Lies do not change reality. Lies do not put real money in the pockets of people or food on the tables. The lies simply help the clueless planner and decision makers appear to be doing something positive. However reality is clearly too extreme for the lies to be effective

When you have millions to spend on property investments, there's no need for a 30 year visa as you can come and go into Thailand or anywhere else anytime you want and generally stay as long as you want. Those folks are comical and simply void of common sense.

You really are mistaken or somewhat naive about this virus and especially the Delta variant.
It doesn't decipher who is young & healthy, it doesn't care if you have no underlying condition .......
Covid19 can kill you if you become infected. Please wise up and take care.
As for your travel plans .... yes you have to have a negative test result just prior to flying, you may have to quarantine 14 days at your destination ...... Check with the rules & regulations on the country you are entering.
On another note ...... you may not just be able to walk in and buy a Pfizer or Moderna vaccine shot in August, September, Oct .... maybe January 2022 .... I wouldn't count on getting it that easy.

Ever heard of long covid?

I'm no fan of Pharmaceuticals or any of the vaccines so I will never take a COVID vaccination. I workout daily, eat healthy and fuel my natural immune system with vitamins, herbs and healthy living. Besides we all die sooner or later and I have zero fear of death when my time comes. Live life to the fullest without fear or simply exist while fearing the inevitable.

Thailand is clearly being governed by a collection of clueless idiots. It's obviously being run by stupid people who have no clue just how dumb they truely are and illustrate everytime the announce these moronic directive, laws and policies.

Why the obsessive worries about alcohol consumption and covid. What is the link they believe exists ?
-
Thailand sounds like the place to be !! Not !!

Can we now put the implied immunity or super fix nonsense to rest. Just live life to the fullest and ditch fear, we all die sooner or later. Almost 4,000 fully vaccinated people in Massachusetts have tested positive for COVID-19 (yahoo.com)

I don't understand Thailand officials obsession with alcohol bans during alleged COVID precaution periods. I'm no fan of alcohol, but I simply can't see the link and why they feel alcohol bans will do anything to help or improve the situation.

Tell me how much has Pattaya changed since the end of the last war?
It was a staging point for troops on their way home, became a hot-spot for lets say nightlife and has remained the same ever since.
75 years of doing the same thing.
It is what it was and has never changed.
I first visited Pattaya in 1980 while serving in the U.S Navy. It was small, no walking street, simply a few bars and hotels on what is now the walking street. Back then, the goal was to get out of Pattaya ad get to Bangkok where it was all fun and enhanced nighlife. Between 1984 and 1995 I did not visit Pattya or Thailand, but when I returned in 1996 Pattaya had grown and they were expanding. From 96 to present I've visited and lived in Pattaya consistetly and have seen it continually grow, and then begin to slow a couple of years before the plandemic. The city and interest in the country has slowed due to greed and stupidity. Elevated prices and exchange rates have pushed away visitors and investors who realize Thailand is no longer a good deal. Money comes to make money, not throw it away. While fun seekers spend and invest foolishly and require no improved standards.

Having been to over 47 countries and to more cities than I can ever recall. I see no way Pattaya or Thailand in general, will become a magnet for primarily wealthy travelers anytime in the near future. They lack infrastructure and appeal. The country remains somewhat dirty and dysfunctional, it's controlled by unstable military personnel and really there's nothing high end about the country. I love Thailand, but it is what it is. The leaders are ridiculus and delusional.

The allure was cheap, no-hassle fun for a month.
Now its too much of a hassle and it's not cheap. They've opted to head South of The (US) Border.I'm an American who has visited and lived in Thailand (over 30 visits since 1981), I've also visit Brazil over 20 which is just as much fun with prettier women, Colombia 5 times also fun but not as many tourist, the Caribbean (primarily the Dominican Republic and Jamaica) great places to visit and cheap. The DR like Thailand is a sex tourist location, but still lots to do if you aren't into that. Costa Rica is also great cheap place to visit or live as an expat. As for Mexico, I've been there many times but only really recommend resorts, some of the cities can be dicey if you aren't careful. In short there are many great cheaper options for Americans than Thailand with no real restr.ictions or hoops to jump through at the moment

Well, the difficult part of this equation is factoring in the desire of a tourist to visit a destination that has been decimated by this insane shutdown. Who comes first? Tourists or business owners? Will the people who have been wiped out by this return? No. Will new people take their place? Will Chinese investors swoop in and turn Thailand into Cambodia #2? So many unanswered questions.
So, let's make some predictions. Of international tourists.
Balance of 2021.
Phuket - 5,200
Samui- 4,100
Thailand total- 17,600
2022
Phuket - 45,000
Samui- 38,000
Thailand total- 1,100,000
2023
Phuket - 320,000
Samui- 255,000
Thailand total - 2,300,000
2024? Possibly as many as 3,000,000 tourists.
I think from 2025 forward, 4 to 10 million a year. I doubt Thailand will see more than 15 million tourists a year, within our lifetimes. The "TAT glory years" are a thing of the past.
Too many problems already existed prior to Covid. And none were addresses. Zippo. Nada. Nunca. Zero.

With nobody coming in from India, how does the virus arrive ?

I'm surprised it's all not simply blamed on foreigners

I'm a retired American who has been both a high income tourist and high expat resident of Thailand (retirement visa). None of the current requirements ever bothered me, except the inconvenience of checking in every 90 days and later the TM30 which was confusing and very unnecessary in my opinion. I left Thailand for Australia with the intent of returning after 90-180 days but COVID changed that. I'll never return to Thailand if I have to quarantine or if they demand I vaccinate (which will never happen). The world is full of other options but I hope Thailand gains some sanity and they make wise decisions as I'd enjoy returning but if not oh well, life goes on, I won't lose any sleep either way.

Hi, I was vaccinated with Moderna and have not had any side effects.
Rather be safe than sorry.
What makes you feel safe. They never promised you immunity or a cure, simply used you as a tester for an alleged vaccination.

An extraordinary prediction.
Ah.
I think you'll find that, outside conspiracy la-la-land, one of their key selling points is that vaccines reduce your chance of developing Covid-19 and, if you do, is almost certainly going to stop you needing to be hospitalized or, indeed, dying from Covid-19.
Yup. We have only vaccinated a small percentage of the population. It is vital that the rules mandating mask use, for the safety of others, remain in force because there may be some delusional idiots who don't care about the safety of others.
Once vaccines reach general availability, and most people are vaccinated, and infections drop below 0.1% again, mask use will naturally end.
Well, there are some notable ways in which you will be restricted and I won't. I will be able to fly in airplanes. I will be able to visit foreign countries. I have a growing suspicion that the quality of other expats I meet in Thailand is about to significantly improve.
Tell that nonsense to the vaccinated people who caught the virus or impacted by its many side effects. Eat healthy, workout, build your immune system vs placing your health in the hands of risky, experimental who knows what.

He now realizes vaccines offer no immunity and COVID simply simply now something we will have to deal with just like the cold, flu and all the other viruses and or diseases commonly contracted by humans.
