  1. Said before the true restaurants will get rolled into the 'bar/restaurants' in footing the blame. The town halls issued the licences when it was obvious that they were still going to operate as bars so blame lays with them. Meanwhile those proper restaurants that have been open months will suffer along with the bars. Question is would these bars have converted to restaurants if alcohol was still not allowed on eateries? Of course not so it was obvious to anyone, officials included, what would happen and how they would operate, regardless of licence status
  2. Problem with low testing, low numbers to sequence and see which variant is circulating. Knowing true case numbers gives you an idea of how virus is spreading and planning to be taken place for health services, etc.
  3. Hospital up by 3000 odd on yesterday, as said concentrate on hospital numbers.
  4. If it is same as Patts everywhere bar Go-go and night clubs will be open.
  5. Exactly what the authorities want. They set the rules, bar/restaraunts don't follow them and authorities will say, you don't follow rules so we're going to shut it all down, leave us no choice. Plus if they do follow the rules there will be so few wanting to risk the ATK hospital incarceration lottery it would turn into a defacto shutdown.
  6. Me thinks that the official figures don't tally with measures and restrictions been put in place, limiting alcohol, limiting alcohol hours in blue zones, police patrols in Pattaya, national park closure's, etc. Pretty sure the CCSA and authorities know the true numbers of infection. Compare it to a news clip I saw of Mexican president saying they have no surge, not ramping up restrictions on tourism, don't even publish vaccination figures. That's a true head in the sand haven't a clue.
  7. Probably in the high 10's thousands if not higher if you include ATK but then most people won't report a positive ATK because they are worried about getting incarcerated.
  8. Figures are all over the place, we have different figures published provincially to central, have figures put up them changed few hour later. Know what they say about liars, they trip up eventually.
  9. And yet the CDC dashboard is reporting 960 for Chonburi.
  10. Chonburi is only reported 960. Thailand the only country in the world to buck the Omicron trend as instructed by Anutin, unbelievable, no really, it is UNBELIEVABLE.
  11. https://ddc.moph.go.th/covid19-dashboard/?dashboard=province For the 9th Jan a rise of 250, flatlined already, amazing Thailand.
  12. Does anyone know the exact rules in blue zones, still 12-2 but new time of 5-9pm? They sure like to make a confusion. Suppose it has to be published in the Gazette before it is official news.
  13. Don't worry about the locals who test themselves with ATK, get a positive but then carry on working because it's do that or not eat/pay the rent or those that actually isolate but just pop down the 7/11 for a few things or order take out and have to go to condo reception to pick it up from delivery. I know this goes on because someone o know did this with 'Its ok, I wore a mask and not out for long'. This happens in every country, not just Thailand, but to vilify farang for it is the 'We are good, farang bad' save face scenario.
  14. Testing numbers will limit the published cases in Thailand.
  15. Strict rules and of course they are all following them, and everywhere check bin 11pm and all out, cashed up and shut by midnight. Trust me I was talking to someone tonight in a bar at 3 am. Problem in Thailand is they don't follow the rules, the police don't enforce them and the government knows this so they bring in across the board bans/restrictions/closures. It's like Bojo asking people to refrain from doing things, middle finger goes up.
  16. Would most people sit in a restaurant for 4,5,6 hours? But a lot of people will happily do that in a "modified" bar/restaurant I believe. That is what I was referring to, not the environment per-say as in nature etc, etc.
  17. Hope he didn't gat too close, they seem to like closing schools as they view them children as super spreaders.
  18. Schools before the money again, say no more.
  19. Never, they won't reach 200k because they don't test enough PCR and don't include ATK that are reported.
  20. Schools don't generate enough money for those at the top, plus they need the uneducated to carry out all the unskilled work in their big industries. Can't have the peasants bettering themselves and threatening the elite circles hold on power. Totally agree with you though, if other nonessential business are open then schools should 100% be open.
  21. Low mortality rate but if hospitals end up with too many covid admissions and have to cancel routine health care then the health system is under too much pressure. It's not just the mortality, it's pressure on health services and don't forget the symptoms of long covid that can result, that is something no one in Thailand seems to talk about. A good friend had covid April 2020 and has struggled with his sleep ever since.
  22. So CCSA will have to approve modified eateries directly. Carry on as is in Pattaya then as BIB won't be that worried. They can keep their tea box topped up.
  23. They don't like testing so they wont get to those levels officially.
  24. those in medical care, not field quarantine went up about 2000 the last couple of days
