  1. AstraZeneca is made from a weakened version of a common cold virus (known as an adenovirus) from chimpanzees. It has been modified to contain genetic material shared by the coronavirus - although it can't cause the illness. Once injected, it teaches the body's immune system how to fight the real virus. Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 Vaccine is an mRNA vaccine that teach your cells how to make a protein—or even just a piece of a protein—that triggers an immune response inside our bodies. The CDC Authorized and Recommended only the Pfizer, Moderna, and Johnson and Johnson's Janssen Vaccines. However, all of the vaccines have been in use since February this year with little side affects, and a great reduction in cases, and severity in breakthrough cases, which was to be expected. I had Sinove on 2 August, followed up by AstraZeneca on 22 August and had no side effects of adverse reactions at all, which, is probably common. My parents have had a booster of Pfizer (three shots total) but they are 86 and 91 years old and live in Florida, so I don't blame them, they also had no adverse reactions to the vaccine. In fact only one family member and two friends, out of all my family and friends got a breakthrough case. None of them had to be hospitalized. There is not enough data on breakthrough cases to determine why, but my niece has type A negative blood, and there is a thought that folks with rarer blood types might be a cause. she was sick for about a week, and then got over it and was back to normal. She credits the vaccine. for keeping her out of the ICU.
  2. As a foreigner living in Thailand, just like so many other foreigners, I understand the frustration we all must endure during this pandemic, I do feel the rules, no matter how bad you may think they are, are set to protect everyone. While the government's long term plans have been slow, and maybe over cautious, and at times seem useless, this is their country. I can only speak as an American looking back at the country I came from. I should not have to explain the irrational behavior of some Americans. But if that is how I felt, I would return back to the US where I can carry on at will. I have made Thailand my home. I am grateful to be allowed to live here. And while I could complain about the visa renewal process, or the seemingly unnecessary TM47, if I add up all the days up I spend working on staying up to date with my paperwork (let's say 10 days total) that still leaves me with 355 days to enjoy myself each year. I can live with that. I may not however, be able to live if I catch covid. Since the article states these foreigners may be from the UK, Austin Powers comes to mind, "Oh Behave!"
