I live next to Germany and would like to go in November to Thailand, what are the requirements and how will they be controlled if i want to benefit from this?
I remember that my country wasn't on the initial "Phuket sandbox" list and the embassy stated that i needed to be 14 days prior to that in Germany but how do they control that? I can just cross the border as many times i want.
Also i think its quite confusing that Britain and US are on the list as they have the highest infection rates, so i guess they wan to limit the influx of tourist and gradually get adjust back to it, looking with the remaining requirements still in place i think Thailand is not "really" reopening and its definitely not gonna see a lot of tourists in the coming months.

Thailand is a shadow of the country I first visited 25 years ago. The military and its contacts are bleeding it dry. Once my extremely lucrative work contract is finished I will be spending much more time overseas.
I think this is very interesting because a few years ago it really looked like they could make it and the only serious contender in Asia that could have put itself on one level with Japan and Korea.
But this situation shows that's it's just another SEA nation and poor countries will always be poor and rich countries will always be rich and as long as we live we wont see much change in that.

It's not just Thailand but the whole world is trapped in a spiral of incompetent people pretending to know something about a situation that is impossible to control.
All argumentation is justified by peoples titles like "experts" "academics" or "prominent doctors" .
How about they try to analyse the situation about past successes and failures and try to draw conclusions from there because this just looks like continuing going downhill and reinforcing their delusional opinion.

Absolute utter nonsense and yet again I suggest Thaivisa employs a financial professional to moderate this sub forum
I have a job to not react every single day here (and I could) on different threads. Its catastrophic the advice time after time
Sure everything that's not right with your opinion should be removed from the forum, why not apply yourself to be a moderator and make everything right to your taste?
Your argumentation just shows on what level you are.

Efficiently? Just don't do it.
If you're willing to take the risk, Contact both banks(sending and receiving) and ask them what the operation costs. There is a limit to 2 million baht transfers in Thailand but i don't know if its just out or in too.
Your banks will make you an offer(sending and receiving fee) and compare it with different online brokers like Wise, RationalFX etc.
Personally I would have 3-4 Thai bank accounts and send it trough Wise in 5-10k chunks to those different account and then consolidate the money over a few months into 1 bank account in Thailand or even keep it in 800k chunks on different accounts there.
Be sure you will never get it back out without at least paying 10-15% transfer fee on it + currency devaluation risk.

It is a 60 day extension of a permit to stay granted due to the covid 19 outbreak.
If on a visa exempt or tourist visa entry you have to apply for the normal 30 day extension before applying for it.
So would it be 45 + 30 + 60 days i could stay as a tourist?
Can i use the Covid extention once or several times?
I've just fount the form to fill, what if i dont have a valid reason? Is it just a formality or will they actually check my situation?

What is a Covid extention?
Can you stay over the regular period that is given with a simple visa extention?

Simple answer to that. STVs will not be issued after 3rd July. Source Thai Embassy London website.
This information is not provided by my embassy, I will contact them and see if its a general thing or each embassy has their own policy on that.

Thanks mate, never thought of that

As the STV scheme ends end of September and the visa in itself is kind of a good deal (no border runs) I’m considering going there.
I have a lot of questions and before bothering my embassy with it want to check if some of you can help me.
I’m not cheap, I’m there to spend money but it really looks like I’m buying the cat in the sack and that there’s gonna be quite some transactions from my part before I'll get any guarantee that I’ll ever be allowed to enter.
When STV ends will regular tourist visas be available? What’s the hint behind this expiry date?
STV
If I stay 9 months do I have to make all the papers for the entire stay or just for the requirement of more than 60 days?
Like the proof of accommodation and insurance, will the duration/validity have an influence when I make an extension in Thailand? Or do they just check the visa validly on the passport?
A medical certificate, certifying that applicant does not have prohibitive diseases
What’s considered a prohibited disease?
Evidence of long-stay accommodation:
Is an Airbnb booking recognized? There are hotels that give you a month for 4000baht, is that accepted? Can I just book the cheapest accommodation available and then go stay wherever I want anyway? Can I just have a friend draft me up a rental contract for his house?
Confirmed ASQ reservation, how does that integrate with the SHA+ Sandbox scheme?
Sandbox scheme
I am part of a non-safe country and can only enter if I stay 21 days in a safe country prior.
I live in Schengen, how is this proved with open borders here? How do they know I’ve actually physically been in Germany for 21 and not just drive back home with a car?
What does direct flight mean? In a certain way, every flight is direct? Am I not allowed to do any transit at all? Like does it have to be Zurich – Phuket but it can’t be Zurich – Doha – Phuket? Or is it just that I can’t transit inside Thailand but transits outside Thailand are ok?
What about Return ticket, proof of funds?
Tracking Phone Application – what if I have 2 phones?
What if I Book a regular hotel next to my SHQ hotel and go stay there?
Thanks in advance

I'm in the same boat.
To be quite honest i'd wait until August and wait for some reports for people who went there and who will answer those questions. Because apparently even the institutions in thailand who make the rules dont know about those rules themselves and it will probably be a huge mess.
It might also just be a huge scam to get some publicity and its just a different version of the traditional quarantine.

10k road deaths a year but hey, lets get crazy about 2 local infections. Even most thai people have realized now that this is just a scam to distract from the real problems.
People don't care about the disease anymore but about how the restrictions affect everyday life which is much more noticeable than the disease itself. And not matter what, unless they let go of that ridiculous amount of paperwork and 2 weeks quarantine, the demand will not come back as we can see in the numbers. I'm very curious to see the numbers for november, probably not more than 2k which is non existent compared to 2-3 million in normal times.

????
Over half a billion Baht loss last year alone. Just let that sink in...
Yet they keep on trying to con people into buying it.
How can you run a loss on selling a simple plastic card and some stamps for 15000$ a piece? Let that sink in
