  1. We won’t go into the absolutely incompetence etc of the Everton board/ owners, but whats fair for one should be fair for everyone

These idiots at the PL who have taken the sport out of football and have replaced the sport with rules after rules that have clogged up what the game is supposed to be about “ having a game of footie “they have chosen to go through Evertons record with a fine tooth comb,so surely they  should examine the books of ALL the PL teams with the same eagerness they picked Everton out of the hat, i did hear MONTHS ago that Man City, Chelsea were being investigated and so far no news of any wrongdoing from these teams and no doubt a few more that unlike Everton who told the truth these other teams have hid under the radar or could it be that these teams are now above bowing to the PL because they are involved in the champions league or could win the league

  2. Thanks brick top for your reply,i know only to well in Thailand at times its like knocking your head up against a brick wall

( no pun intended)I was so delighted in finally sorting my 2,500 B rebate out because we had arranged to have a little holiday heading for Kok chang for a couple of days, i booked Vietjet to Bangkok and as i was checking in the VERY attentive clerk scrutinized my passport and informed me that my name on my passport did not match my name on the booking form, I have always used my name Pat Mcxxx on emails bank accounts you name it always been pat,the VERY attentive clerk pointed out to me that my name on my passport was Patrick which it is if you want to cut a long story short

it is,he then proceeded to tell me that my ticket was invalid and I could not board the flight until I bought another ticket,

and you’re guessed it the ticket was exactly what my tax rebate 2,500B then putting my bag though the camera they opened my bag and told me they were going to confiscate a jar of Sudocrem because it was 0.25 over, the cream was brand new it was for my daughters nearly due baby that’s very good for nappy rash etc.

So I gave Vietjet my tax rebate and also paid VAT which was a jar of Sudocrem, don’t forget to apply for a KTB account just in case this Prompt Pay is going to be the norm in the future

  3. Thanks Nigel

My friend does not have any assets in Thailand, he wants to leave his Thai wife who lives in Thailand a asset that he owns in England, once again if a will is drawn up in Thailand,by a reputable solicitor is this will  legally binding in the UK

    Thank You

  4. My friend is retired and living in Thailand,he needs to make a new will out as the only will he as made was in 1993.

He Has property assets in the UK and wishes to leave some assets to his Thai wife of 15 years.

My friend wishes to know if he gets a solicitor to draw up a new will in Thailand leaving cash or property to his wife

    Question

If he gets a reputable Thai solicitor to draw up a new will in Thai and English will the will be legal and acceptable

    in England and Thailand

  5. Thanks

I read a post saying its possible to stay up to 7 months if you come on a tourist visa and do 2 border runs,

but i cant find this post after searching for it.

My friends before covid always stayed for 6 months on a double entry tourist visa, now they are ready to return

    for hopefully 6 months,so

if you come in on a tourist visa that gives you 60 days plus a 30 day extention = 90 day

then according to the post you can then do 2 border crossing in one year giving you 30 days plus 30 days extention

Total stay 7 months if needed

The Chiang Khong/Laos border is now open so 2 border runs would not be a problem for them

Can this  be confirmed in order to book flights etc

    Thank you

Out of interest how long are they staying and entered Thailand with a visa or ....?

They could have avoided the fine by having a TM30 done prior to attending immigration..

I think they are coming on a tourist visa,in the past they have stayed for 6 months,

So can I take it that its still the rule to fill in the TM 30 and inform the immigration

    Thanks

Will they be attending immigration at some point for extension or whatever?

    If not do nothing.

I think its best if we inform the immigration as the last time they were here we thought there was no need to attend the immigration, then an insurance claim cropped up were they needed a letter from the immigration and received a 800 B fine

  8. My friends are over fifty, they have been fully vaccinated and are getting the booster shot in the next week or two, they have told me they will hopefully be coming for a two month holiday after applying for a tourist visa that does not require quarantine.

Am i reading this right, according to the rules and requirements on the Thai government web site if you come with a visa that allows you to stay for two months without any ASQ hotel requirements, but if you come on a STV and stay over90 days you need to quarantine in a ASQ hotel,

Now that does not make sense to me,if you are FULLY vaccinated and you are free from covid in your two months stay, but you must quarantine first in a ASQ hotel if you want to stay longer on a STV visa,

Once again am i missing something, surely if you don't have covid in your first two months there is a VERY good chance you won't have covid if you stay longer than two months

    Thanks

  9. Apologies if this as been mentioned before, but im dizzy scrolling through the many covid/ visa threads,

My married couple Brit friends have been spending six months in Thailand and six months in the UK for the last ten years before covid entering on a double entry tourist visa or a triple entry (not sure) and walking across the Mai Sai border here in Chiangrai to activate their visa, have searched but cant find the latest rules.

