Do they mean fat?
More complicated than that, you have obese who look normal and overweight people in perfect shape. Metabolic syndrome is linked to insulin resistance, big stomach is one symptoms but fatty liver and visceral fat are not te same than subcutaneous fat.
To fix it : no more high glycemic index food, les carbs and , no more seed oil (linoleic acid).
Processed food love to use sugar as it is addictive and cheap and seed oils are cheap and tasteless.
It's difficult to advice olive oil in Thailand but palm oil, coconut oil or ghee are better.
Obesity code by Jason fung s a must read on the subject they should translate it in Thai.

Already old but a few month ago I enquired for Thai vaccine recognition in Belgium.
There is 2 levels. One was for quarantine on arrival managed by federal goverment.
They wanteted a certificate where vaxzevria (name of AZ vaccine) was clearly written .
Then the pass to access most businesses was depending on regional goverment.
To obtain that pass one had to go to his MD who will check the batch number on foreing certificate and then issue the EU pass. They did not know if the Thai batch numbers where valid in the European database.
Some EU countries are more open and even accept chineese vaccine.

Ooh, as well as all the time this have taken away from you. It must feel like you lost a part of your life.
You have my deepest understanding.
Do you think that people stranded from Laos or Myanmar also have to pay 1900 thb? Many work hard to survive for 350 thb (sometime less) per day salary so an extension is a week of work for some

IF confirmed this will be an exelent news for all the people who could not get an extension for many good reasons.
Like
Yacht owners who entered as crew or captain and don't have any stamps in their passport.
Husband of wife of foreigner legally in Thailand (whatever visa even PR) who entered the country as tourist and can only get a dependent visa outside Thailand.
People who's principle prevent them to apply for an education or volonteer visa if that will not correspond to their activity.
People who don't have 4 Thai employee anymore due to covid.
People that have an embassy who refuse to play the second round of embassy letter game.
And all the other who are bringing currencies and not doing any harm in the kingdom, whatever the reason they are staying in the kingdom.
I don't know what the future will be but I already saw advertisements for Bali visa targeting foreigners currently Thailand (smart as they are covid free) so it seems some assume that people who can afford it will go where they are treated best.
We are not in a normal situation but this may be the new normal for many years, frightening people who are good guys without offering adequate alternative is probably not beneficial to the country.
Only a few hundred million thb that will enter the economy once via the agents and other beneficiaries but does it worth the thousands of good guys who have fly out spending their money somewhere else?
Are embassy letters a way to filter people who try to escape from their homeland justice? Or have a forged passport? then iI should be a one time think.
In the current situation the best would be STV visa with ONE embassy letter saying you are a good citizen.
Showing you have the money not to be a charge to Thai society would be also arequirement that make sense to apply to STV visa inside Thailand. 90 days at the time won't overload immigration office and allow distanciation.

I see this add popping up on Facebook since a few days.
No idea if it is legitimate : about 500 $ for a upto 6 month visa to Bali.
Indonesia is supposedly closed but Bali was keen to open for tourism in Jully and was turn Dow by Jakarta. Is it a smart move from local authorities trying to attract foreigners from covid free Thailand? Or is it just a Scam to get money out of desesperate stranded foreigners in Thailand?

But it looks like they like people keep coming, after getting under consideration stamp we must visit IO twice a month won't it create a chaos? and if we go for second extension next month, again 2 visits to immigration a month.
Yes indeed as all 30 days extentions will start on 27 Sept so 12 Oct and 26 Oct will have rush like never before, exept if there is a new measure announced.

Thailand does have ways for people to stay here long time.
If you're over 50, you can put 800k in bank account and apply for retirement extensions, provided you keep that in the bank all the time, or at least most of the time.
If you're married, you can put 400k in the bank account and apply for a marriage extension. If you are working with work permit on top of that, you can also apply for Thai citizenship.
If you are partner of PR holder, you can apply for extension based on PR holder.
If you are a parent of a Thai child, you can apply for extension based on that.
If you have a decent job in Thailand, you can apply for extension based on work permit, and if you hold same job for 2+ years, apply for PR. And if you keep PR for 5 years, you can apply for Thai citizenship.
And there are more of these, but all of them have something in common: they are for people who bring value to the country and are not a burden to it. Like every other country, Thailand doesn't want people that will be a burden on society.
I don't understand why people who are willing to spend nothing and do nothing, and are only sitting and waiting, hoping for a miracle, expect Thai government to do something for them, while at the same time they can't find one good word for this government and keep on spitting on forces in power and repeat how stupid they are?
Scrap together whatever is required for extension of stay, or stop complaining and accept you just don't belong here. There are flights out of Thailand every day.
And if you are under 50 and your spouse got a retirement visa in Thailand you must apply for a dependant visa ... Only Outside Thailand and you are not allowed back in. What is the rigth way to solve this? Divorce and get married wit a Thai so you can apply inside Thailand?

Sky rocketing cost of fuel threatens boat tourism in Phuket

Would be great if they also extend again the temporary importation of vehicles (including yachts). It's curently a procedure that must be done every 6 months but max 4 times
Some people who have been stranded by closure of neighborhood countries start to leave for this only reason and may as not come back as crossing border in yacht still a long and costly procedure.
If a yacht owner want to do full import, he has not only to pay VAT but also to change boat registration to Thailand, that has many implications most owners don't want.
