusing.

Are you suggesting i should do the visa ... wait i am totally lost.

Greg - are you sure of that?

A month ago I received a Non-Immigrant Type O (Single Entry) visa from the Thai Embassy in the UK.

No mention of printing out any documents and posting them.

    Important Point:

Are you also applying for a Certificate of Entry ? (based on Marriage to a Thai, Parent to a Thai, Thai Elite Visa, Work Permit).

And... also requiring a ‘repatriation flight’ to Thailand which can only be organised through the Thai Embassy in London.

I'm still at the visa stage.

It says post the bar code attached document as well as supporting documents.

    Did you post your application?

It says on the main page you will need evidence of accomdation, where you live, finance proof, but then only lets me upload one PDF.  Can you upload more than one PDF ?

  9. Because i live 5 hours away from London, i opted to post my e-visa application.

However, it is now saying you have to print of all your supporting documents, application form, etc and post them. This begs the questions why the hell did i have to upload everything in digital format on the e-visa website, if i now have to obtain physical copies and send them off. What type of nonsense is this? I specifically rang my bank, companies up to get all details in a digital copy, so i could upload them easily. What was the point, if you just have to send a physical copy?

Would an appointment have been different?

Also is there anything i need to note about posting my passports and application forms off?

Guess i better go buy a printer !

Applying for the visa and certificate of entry are done at the same time as far as I know.

Since the visa allows you to enter the country with it for 3 months I am certain you would get on a flight before then.

Certificate of Residency? Do you mean Certificate of Entry?

Don't tell me there's another certificate i am not aware about, lol

  11. Okay completely confused. This whole process is crazy.

Do i need to get my visa first (which i assumed i would need to) or do i register for a repatriation flight first?

I am completely confused, because i am going through the process of completing the visa form (as someone who is eligible to return). So i assumed the order was as follows :

    1) Get visa

    2) Register for repatriation flight

    3) Once you get offer for repatriation flight go through the COE process

But someone has now thrown a spanner in the works and told me to go register for a flight first, before i even start with the visa.

Also, they only issue you a visa for 3 months, so what if you can't get on a flight in that time frame?

PLEASE HELP ME WITH THE ORDER !!!!  The Thai embassy reply to me this week took the urine - telling me to phone them, when they have never a answered a single call for 2 months !

As stated above book a suite/room with a free cancellation policy for your first couple weeks (obviously don’t forget to cancel after arrival).

Print this off whether you think you need it or not, it’s costing you nothing. You’ll probably need to give card details for the accommodation.

Thanks, i think i'll do this.

I wrote my stay will be 90 days (how long the visa is for) - so would it be okay to just book a  (cancelable) hotel room for a few weeks? My concern is they will want to see evidence of my stay during my entire stay.

  13. 4 hours ago, BritTim said:

Most likely, for a single entry Non O, they will not require proof of your address in Thailand, If they do, perhaps, Thai relatives can email a copy of the house registration book and a one sentence invitation (in Thai or English) for you to stay with them pending more permanent arrangements.

I do not have relatives in Thailand anymore.

When you go for a visa do they ask for evidence of stay ?

Make a booking on air bnb for one night nearly all can be canceled without any fee. Or just book it for a week or a month in the area where you want to live and then shop for an apartment but even better stay with air bnb as they don't have stupid 2 month deposits

But isn't airbnb illegal technically for a stay less than a year ? I know we all make bookings with it for a few days here and there, but can you show an airbnb document to the Thai Embassy ?

ALSO do i need to provide a hotel or appartment stay for my whole time there or can i show just a few weeks? Do they ask for evidence of your stay?

  15. 1 hour ago, BritTim said:

    1) Just state "Repatriation flight to be notified by embassy"

    2) 90 days : they will understand that you intend to extend

    3) Name of school in Thailand, and type of school

    4) I usually state something like "Passport office Liverpool"

    5) It is better if you have an address. The address of Thai relatives in Thailand would be a good placeholder.

    6) If not familiar with the process, easiest is to use a photographic service that does this all the time.

    Thanks BritTim. Very helpful.

Do they ask to see evidence of your address you will be staying? I usually just rent an appartment when i know my dates. But with waiting for repatriation flights, how do i make a booking?

Could you book a refundable hotel room for a few weeks? Or do they require proof of stay throughout your whole stay ? I'm assuming i can't show an airbnb booking due to the legality of that in Thailand.

  16. Hello all, not sure if this appropriate to ask on here, but i have a few question regarding my childrens education visa forms. My kids school has finally re-opened back in Bangkok after 5 months, so we are going to go through the process of repatriation and see what happens.

On the form can someone help me with the following :

    1) TYPE OF FLIGHT & FLIGHT NUMBER. - what do i put under this section? I assume i will wait for a repatriation flight.

    2) DURATION OF STAY - how long do we put into this section? We intend to get the visa extended in Thailand to complete the children's study. Yet a visa is only for 3 months.

    3) PROGRAMME OF STUDY - EDUCATION PROVIDER - is this the  intended school in Thailand that we hope to be joining or the childrens current school in the UK ?

    4) PASSPORT ISSUED - does this mean country or a local city?

    5) ADDRESS IN THAILAND - we usually rent, but if i do not know when or if i can get to Thailand, what should i do here? What are my options?

    6) THE SIZE AND DEMENSIONS OF PHOTO - how do you resize a photo to fit with the size they want ?

This is just the first page ! lol
