Meridien just confirmed the UK quarantine is back to 15 days and not allowed outside the room.

But is that for 7, or 10, or 14 days Q?
Everything. It’s still 1 hour per day as well. So if you’re on a 7 stretch you’re not breathing fresh, debatable, air until your 3rd last day.Remember 7 is actually 9 and 10 is actually 12.

What's happening about the free to wander the hotel grounds and use the facilities after day 3?
Is that not happening now?
Meridien saying no gym or swimming pool full stop. Allowed outside for 1 hour after day 6 only.- 1

Well you know the answer to that then. I just got back to Oz on my 5th round of quarantine. It's not that big a deal. You have some drama dealing with yourself for a couple weeks.
I had an awesome roomy suite in BKK with a balcony sure the last couple days dragged but like you and many other people you just don't want it bad enough ..that's on you not on Thailand.
Not sure you get the point. Integrity wise I’m not paying 2k GBP to be locked in a hotel room with a set menu. I’m a tourist, I’ll simply go to another country with no restrictions. Just like 99.9% are going to do.Don’t want it bad enough? It’s a holiday, not training for a World title fight. This won’t even dent the tourism numbers but good luck to them.
You make it sound like it’s some elite destination like nowhere else on earth. News flash buddy, the world is a big place. The people will go where they are welcome.

So which is it?
This:
Thai authorities on Friday agreed to allow foreigners inoculated against the coronavirus to travel to its biggest holiday island without undergoing quarantine, and announced a new order for five million more doses of AstraZeneca's vaccine.
Or this:
From next month, the hotel quarantine period will be halved to seven days for fully vaccinated visitors to Phuket, Pattaya, Koh Samui, Chiang Mai, Phang Nga and Krabi, Tourism Authority of Thailand Governor Yuthasak Supasorn told a news conference.
Sometimes I wonder if they controlling what they write at all. Or maybe they just don´t understand what they write?
I emailed the Meridien and they told me 10 days for the UK but I can’t leave the room till day 11 - 2nd test. The 10 days is actually 12.Not a chance I’m staying in a room for 11 days.

Years ago when I used to travel to Pattaya for 'business' Le Meridien was my hotel of choice. I have to say that's it's went significantly downhill now though. It's very popular with our friends from the Indian subcontinent. The reception staff were also hopeless and spent all day on their phones. Great buffet though.
Sincerely
Morris
Is that not pretty much the case across the board? I was using it for the Bonvoy points.
Fear not though, Turkeyton above will grace us all with some official correspondence. Truth hurts for some seems.

It seems that this particular hotel is your "all-purpose weapon" regarding this news.
Please, either serious links, or your posts are not to be taken seriouslyWeapon? It’s the hotel of choice that I was planning on using. If you want more advice email all the hotels you want.
Odd little man.

can you tell us how you found out about the UK
Meridien hotel. If you read the wording it was obvious as well. ‘Every country with a variant’. Plus the allowed outside the room seems to have swiftly disappeared.

we will know by Tuesday the details and costs, but they said the pool will be availible after 1st negative test day 2 or 3
Confirmed UK can’t leave the room at all during the 12 days.

A 3rd wave is sweeping through France, Germany and Italy, I can’t see many European countries being on the the list including the U.K.
The classic will be if they allow China and the SE Asian countries, which I think they will. The origin for all of this will be deemed the welcome party, really couldn’t write it.Still nothing official on the leaving room part which is the main deal for me. I’m close to calling 2021 if all this uncertainty continues. You then need to factor in if/when they do get a substantial wave that you could then be caught in a lockdown over there when your origin country is open!!

Seems the bit about being allowed out of the room on the first day as much you want was BS. The virus mutation doesn’t make sense, nearly every country has a variant.

‘Sorry sir. The government have not confirmed about quarantine and also UK has dangerous strain. For outside room you can’t leave until last day, so sorry sir.’

google: "Quarantine to be eased from April 1"
Unfortunately, TV doesn't allow links to articles from that newspaper..
I emailed the Meridien and they are saying otherwise.

Hope , by the time you get here , you don't have to do the whole 15 days.
Also it is good that you can leave your room for more than an Hour, Even though you might not want to, just knowing that you can is a big thing for me.
Where did you see you can leave the room? They canned that area quarantine idea. It’ll be behind the door for 10 days.

Hey bum, if you want to peddle every countries total as a reason not to allow them in you’ll be locking everyone out for years.

My understanding is different from yours then. My understanding is yes it should prevent most infections, but in a lot of cases if you DO get it it will give you mild or moderate illness rather than hospitalization and death. And to be honest I can live with mild or moderate symptoms rather than death.
There is always going to be a death rate with this now. No escaping it.
It’s sad but you better get used to it.

Right now that is correct.
The danger with these silly statements is you’ll get lunatics booking flights without knowing it’s just a childish think tank at work.

What is the official steer as opposed to speculation and silly ideas? It’s still 16 days not allowed outside?
-
On the Thailand travel FB group already 4 people have been refused boarding today. 2 had not filled out the form and the other ones didn’t have a viable reason for travel.

Not happening guys, not official. It’s still farcical and won’t make a dent on their tourism sector.

So found a townhouse in Bangkok for sale recently on ddproperty and purchased it directly from owner. So moving forward the aim is to rent it out as we like where we currently live.
My question is about how to advertise. The current listing for sale has all the photos, description etc. There would only need to be minor changes. Such as for sale changed to for rent etc. Is that possible.
Has anyone been in this situation.
Clearly the aim is not financially based and intention is to price below market just to have it occupied.
Any advice appreciated.
Do you have a link to the property mate? I’ll take a look at it for you.
UK Quarantine

Just been informed by the Meridien and a friend who’s in a hotel in Pattaya that they are now quarantining UK citizens for 15 days again with no outside access.
