  1. Following issue/major fail: For some reason I transferred the 800K money 1 month too late.
Was on a holiday in BKK, tried to extend my retirement visa there. (I am living on Koh Phanghan).

Officer there: "This is not good. But... We can extend the one or two month you need from now! BUT: Ok, see: We cannot: You are registered in other province, go to Samui."

On my way back to Samui: Went to Samui Immigration. Additional paperwork (like health certificate and google maps printout and rental contract etc) prepared, but the "money in account since two months"-letter of bank missing as I cannot turn back time. Only the "money in account since..." letter at start.

"This is not good. But don't give us your problems, we will not help you with extending."

My retirement-visa (issued in Germany last year) is valid till 30 Nov.
I consider going to Surat Thani Immigration to try there, as issues seem to be handled differently in each immigration.

Would Surat Thani send me back to Immigration Samui as well - or do I have a chance to be processed there? (I heard that that happened to somebody in the past somewhen...)

Next hope: If I would ask for COVID extension: How would this effect my retirement visa status (at Dec 28 my 800k baht will have been in my thai account for 2 months - so I would finally have all paperwork together for the one year extension wich I of course still want to do!)

I already made many stupid mistakes (with my "german logic" way of thinking) and now I am running out of time for more "try and error" visits at different immigrations... could need some advice, thank you!

OP, you will need to apply for an annual extension prior to your current stamp "permission of stay" expires. However the 800k would need to be in Thai bank and be seasoned for 2 months.

An agent can "get around" the money issue.

I wired the money to my Thai account now. I also checked out what an agency would take for solving the money issue (for one year): One agency here asked for 70.000 bt !

I cannot turn back time but I always had the money as requested ... let' s see what happens...

There is really no solution to your problem. It is not possible to get new one year entry from your visa without physically leaving and re-entering the country.

When does your current permit to stay (admitted until date on your arrival stamp) end?

    30.11.2020...

  4. Hi there, I got my retirement visa last year from Berlin, Germany.

O-A, multiple entry. It will expire 30.November 2020.
My equivalent of 800.000 baht is parked on my daily accessible account in Germany since over a year, I extended my Health insurance to cover me till 2022...

I got everything together for "normal" extending: Normally I would have been in Germany in summer or I would visit a neighbour country...  - but due to Covid I still cannot leave and COME BACK.

Is there any possibility to do a border bounce without crossing the border in person within the time of 30th November - so I get another year, as I would normally get?

Wich options do I have now? Thanks for help!

  5. Update: Today I learned a lot.

    * For Visa Extensions Immigration Government Complex is the right place to go.

But I was not able to do it because I was too early (only possible 45 days in advance)

    * I can do this on Samui

    * For 90 days report you have to go to a completely different place - find it in google if you search for Thai Immigration Temporary Visa Extension. it is a 100 Baht Taxi ride away from Government Complex

    * The person who told me to go to Samui was right: If you live in Province Surat Thani, you have to go to an immigration in your province (for me: Samui)

But I can also do it online / via IMM app (will find out how this works or got to Samui Immigration)

  6. Hi there,

since dec 2019 I am here on a Non-Immigrant OA-Long Stay Visa / "retirement" visa, issued in Berlin.

I went to Laos in Feb 2020 and I WOULD have gotten another full year (till feb 2021) with my re-entry at the airport. They accidentally gave me the stamp but then looked closer at the health insurance paperwork, wich said: insurance till end November - so they corrected that. Beginning of February I was sure I would go home to Germany anyways and would get my new "full year" with re-entering in time, so of course I was not prepared regarding the health insurance beginning of the year.

Due to Covid I stayed - and in the meantime I extended my health insurance for Thailand and have the paperwork with me now, as I am visiting Bangkok at the moment.

I also have to do my 90 days report now and I thought it would be easy to combine the 90 days report with asking for Visa Extension till February as I had been out of the country feb 2020 - I just want to deliver the missing health insurance information, so it should not be too much of a problem, right?

Question is: Can I do this somewhere (where) at the airport when I fly back into Samui?

Or shall I go to an immigration in BKK (to wich one? Wich would cover both topics?)

    Thank you, kaaa!
