Wow, Call your family and tell them you might not make it home tonight! If it feels any better, you may not have to wait the 5 hours inside like I did because as I was leaving it definitely seemed to be less people packed in the hallways trying to figure out where to go.

My guess by watching things around me is that this move and the procedure adjustments are new to all the staff and they're still kinda feeling theiru way through things. To that end, btw, there was a bit of musical chairs going on inside the waiting rooms because they are left unattended for hours at a time. People get up to buy a drink downstairs and someone else walks in and takes the open seat in front. The document checking and switch to the plastic numbers did seemed to go numerically, BUT people were not getting called to the final application room (where you pay) by when they started waiting. So try to figure out which side they take people from and move yourself closer as seats open up.

Yes I told them I may not make it back until midnight last night. I want to add this new retarded procedure they decided would get so much heat during the pandemic.

    Did you have an appointment?

Yes I had the appointment and arrived 1 hr early At 12noon and according to the fool calling people foolish presuming it was by choice to attend the last day should read my other post. Last time I extended early only to get amnesty announced and those who did labeled in a foolish way. Anyways the above isn’t important, however there were less people than I anticipated on the last day though i noticed I got my yellow number Outside way before some people in the back yet I was among the last to be called in the waiting room. Also I overheard io was selective of who gets the pink cards and who gets the yellow. If I had just arrived at 8-pm instead of trying to show up early my time spent would have been fine as i would only have invested 3 hours which is a breeze compared to 11 hours spent at immigration.

I believe you are in the correct que. 1st the yellow card then wait in proper room on 4th fl. (Rooms are labelled by number groups) then eventually they come in and check you have the right forms, then give you a plastic-coated number. Wait some more, eventually someone will come and bring grouos of 5 or so to the final application room/window.

I got my yellow number at 11:15ish and have just paid and hooray! just now received my passport back at 4:25. Its only to Dec 14, which will go to Jan 30 they said after I return and wait another damn 5 hours again on the 14th. They said to start outside again just like today.

Thank you sir good info. I’m still in line to for io to assign the yellow que card. The line has not moved in the past 2 hours. Why did they change the location and and act with less efficient procedure is a mystery.  I have been in line over 4.5 hrs already and still standing. I can see the group of io just chilling around their desk l. Not sure why they stalled To assign numbers outside the last 2 hours

Let's draft your Friday post now.

"The person I rent room from promised to provide TM30 receipt by Friday and has not done so. What should I do?"

Answer. "Check into hotel over weekend asking first if they can supply you with TM30 receipt. You will receive printout straight away"

Thanks I’ll do that just Incase since the Airbnb host responsible for submitting the TM30 just told me he’s never done it before

Think you arrived visa exempt but that not important. Just one person's opinion, but why anyone would leave applying for extension on the very last day! Personally I would have done it already.

It’s not my intention. I had requested a printout of the TM30 from the person I’m renting from over a week ago and am told would be provided sometime by Friday. So just need to Asking/making sure Monday which is nov30 my permit stamp, I am still good as that is my appointment date.

It'll be MTT, with an embassy letter less than 30 days old at the time of appointment (which is the end of this week).

US embassy is stating no letter is required for an extension by the Royal thai government’s immigration bureau. Is the US embassy the only country with this this agreement? Perhaps stating which country of origin would bring better clarity to extension requirements.

  7. I sent an email request stating the reports and recent concerns due to reports of certain immigration officers. Thus tried to get a new standard letter from US embassy regarding these concerning reports. Again the embassy clearly states they would not issue these letter due to the fact that it wouldn’t be required but would be a charge, assuming it’s the 1900baht extension fee. 8. Hi like some folks on this forum who got the permission to stay til November 30 I heard you can apply for an extra 2 months extension? I’m carrying US passport and used the embassy letter to get that November 30 stamp. If anyone has done or plan to apply for an extension on a tourist visa please add your thoughts. I’m cautious about going back still with news about a 2nd covid wave further more the situation is reported to getting worse.

You just flash it and they allow you to queue. It's not really an actual appointment, it just allows you in. The lines are nothing like they were on April 7 and it's much better organized.

So there’s no actual need for me to book online appointment and just show up with embassy letter and queue in line? Because another post mentioned the online appointment is necessary. I’m confused

  10. I’m currently on amnesty since April 7 which is my last permitted day to stay within the kingdom then use a covid letter from the states before amnesty was announced. Currently again have 2nd US covid letter and plan to go MTT. My question is does the online appointment apply to me? Or do I just get in que such as the first time during April. Would very much appreciate some clarity.

Sorry to hear about your situation. Some IO's can be a real pain in the ass. Hope everything works out for you.

I received my us embassy letter on August 31 and currently on amnesty. I plan to go to MTT this week. What are my chances to extend til October 26? I’m concerned by the fact that I got the embassy letter so early but have been have yet to go to immigration due to food stomach pains from eating spicy Thai food

  12. Ok so I got my US embassy letter last week but still unsure if it’s sufficient to get an extension past September 26. Originally I arrived end of February on visa exemption then got a month extension permitting my stay to end of April. Afterwards received my first US embassy letter due to covid running rampant and during this time everything in Thailand was pretty much on lockdown with curfews and all. what I hear from my friends and family back home specifically Los Angeles the situation is terrible and several of my friends and relatives were not spared of the disease. I’m curious as to know if anyone else from the states with was automatically approved for an extension using the most recent embassy letter.
