  1. Seems to be spleen letting time.......My beef with Thai Education concerns the multiplicity of 'schools' teaching English, I was called to an interview at one such school for the purpose of commiting to an expensive long term contract for them to teach my stepdaughter English.Foolishly they had the alleged teacher present at the interview, [a very pretty young lady, hard to say no to ], in fact almost impossible to say anything to as she hardly had any English skill at all. Finally as we upped stumps and made our farewells she sat there quite unsure of what ever had happened. i do hope someone had explained it to her .

Oh! Yes we did find an excellent English teacher in the person of a young English Backpacker, and i am well informed that the two [daughter & teacher] became firm friends. Sadly teacher has moved on to Aus NZ etc but if you know of another similar in SURIN, Please let me know.

  2. Old Down at Heel Aircraft, Pathetic Service and a complete lack of desire to respond to any complaint other than to excuse their poor behaviour, coupled with unrealistic pricing that in no way reflects the real value of what is on offer m ust make Thai A MUST MISS AIRLINE. Hence, I have just booked two tickets for family to Fly To Aus for a Holiday, on ANOTHER AIRLINE. Thai once sold me 3 or 4 tickets a year; Not any more .....I"d rather sit on the wing of an Aeroflot.

  3. Inventor of the mouse , D C Engleburt, USA , has died today aged 88. He also discovered Conference Calls amongst other things . The mouse finally gave birth to the Personal Computer, and Douglas also forsaw the Internet and tne Email way before their time . quite a bloke , I reckon.

  4. thank you but stop it,, this is smokeis thred,,lol

david my wife peals grapes,, bloody hell they all must do it,

and im not joking, she peals them

    jake

I'd like to see that .....to 'Peal' a grape would be as in pealing or ringing a bell....... to 'peel' is to remove the covering [skin]as in a stripper . Sorry to be so Pc, but it's freezing in Aus this am and I'm bored.

  5. Seems to me to be just another way to make Thailand even more competitive with it's competition nations!!!! One could easily and reasonably reach the conclusion that Thailand really doesn't want Tourists and is hell bound on discouraging them. Better the Government take a look at the financial contribution to Thailand made each year by farangs, and then thank Budda for it and do everything they can to encourage it . I am well certain the gain will be seen to far outweigh any cost of hospitalisations by farangs. That said, I do believe in travel insurance, "don't leave home without it ", and must also say I have been well treated in a regional Thai hospital after a motosi accident , as good care as I would have got anywhere, and at such tiny cost as it was not worth a claim on my insurance.

  6. Eating junk food a couple times a week on a diet ? rolleyes.gif

A proper diet is 1 cheat meal per week max, no alcohol etc.. weight lifting is a good start but it will never offset a bad diet. coffee1.gif

I know, but I honestly thought that hard weight lifting 3 times a week would be enough. But clearly not if a fast food meal has 4000 calories!

Any fast food will do you in. I have had to loose weight due to a heart prob. I stopped all sugar and loose 1kg a week easily for several months .....but I mean ALL sugar......and most fast food is loaded with the stuff, it's what makes it tast sooooo mooooorish.

  7. Sandman77,

Two observations.......1. All the conditions exist already in your relationship to make assured a great success........ as a bitter divorced and ripped off unfortunate old fool. Run Forrest! RUN!!!

    2. Drinking to excess is an Issan tradition, even a way of life so long as the Farang is paying for it . When i first arrived in Issan several years ago, wanting to impress, I shouted a lot of alcohol on my first night and drinking went on 'till way past midnight . I went to bed and woke around 4am to answer a call of nature, and lone and behold , seated outside my bungalow in a tidy line was all the village men ready to start drinking again. I quickly learned the two essential Thai words.....'mai' 'bah' ....... NO and Go away. Serve me well to this very day .

  8. Had heaps to do today.

    Got absolutely nothing done.

It has been a long while since a girl has stopped me in my tracks...

For goodness sake don't let her know how keen you are ........such knowledge will certainly make all the family's buffalo sick immediately ... LOL.!!