As anyone obtained a double entry or triple entry tourist visa recently in order to stay for up to six months in Thailand without the quarantine rules etc.

       Thanks for your help

Rafa without his main man and only inches away from securing all 3 points at OT.

Beautiful counter attack for the Townsend goal.

Yes a few previous Everton managers would have played with eleven defenders trying to guard the penalty box and thinking 3-0 to Man U Was a good result, but Raffa with a third choice striker, three summer signing at a cost of 1-1/2 million a lad still wet behind the ears and half the bench that i hadn't heard of went about the business of "having a go" got their just deserve and came very close to getting three points

What do you expect in a rural area, a Mariachi band?

It would be nice to hear a Mariachi band when the villagers have finished their rice planting for the day,i doubt if you would get perfect peace and quiet living anywhere in Thailand even if you live on the 20 th floor of a 30 square meter condo box.

My family lived in this house for over 20 years,i loved every minute, was never bored in the village all the neighbors got on with everyone and crime was non excistant

We also have 5 beautiful rai set in the mountain area ( no chinote )with plenty of fruit and teak trees that kept me busy for years

Looks nice, apart from the roof and ceilings that look cheap.

I would say the house is like life, its a 'work in progress"

I hummed and arded over the roof for weeks but imo there is a ceiling price for houses like this and no matter how much more you spend on a house in the area its going to be a hard sell at the best of times, the price reflects the area and i know it will take a certain person to be interested in the house.

But if you twist my arm i could give you a 20 year warranty on the roof haha

My Chiangrai HHH name is ' Shocking" Dont ask me how i got the name haha but i was the GM of the Chiangrai hash for over 6 years really great fun, most of the hashes we had 30 to 40 people my wife still holds the record for hash attendance,my two children have Chiangrai hash names,Mary who is 28 now is  "boy magnet'and my son Shaun who is 23 is "super glue"

is that supposed to be a slur at me?    hahaha    I think you might be better staying in your lovely place and working on that "buddha mindset"  .

i have never lived anywhere near Pattaya  but have lived in 5 rural areas of the North of Thailand...

starting long before you were here ,

Does look like a lovely place you have there.  Why you leaving ?

    oops.   forgot the "mate"

    Rumak

This is certainly no slur on you,i don't know who you are,the reason i mentioned the infamous soi 6 Pattaya is because i was a regular in a very good friend of mine who had a bar in the then sleepy soi 6over 30 years ago some of the old timers might remember"Jimmy Mac 'who had a bar that catered for mainly expats or people who just wanted to have a drink and a chat.

Jimmy r.i.p sold the bar to i think the Queen Vic owner but set his niece and nephew up with a bar thats still there i think called' 'Little Jimmy Macs' the last time i was in Pattaya was over 3 years ago when i called in to his niece and nephews bar just to say hello, i found myself running the gauntlet just to say hello to friends i have known for over30 years,i am sorry if you thought my post was a slur on you but as i said to my friends who are trying to earn a living in a street that i can only describe as the rat race or a desperate place to try and earn a living,i lasted 3 days in Pattaya and went to Rayong to get away for a little peace and quiet

Mastering the Art of Mind over Matter  as your neighbor's roosters crow alllll day   .

yes,  you will be a true Zen master if you can accomplish that ...............

Yes mate you will hear a neighbors rooster crowing once in a while ( i thought you would have had better judgment than putting allll day) i would rather hear a rooster crowing than run the gauntlet from one end of soi 6 Pattaya to the other end.

  16. "Escaping the rat race" can have a number of different meanings:

    • Movement from work or geographical location into (typically) a more rural area
    • Retirement, quitting or ceasing work
    • Moving from a job of high strenuosity to one of lesser strenuosity, like the tang ping lifestyle of young Chinese laboratory.
    • Adopting a Buddha-like mindset
    • Changing to a different job altogether
    • Working from home
    • Becoming financially independent from an employer
    • Living in harmony with nature
    • Developing an inner attitude of detachment from materialistic pursuits
    • Alienation from the norms of society
