  1. It really is a topsy-turvy world. To be honest, he should have been the one paying that Euro 1,000 fine – for refusal.
  2. What happened to Thailand? They used to have ‘hubs’ for absolutely everything.
  3. https://www.thestar.com.my/aseanplus/aseanplus-news/2025/05/11/thailand-launches-aviation-hub-plan-eyes-suvarnabhumi-for-maintenance-repair-and-operations-centre#goog_rewarded Of course they can. Have you already forgotten? They are, or will become, the airport hub of all Asia. Or maybe not….........
  4. True. https://cyprus-mail.com/2025/04/28/authorities-issue-34-taxi-violations-in-limassol-and-larnaca
  5. I believe you did not read my comment correctly. My opinion is not based on Phuket or Pattaya – I say, as you yourself also do, that it is exactly like that there: more European than Thai. That it is different in Kathu, I of course know. After all, I have been coming to Phuket for over 30 years."
  6. Thai cuisine is indeed extremely diverse and excellent. However, an ordinary tourist rarely gets to experience this variety, because in the typical holiday destinations such as Phuket or Pattaya, almost all restaurants offer roughly the same menu – about 90 per cent identical. Even worse, the Thai dishes are often listed right at the back of the menu. A real pity.
  7. I do have a little understanding and sympathy for him – it must be really hard not to get any more brown envelopes.
  8. The TACO nickname was clearly invented in Thailand, and the Americans only copied it for Trump.
  9. Alright then, let them have their new hub. But honestly, the fact that aircraft maintenance and repairs are included makes me a bit uneasy. After all, planes have brakes too! On the other hand, I completely trust them — they do have plenty of experience with brake failures, after all.
  10. Fantastic idea – especially the hub for the cheeky film category! The actors would be cheap and already around, so production costs would drop massively – almost a bargain of a project!
  11. Maybe he was not fully able. That’s why they chose the disabled CR.
  12. 6. The girls are getting chubbier. As an "old hand", but no longer active in the scene, I keep hearing everywhere: Being a bit chubbier really isn’t the problem these days. It’s more like this: The ladies are now real pros—you can hardly tell them apart from colleagues in the business worldwide. That legendary Thai charm, gone. And one might add, getting expensive as well.........(item 7. : also true)
  13. Good comment! Prices in Portugal are really going through the roof – especially in the so‑called “Golden Triangle” in the Algarve. Beautiful area, no doubt about it, but property prices there are seriously steep. You’ll hardly find a house for under a million euros anymore. In the parts of Portugal that are genuinely cheap, most expats usually wouldn’t want to live. And with these rankings, it’s always the same: in the end, very subjective or just plain off.
  14. Hypertension, Hair Loss, Insomnia ? I’ve got all that too – only difference is I’m not banged up. Him? Hard to say… might be ‘inside’, might be in the prison spa suite with Sky Sports and room service.
  15. He’s clearly a VIP on the Shinawatra loyalty scheme—every prison cell quickly upgrades to the hospital’s penthouse suite, no questions asked.
  16. That reminds me of my former girlfriend. Once, just for the fun of it, I asked her: “How many 1‑baht coins would you need for a 20‑baht note?” Her reply, in all seriousness: “I’m terribly sorry, I wouldn’t know. Mathematics was never really my strength at school.😂
  17. We know the saying “TIT” with all those bizarre headlines. I honestly thought I’d seen it all by now. But no – turns out I was dead wrong. A SENATOR runs over a pedestrian and then goes on to rob the bloody corpse. Arrested? Obviously not. Instead, he’s only facing a potential ethics probe by the Senate. Absolutely ridiculous. Cheers, Thailand – every day is a new lesson. With you lot, literally anything is possible.
  18. The creation story also says the world was made in seven days — but I never really bought that, to be honest.
